Ugly and Painful SORES Awaiting The Mark of the Beast Recipients

Super action packed days are ahead when the events surrounding the mark of the beast unfold.body sores Of course, the issuing of the mark of the beast and the satanic reign of the antichrist has the attention of even the world in our hour. Too few seem to be fully aware of the ugly and painful sores which will break out on those who take the mark!

Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go, pour out the seven bowls of God’s wrath on the earth.” The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly and painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. (Rev 16:1,2)

The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was plunged into darkness. Men gnawed their tongues in agony and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done. (Rev 16:10,11)

Observations About Those Painful and Ugly Sores:

  • The first of the seven bowls of God’s wrath begins when painful and ugly sores break out on the bodies of those who took the mark, making those people alone the targets of this bowl of God’s wrath. So a temporal punishment even here before physical death is in store for those who sin in that way.
  • Since such painful and ugly sores have NOT broken out on people across the world for any mark, ID card, etc. that they have already taken (and since no particular mark on the forehead or hand is presently needed to buy or sell) then we must conclude, based on scripture, the real mark of the beast is NOT out yet.
  • The painful and ugly sores are not going to heal. At the point of the fifth bowl they are still present and inflicting agony. In fact, the eternally doomed people who have the mark, and the accompanying painful ugly sores, are in such agony they gnawed (or “chewed” Greek) their own tongues (which created more pain and agony)!

GREATEST DANGER: The sin of taking the mark of the beast is not forgivable, unlike what five point Calvinist John MacArthur and other false teachers declare.body sores mark of the beast [It is to your spiritual DISadvantage to listen to or read anything from heretic John MacArthur.] Those who take the mark of the beast will be tormented with burning sulfur, as the angelic warning stated (Rev. 14:9-12).

The reign of the antichrist is only 42 months (Rev. 13:5) and it will be ended by the return of the Lord Jesus Christ at Armageddon. Hence, for a Christian to defect by taking the mark, will cost him his salvation (over that single act) plus inflict him with extremely serious pain from ugly sores. He will only live another 42 months maximum in an utterly crazed society with the ability to buy or sell. Such is a most serious error, since the SOUL of man is his most valuable possession!

The SECOND CHANCE Doctrine

Among the myriads of false teachings in our hour there exists one which is not often mentioned — the second chance doctrine. second chance doctrineThe second chance doctrine states that those who have not sinned too greatly (and were not clearly taught bible truth) will be given a second chance during the 1000 year reign of Christ to be faithful to God. If those same people who received a second chance fail again, they will then be annihilated. If they succeed the second time they will live on forever!

Who are the ear-ticklers who especially spread such a doctrinal myth? They are the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the group founded by Herbert W. Armstrong and reinforced by his son, Garner Ted Armstrong. Since their deaths, variations of their groups have been created. Among the offshoots in our day is the United Church of God, which believes similarly. [I’m not sure about the Seventh Day Adventists believing that teaching or not.]

Second Chance Doctrine Destroys The Fear of God

Imagine believing there exists a second chance to make things right with God after death! How would that affect a person? My wife believed that for a while before we were married. For her it removed the fear of being eternally lost (as did her belief in annihilation) and the concern of obeying God here and now. That seems typical. Why try to enter the narrow gate (Lk. 13:23,24) now at all? Why not just eat, drink and be merry like the godless do? The second chance doctrine is a definite ear-tickler and another design of the devil, like once saved always saved and Catholicism.

NO Second Chances!

Folks, clearly there was no second chance for the rich Jew who died and was in fiery torment after his death. All his cries for mercy were denied (Lk. 16:19-31)! Furthermore, this idea of a second chance for people after their death conflicts with John 3:18b:

… whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. (John 3:18b)

That reflects the vital significance of spreading the gospel to all people for salvation’s sake this side of the grave. WHY go into all the world and preach to every creature if there is a second chance after death? [Don’t forget you can print FREE Bible-based materials to help Christians evangelize others.]

There definitely was NO second chance for the Sodomites who were destroyed in Sodom and Gomorrah! Clearly, their eternal fate is shown to be SUFFERING IN ETERNAL FIRE:

In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. (Jude 1:7)

Without question, sexual sin and perversion will damn one’s soul. Other scriptures show the same. Anyone who downplays the lethal seriousness of such sin unto death through their teachings is a dangerous wolf in sheep’s clothing! That includes ALL eternal security teachers and even some teachers who reject eternal security! Sexual immorality, though prevalent and minimized, is a soul damning sin.

The Christian life is the only victorious life which factually offers eternal life here and beyond the grave. The true Christian life is one lived free from all sin addictions in service to God (Rom. 6:22). It is a life which brings great peace and joy for all who have surrendered their will to God to follow and obey the Lord Jesus Christ here and now. They alone have been washed and cleansed from their sins and made new creations in Christ because of the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross.

In summary, there is no second chance for salvation after death. Your spiritual condition, at the point of your death, determines your eternal destiny! It will take a PURE HEART to see God (Mt. 5:8) through faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 15:9) and you must sow to please the Spirit to reap eternal life (Gal. 6:8,9). Reject the second chance doctrine!

Mommy Why Do People Have To Die

As a little Catholic boy, decades ago I asked my mother, “Why do people have to die,” as she was cleaning the bathroom. Tears came to her eyes and she answered, “I don’t know why.”

Greedy As The Grave

Now that I have been reading and studying the Bible for decades, the answer is simple.soul winning It’s because of Adam’s sin. Death now is all around us as it continues to gobble up families, friends and neighbors with nobody escaping! The Bible says “death is never satisfied” and uses the phrase, “greedy as the grave” (Hab. 2:5) to also convey this reality.

The Way of All The Earth

The Bible also uses the words, the way of all the earth (Josh. 23:14; 1 Kings 2:2) to describe death. In our age now, every living thing dies, including trees, animals, insects and people. Death is part of this uncertain life and the end of our life-long earthly test, which varies for us all.

Often when I speak to people about salvation I tell them we are dead meat waiting to happen, to grab their attention and try to wake them up! It is too easy for people to put off making sufficient preparations for their own departure. This planning has nothing to do with funeral preparations, such as a will or anything else in this natural world, as insightful as they all might be. To make sufficient preparations for death we must be at peace with God! That is the all-important preparation we must all make. One is at peace or at enmity with God at any given point. You might think, you are not at odds with him, but he is at odds with YOU because of your sins, UNLESS they are forgiven and your heart is currently PURE! Too many have been deceived by a whole host of DANGEROUS religious teachers and preachers who have minimized the sin issue. How common and disturbing to hear people say of someone who died, that he/she is in “heaven now without suffering.” Though that is a possibility, it is NOT the typical way it occurs, unfortunately! We would all like to believe in some universal salvation where everyone automatically goes to a Paradise, as most deceptive Near Death Experiences suggest, but Bible truth is far different!

A Dialog From Hades

The most unique part of the whole Bible on this topic is the actual dialog that occurred between righteous Abraham and a lost soul, a rich Jew. This teaching is typically called The Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). Clearly, that lost soul was in fiery conscious TORMENT after his death. While that man was alive, he lived in luxury daily, but he had a very rude and nightmarish change after his death!

Among other truths, that lost soul knew then, from the fiery torment he was in, that REPENTANCE is what is needed to prevent one from having the same fate. Hence, he wanted his brothers to get that message and repent to avoid going to where he was.

He also tried to send a message to them from beyond the grave, but none would be sent! Hence, all seances are a demonic deception. In fact, to even go to one, or have any involvement in any form of Spiritism,  is a wicked abomination and needs to be repented of. IF you lost a loved one, that person does NOT want you to go to Hell where the lost are, even if he/she is there now!

It’s Your Choice

IF you go to Hell, it will be your fault. IF you go to Hell, it is NOT because God predestined you as non-elect. IF you go to Hell, it will be because, at the point of your death your heart was not spiritually pure. Hence, you must turn from sin and follow Jesus through this life. Hold on to what you have (Rev. 3:11). See Gal. 6:8,9 about how to reap eternal life.

One final truth that has brought us comfort regarding our departed family members is this, and it is worthy of remembering: No one will be in fiery torment who should not be there; and everyone who should be in Paradise will be there! If your departed loved one went to heaven, you’ll not be with them unless you get Biblically saved (Acts 20:21) and endure to the end afterwards (Mt. 10:22).

Based on the above, have you made adequate preparations for the inevitable? Are you making your life count for God NOW? Do it while you still can! Your short life is speeding by and will soon be ended.

Prayers of the Lord Jesus Christ

All of the prayers of the Lord Jesus Christ are powerful and important. The ones selected here are only a few, but we can learn from each.

Jesus’ Prayer For Those Who Mistreated and Crucified Him

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing ….” (Luke 23:34)

IF they knew who Jesus was and what he was doing to help us all, they would never have treated the Lord Jesus the way they did. Because they SINNED by their cruel mistreatment, they were in serious spiritual trouble.Jesus’ prayers Jesus prayed that those sins committed against them would be forgiven. This prayer seemed to be a model in that type of situation, for Stephen prayed to Jesus that same similar way when people were stoning him to death (Acts 7:59,60).

(For those specific sins to be forgiven, as Jesus prayed here, does not mean all their sins were forgiven and they went to heaven after their death.)

Jesus’ Prayer To Escape The Painful Crucifixion

“Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” (Mark 14:36)

Jesus was true man and true deity. He felt pain, hunger, etc. Here he prays to escape what was going to happen, IF that would be the Father’s will. Since there was no other way for mankind to be redeemed except by the blood of Jesus Christ (the lamb of God without blemish), then Jesus would have to die on the cross for the sins of everyone. It was our ONLY hope for salvation and the Lord Jesus came through for us all. He is most worthy of our devotion  and love.

Jesus’ Prayer For Peter

“But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”  (Luke 22:32)

The first half of that prayer is magnified, but the context is ignored which is vital for a proper understanding of what happened to Peter. Peter needed to turn back to God for he disowned Jesus thrice (and Jesus disowned him). The NKJV says Peter needed to be “converted,” the same word used in James 5:19,20 where a person in the truth falls away and turns back (gets converted again) for salvation’s sake. There is nothing in Luke 22:32, or anywhere, which denies Jesus disowned Peter for what he did (Mt. 10:33)! Don’t allow false teachers to mislead you about this, based on Jesus praying so his faith wouldn’t fail.

Jesus Prayers From The Throne For The Saints

Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died–more than that, who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. (Rom 8:34)

Jesus prayed for his disciples in John 17 (called his high priestly prayer), but here in Romans 8:34 the resurrected Lord of Glory is praying also in a generic and undesignated way for the saints! There is no way of knowing how bad this spiritual Christian battle would be without his powerful prayers for us, but they are necessary! Also, even though the Lord is presently praying for us, many saints still get misled into sin and various types of false doctrines. That reveals free will and human responsibility on our part to maintain our relationship with God. Unfortunately, spiritual casualties continue and too many of the righteous die spiritually by turning to evil (1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph. 5:5-7). Because that is a very real possibility, the devil continues to tempt. If that could not occur, his temptations would be futile. Jesus’ prayers are and have been vital.

Jeremiah the True Prophet and Pashhur the False Prophet

Certain parts of the Bible seem super charged by the example and courage of righteous men, who remained faithful at that moment. In Jeremiah 20 we read of such an encounter that occurred.Jeremiah in stocks May all Christians carefully ponder the following and remember as it occurred, Jeremiah stood alone staring hatred, unbelief and potential death square in the face!

  • When the priest Pashhur son of Immer, the chief officer in the temple of the LORD, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things, he had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put in the stocks at the Upper Gate of Benjamin at the Lord’s temple.  (Jer 20:1, 2)

The context shows the words that Pashhur heard from Jeremiah were at least these:

This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Listen! I am going to bring on this city and the villages around it every disaster I pronounced against them, because they were stiff-necked and would not listen to my words.” (Jer 19:15)

COMMENT: Jeremiah was hated and persecuted because he faithfully spoke out God’s message to a sinful and unrepentant people. His chief enemy here (Pashhur) was a religious leader, who had power to have him beaten and put in stocks. The brutal and unjust treatment Jeremiah got implies he shed his blood under this wave of persecution. He was also made a public display of shame as people passed by the Upper Gate of Benjamin. Similar treatment occurred at times to New Testament Christians:

Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. (Heb 10:33)

Serving God is NOT a proverbial bed of roses! It has never been that way and never will be. We are in enemy territory with a mission to accomplish the will of God. We are grossly outnumbered by the ungodly, but must press on as good soldiers of Jesus Christ, for SOULS are at stake. TRUTH is what they hate and they will sometimes persecute the truth-giver.

  • The next day, when Pashhur released him from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him, “The Lord’s name for you is not Pashhur, but Magor-Missabib. For this is what the LORD says: ‘I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; with your own eyes you will see them fall by the sword of their enemies. I will hand all Judah over to the king of Babylon, who will carry them away to Babylon or put them to the sword. I will hand over to their enemies all the wealth of this city–all its products, all its valuables and all the treasures of the kings of Judah. They will take it away as plunder and carry it off to Babylon.  And you, Pashhur, and all who live in your house will go into exile to Babylon. There you will die and be buried, you and all your friends to whom you have prophesied lies.’” (Jer 20:3-6)

COMMENT: Jeremiah, just released from the stocks, stood in front of the same wicked man who initially had the political power to have him beaten and placed in those stocks and boldly spoke out more prophetic words of truth to his displeasure. Fearlessly, Jeremiah gave Pashhur with truth, as God gave the words. Some of it was a personal prophecy, but unlike the dangerous false personal prophecies we often hear about in our day.

This chapter is the first time we hear of Pashhur son of Immer, but in Jer. 20:6 we learn he “prophesied lies” without the specifics. That means he was a false prophet. NOTE: Pashhur the false prophet had power and influence over Jeremiah the true prophet to persecute to that degree. Pashhur was a counterfeit and did physical harm to God’s servant and God allowed it! Furthermore, Pashhur’s hatred and rejection of the unpleasant truth Jeremiah spoke didn’t change anything. Everything remained the same, including the outcome for Judah, except Pashhur’s actions won’t go by unnoticed by our avenging God (Heb. 10:30)!

Jesus spoke of a prophet’s rewards in Mt. 10:41. It seems a prophet’s reward will be great for their courage and personal sufferings they faced to speak out God’s word to do his will in their lives. [BTW, Paul and Silas were in stocks too, Acts 16:24,25.]

Catholic Relics

Part of Catholicism are their relics. Catholic relics are the physical remains (piece of bone, hair, etc.) of a so-called holy person, as a memorial and for veneration. There are different classes of Catholic relics, from first to third and they exist in different varieties.

First To Third Class Catholic Relics

Catholic relics range from a piece of the body of a saint (first class) to an item owned or used by the saint (second class) to an object which has been touched to the tomb of a saint or a first class relic (third class)! God's mercyThe possibilities of third class Catholic relics are endless.

Of course, relics are not part of Biblical Christianity. The NT church didn’t have relics of Job, Isaiah, Joshua, etc. Catholicism actually copies pagan traditions (Buddhism, Hinduism, Shamanism,) with their relic veneration, but such is part of their so-called Sacred Traditions, which they have elevated on a par with Holy Writ itself!

Catholic Relics For Sale

As with paying a fee for a worthless Catholic marriage annulment (like Frank Sinatra did), one can also pay a fee to purchase a “first class” Catholic relic of Alponsus Liguori, the Apostle of Mary for personal veneration! The frauds involved in counterfeit relics must be plentiful, for how can any person in our day know that a small fragment of a bone is actually from the Catholic saint it allegedly came from hundreds of years ago? Of course, a paper certificate can’t really demonstrate the authenticity of the body part either. They can be in error or counterfeited too. [NOTE: Catholic saints, with the exception of Biblical ones (like Paul, John, Peter, etc.) are NOT real Christians at all. An example of such is Alphonsus Liguori. He is a Catholic saint (and doctor), yet he was a blazing idolatrous heretic, who is still honored and exalted in Roman Catholicism post Vatican Council II!]

Catholic Sacred Tradition and Relics

If one departs from Scripture, he will veer of on a tangent into superstition and religious pagan practices.

Do not go beyond what is written …. (1 Cor 4:6)

Don’t be fooled by Catholic Sacred Tradition. There is NOTHING “sacred” about venerating a fragment of someone’s bone or piece of hair, even if it was genuinely from the named person! The Bible ALONE is final spiritual authority and God ALONE is to be worshiped. Avoid Catholic relics.

Though there is one death bed repentance shown in scripture — the dying repentant thief who went to Paradise after death (Luke 23:42,43) — it is super risky and the most foolish thing to plan for!   • present love for sin and the ways of this world
  • ignorance of the most extreme danger you are in now with its horrific future ahead for all who die without a pure heart!

They Remain Against Jesus

Since there is NO neutrality with God, to plan to repent when you’re dying is also to reveal you are presently AGAINST JESUS. That is another way of saying you are an ANTI Christ!

He who is not with me [Jesus] is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. (Mat 12:30)

Perhaps, the putrid examples of professing Christians have left a bitter taste in the mouth of would be death bed repenters. To many on the outside, being a Christian is boring and burdensome. They can’t imagine the peace, joy and fulfillment in serving God and helping others find eternal life in Jesus Christ. They have no clue either about the wonderful freedom from sin’s slavery. Hence, they procrastinate with repentance unto life (Acts 11:18), as the devil wants. Let that point be magnified! A death bed repentance person is obeying the devil, not God! God says today is the day of salvation, now is the accepted time (2 Cor. 6:2), but they are following their father, the devil (John 8:44) in hopes that the God they hate will give them one last chance to repent as they are dying. Imagine risking all eternity for a little bit more time to serve demons and the flesh! That is what they are doing.

Hell fire is no joke, but a definite reality which claims most people, yet some want “one more night with the frogs” (Ex. 8:9,10) rather than peace with God and deliverance now! That type of spiritual blindness is the worst type of blindness, but often goes unnoticed in our society because so many are thus afflicted with it. “They know not what they do” by procrastinating.

I personally know a man who had hoped to take advantage of death bed repentance. Decades later he still wasn’t following Jesus. He later got alzheimer’s disease and suddenly died. It was reported that he couldn’t be left alone at the very end because he would hurt himself. It appears that the devil got another one – one who wanted death bed repentance! Now it is too late for him to repent forever!

A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed–without remedy. (Prov 29:1)

Pope Francis To Address USA Congress — The World is Changing

Shocking but true – Pope Francis will address the United States Congress in September 2015. This is the first time this has ever occurred in the history of the USA! Furthermore, he is speaking to Congress by way of an invitation! Pope Francis on throne of bonesImagine that!

Saying he had “a bit of good news,” House Speaker John Boehner delivered first word of Francis’ speech at his weekly news conference Thursday. “We’re humbled that the Holy Father has accepted our invitation and certainly look forward to receiving his message on behalf of the American people,” Boehner, R-Ohio, told reporters. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said in a written statement that she looks forward to “hearing his call to live our values, to protect the poor and the needy, and to promote peace.” When he speaks to lawmakers, Francis will address a Congress that is 31 percent Catholic, well above the 22 percent of all Americans, according to a survey released last month by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center. The pope speaking to Congress is something brand new and perhaps the start of an even more malignant religious influence in the USA, than that which already exists! Time will tell.

Maybe while Pope Francis is visiting, Kenneth Copeland might have him over to address one of his crusades, as an extended token of blessing and unity with him.  Perhaps Kenneth Copeland will also share some wine with Pope Francis in a meeting somewhere, as he did before! Maybe Billy Graham, Jack Van Impe, Charles Colson, Rick Warren and hundreds of other religious leaders will throw a special private celebration for Pope Francis too. All of the non-Catholic examples of our day are all much less than admirable. The worst part is precious SOULS continue to be hurt by this false unity we are constantly exposed to!

Evangelical Observations

  • Among other ways the Pope is addressed, here he is called “Holy Father”! Those same exact words (Holy Father) are given to the heavenly Father and only to him once in the entire bible (John 17:11). Yet, Catholicism has ascribed that same title for God to their chief leader, who stands behind all of the blatant idolatries and heretical teachings rampant throughout Roman Catholicism! [Some of the other titles given to the pope are Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of the Prince of the Apostles and Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church.]
  • The mere fact that the United States is 22% Catholic shows this country is a vast mission field in itself! Over 1 in 5 people in the USA are Catholic, not to mention all the eternal security proponents, Atheists, Jews, Muslims, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons and others walking in spiritual darkness and death.

The USA is Surely NOT 76% Christian

How misleading and disturbing it is to hear from some that 76% of the USA population is Christian! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if it was true? However, unless people learn and act upon the real gospel, which centers around Jesus Christ and his infinite work on the cross, his death, burial, resurrection and attached CONDITIONAL security for the believer (1 Cor. 15:1-4) such is an impossibility! It takes heart-felt, humble, sincere repentance and faith in Jesus (not Mary too) to get forgiven and freed from sin by Jesus’ holy cleansing blood. Only in that narrow gospel can one find true peace with God and freedom from sin’s slavery. All false religions lack the power to produce that for it is the TRUTH that sets one free (John 8:34-36 cf. Rom. 6:22) and the freedom is from slavery to sin, including sexual addictions, drunkenness and drugs. Group therapy, AA, psychologists, etc. are NOT the way of treating such addictions since they are rooted in the spiritual. That is why the one and only gospel is so vital and precious. It is to be guarded and spread by the Lord’s followers. Those who preach a false gospel give people false hopes with their empty words, which will also anathematize that same false teacher.

Another Drunken Night a Potential DUI and All WITHOUT Jesus

Our society and present apostate church are filled with immoral people, including many drunkards! drunkennessGetting drunk is self-destructive, but the world’s way of anesthetizing the pain of this miserable, painful and cursed world. It is a unique sin which adversely affects the thinking processes and motor skills of the drunk. God says drunkards will not inherit his kingdom, just like adulterers, thieves, homosexuals and others, that is, unless they get forgiven and set free by the Lord Jesus (1 Cor. 6:9-11).

It is amazing how many DUI offenses of famous people are available to read about, if one wants to. That shows having a lot of money, being popular and the like is not the way to inner peace and contentment. Because drunkenness is so rampant, DUIs range from secular figures to leaders in high religious positions. Remember, a DUI is only cited if one is caught by the police. Just think how many DUIs there would be if all drunkards on the road were caught. Drinking alcohol has taken its toll. The physical damage done to one’s body, and too often through car wrecks, is clear proof, but far beyond that is the spiritual damage.

Bottoms Up, Catholic Mel Gibson

) is nothing new, but surely when people associated with religion get a DUI it is noticed. drunkenness
That happened with Mel Gibson, the producer of The Passion of Christ movie in 2006. Sadly, Mel got caught driving under the numbing and dulling influence of alcohol. Mel Gibson is a religious figure (a Catholic), yet he turned to alcohol. WHY? Perhaps he knows no other way since the liberating power of the real gospel is unknown in Catholicism. The sacraments, Mary and being a Catholic can’t set anyone free from their sin addictions! Hence, Mel Gibson in 2006 remained lost and a slave to sin. Another DUI For Episcopal Leader, Heather Cook

Around Christmas of 2014, Episcopal Bishop Heather Cook was driving drunk and struck and killed a man on his bicycle. That was her second known DUI! (

Hank Williams was also a religious person and an alcoholic, who sang and wrote songs. One of his songs was House of God! He was another tragedy of a wasted life, like Elvis Presley. Don’t forget lesser known Shane Gandee. He too was a drunkard.

What is wrong? Why are so many religious figures also drunkards when they profess to knowing about Jesus’ death on the cross? Again, the problem includes their powerless and worthless gospel. Because their gospel isn’t the one and only true gospel, it therefore is without the ability to set one free from his sin addictions and radically change a person for the good, as all true Christians can identify with (Rom. 6:22). That reflects the root problem with all false teachings regarding salvation. They have no ability to overcome sin’s slavery, and that fact applies to Jehovah’s Witnesses to Mormons to Catholics, etc.

Alcoholism is a Spiritual Problem

The addiction to alcohol is a spiritual problem, according to scripture! Many Christians can testify to the fact that they have been instantly delivered from such a gripping addiction when they humbly and sincerely repented to serve God and consequently came to initial salvation. Furthermore, 1 Cor. 6:11 says such “were” [past tense] some of you, referring to people in the Corinthian church. They “were” drunkards before salvation, but not anymore! AA is wrong! The “truth set them free” (Jn. 8:32) and that “TRUTH” was/is the Lord Jesus Christ. One is set free only if he dies to self and crucifies his flesh. Such a wise action will set any sin addict free from alcoholism to pornography to drugs! The power of Jesus’ blood is greater than any sin, regardless what it is.

For all the religious drunkards who may read this, remember the greatest danger is not a DUI and losing your license or going to jail. The greatest danger for you is eternal damnation in unquenchable fire prepared for the devil and his angels! Remember also, IF you are addicted to any sin, including drunkenness — YOU are not a Christian now, even though you might have been one at some earlier point. Also, the Lord Jesus can and WILL set you free completely, if you do it his way, since drunkenness and other such addictions are a spiritual problem and he is the Great Physician.
