[Bible Comment] Hey…I don’t know how common this is but after I got converted and set free from the power of sin, I have been having dreams at night where I am doing wicked things or involved in wicked things. I know they are most likely from Satan but they keep happening. It’s like once I go to sleep I’m a different person in my dreams. The dreams are full of filth and I hate it because when I wake up I remember them. I know I have to just give it up to God, but it keeps happening pretty much every night now. I think Satan is trying to torment me. In Christ,
[Bible Answer] The enemy of our soul will attack us any and every way he can. If he can’t stop us from holding on and continuing in the faith (which he has with some others) he will certainly try to at least wound us or distract us somehow from being most effective. Disturbing dreams can be his tool too, as you are aware. (Dreams can come from other sources too.) This is a very intense warfare Christians are in against the forces of darkness.
Job was troubled by his dreams when he was being severely tested (Job 7:14). Paul, the greatest example of Christianity, took captive every thought:
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Cor 10:5)
Perhaps some of those thoughts came from dreams like you and Job had. Regardless, don’t be alarmed by those dreams. Go to God in prayer for deliverance, but move on and don’t let them adversely affect you. Keep yourself pure (1 Tim. 5:22). Fill your mind with Scripture, as much as possible. That will help in MANY ways as it gives you sweet peace. God bless you.
