Have you ever considered how valuable a quiet, peaceful dwelling is? Sometimes the widespread, even medicinal effects of peace and quiet are not readily noticed or appreciated, until they are taken away with noise, strife, violence and the like. Mockers, and other types of contentious people, are peace destroyers and should definitely be avoided just for that. The profound importance of peace and quiet is noted here:
Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife. (Prov 17:1)
One glorious day all wicked people will be separated from the righteous, then there will be great peace for the overcomers:
This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Mat 13:49,50)
For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace. (Psa 37:9-11)
That gives us an important detail about what heaven is like. It is a holy and musical place, where only the righteous will dwell, but amidst them will be GREAT PEACE. Imagine a peaceful dwelling like that. The question is, will you be there to enjoy serving God in that Paradise environment? Do you have peace with God NOW?
But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. (2 Pet 3:13,14)
Are you putting forth every effort, as mentioned there?
