The Christian is told to be certain ways. It is our choice to obey or disobey. The commonly noted ways are:
- be kind
- be loving
- be patient
- etc.
Such are clearly Biblical and important, but there are other times we are told to be other things, which are not readily mentioned. The following are some:
- be holy (Heb. 12:14)
- be afraid (Rom. 11:20)
- be zealous (Gal. 4:8)
- be faithful to the point of death (Rev. 2:10)
- be perfect (Mt. 5:48)
- be careful (Mt. 16:6; Lk. 21:34; Rom. 12:17; 1 Cor. 3:10; 10:12; Titus 3:8; etc.)
- be on your guard (Mt. 10:17; Mk. 13:23; Lk. 12:15; 1 Cor. 16:13; 2 Pet. 3:17; etc.)
- be slow to speak and to get angry (James 1:19)
- be alert and self-controlled (1 Thess. 5:6; 1 Pet. 5:8; etc.)
- be ready (Mt. 24:44; 25:10)
- be rich in good deeds, generous and willing to share (1 Tim 6:18)
- be generous on every occasion (2 Cor. 9:11)
- be sanctified (1 Thess. 4:3)
Remember also to BE DRESSED and ready for service … (Luke 12:35)! Be blessed (Lk. 14:14; James 1:25)!
