Mysteries In Revelation

Bible mysteries of different types are found throughout scripture, but perhaps the book of Revelation has more than any other! Below are several that are interesting to think about. Without question, there remains many secrets about future things and events, which God has not decided to disclose to the living saints at this point.

The Mystery of the Hidden Manna and White Stone with New Name

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna.bible-mysteries
I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it. (Rev 2:17)

God fed the Israelites with manna for 40 years — the longest miracle in the bible. That “bread from heaven” apparently had all the vitamins and minerals the Israelites needed to be healthy. Now for the final overcomers there will be hidden manna, suggesting there will be the eating of hidden manna in the kingdom, besides the fruit from the tree of life (Rev. 2:7; etc.).

The white stone with a new name written on it is a complete mystery. The purpose and importance of both are totally hidden from us all at this point, but surely exciting days are ahead because of what God has prepared for those who love him (1 Cor. 2:9)! The wicked dead will never find the answers to these bible mysteries, if they even care.

Mystery of the Morning Star

I will also give him the morning star. (Rev 2:28)

Overcomers will also get the morning star! In Rev. 22:16, Jesus is the morning star – one of the many titles of Jesus:

I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.

Will the overcomers get a different morning star? For sure, getting the morning star is significantly important, but for what purpose? It too is a mystery, but suggests something very different from our current way of functioning in this present world.

Mystery of the Seven Spirits of God

Throughout scripture we read of the Holy Spirit, but in Revelation we read of the seven spirits [of God] on four occasions!

John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, (Rev 1:4)

To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. (Rev 3:1)

From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. Before the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God. (Rev 4:5)

Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. (Rev 5:6)

All we know about the mysterious seven spirits of God is that they are before the throne of God (1:4) blazing as lamps (4:5), Jesus holds the seven spirits of God (3:1), and they are sent out into all the earth (5:6). Possibly the same seven spirits of God are also referred to and named in Isaiah:

The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him– the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD  (Isa 11:2)

  • the Spirit of the LORD
  • the Spirit of wisdom
  • the Spirit of understanding
  • the Spirit of counsel
  • the Spirit of power
  • the Spirit of knowledge
  • the Spirit of the fear of the LORD

That number does equal seven! While Jesus holds the seven spirits of God (Rev. 3:1), Jesus also had the Spirit without limit (Jn. 3:34), possibly referring to all seven spirits.

The Mystery of the Seven Thunders and Their Message

… When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders spoke. And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down.” (Rev 10:3,4)

A double mystery is, who are the seven thunders and what was their message John wasn’t allowed to write down? That means John was privy to critical information from them which no one else was, just as Paul who heard inexpressible things in heaven that he wasn’t permitted to tell (2 Cor 12:4).

Wonderful and glorious, but mysterious things, are awaiting the righteous in God’s PARADISE kingdom. The ones who die pure in heart will have a long time to get adjusted to that Paradise environment and the things which are unexplainable to us at this point. Obviously, the big issue is dying faithful to God to get all that and avoid being hurt by the lake of fire (second death) – Rev. 2:10,11. Do you know Jesus NOW (1 John 2:3,4)

Mary Was Never The Ark of the Covenant

Mariolatry is the idolatrous exaltation of Mary, the mother of Jesus. Such is commonplace in Catholicism. Part of the many ways Catholicism distorts God’s word to warp Mary’s true image is to present her sometimes as a type of the Ark of the Covenant, one of Mary’s many titles in Catholicism!mary ark of the covenant

The original Ark of the Covenant, built by Bezelel, was a wooden box overlaid in gold and topped by the mercy seat with pure gold cherubim on it. The rationale in Catholicism is, since Mary was pregnant with Jesus (who is God in the flesh), then she was like a type of the Ark of the Covenant to have God in her physical body. Such reflects their Mariolatry, as does approving the demonic Fatima apparitions, canonizing Alphonsus Ligouri, the apostle of Mary, and receiving the papal statements that Mary is needed for our salvation!

Mary, The Ark of the Covenant – IMPOSSIBLE

It is an impossible, inconsistent conclusion to say Mary was the the Ark of the Covenant for various reasons:

(1) Neither the Lord Jesus, nor any of his followers (including Peter) ever considered Mary in that exalted way. Furthermore, there is NO hint in scripture that the righteous ever exalted Mary in any way above any other disciple!

The Memorare Prayer To Mary EXPOSED

(2) All of God’s children are the temple of God (Heb. 3:6; 1 Cor. 3:16,17) now. If Mary was the Ark of the Covenant because she housed Jesus while pregnant for 9 months, then ALL of God’s children are also the Ark of the Covenant because we now house God in our physical bodies and perhaps for many years. That alone nullifies Mary as the unique Ark of the Covenant, as portrayed by Catholicism.

Catholics need to adopt a Biblical view of things, which includes how God views Mary because she bore the baby Jesus and nursed him. Jesus himself clarifies that in a most powerful and distinct way, when correcting a Catholic-like woman in his day:

As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Luke 11:27,28)

The doctrine of Mary in the Catholic church is idolatrous and violently different from Scripture! Mary is NOT the mediatrix and dispenser of all grace, nor is she “our life, sweetness and hope.” Reject Catholicism and all papal authority for your own SOUL’S sake!

Saint Joab – Could It Be?

If you are acquainted with King David’s life, his military commander was Joab for many years. Besides being fearless, Joab was a cold, hard-hearted, murderous and very influential man.who was joab Joab and his brother, Abishai, were too strong for King David to control and the king even admitted it:

And today, though I am the anointed king, I am weak, and these sons of Zeruiah [Joab, Abishai] are too strong for me. May the LORD repay the evildoer according to his evil deeds! (2 Sam 3:39)

David himself believed that after Joab killed Abner [the commander in chief of Saul’s army] for killing Joab’s youngest brother, Asahel. Later, Joab also murdered Amasa (2 Sam. 20:9-12), the military commander of Judah’s army!

Over the years, Joab remained faithful to David until the end of David’s life when Adonijah conspired to take the kingdom away from his own father! Joab turned on David and went with Adonijah! When Joab found out about Adonijah’s defeat, this happened:

When the news reached Joab, who had conspired with Adonijah though not with Absalom, he fled to the tent of the LORD and took hold of the horns of the altar. (1 Ki 2:28)

It was there that Benaiah killed Joab by order of Solomon.

How To Find Peace With God

Did Joab Plead For Mercy and Forgiveness

For Joab to flee to the horns of the altar (where sacrifices for sin were offered) and take hold of the horns, strongly suggests he was pleading for mercy because he knew he was going to die. Could it be that the hard-hearted and murderous Joab was crying out to God for mercy at the end of his life? Could it be he got forgiven? His actions indicate he probably was humbly seeking God’s mercy by being there. Did God forgive him? There is nothing clear on that, but if God forgave Manasseh (the most wicked man in the Bible) he certainly could have forgiven Joab too.

Surprises in the Kingdom

Without question, there will be surprises in the Kingdom for the overcomers, the ones who endure to the end to be saved (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; Rev. 2:10,11). Those surprises include who will be there and who won’t be there! Unless it was written down in the Bible as it is, no one would think a man like Joab would flee to the horns of the altar, but he did! Perhaps, some of the vile people you and I know humbly cried out to God before they died, without us being aware of it. If they humbly looked to JESUS in repentance, we can only conclude they were forgiven, as the repentant thief was (Luke 23:42,43). Maybe, just maybe, Joab might be in God’s kingdom with the pure in heart (Mt. 5:8). Joab might be part of the big surprise there, similar to the repentant thief. If Joab did get forgiven at the end of his life or not, do NOT think you can wait till you are dying to repent. If you have sins in your life, NOW is the time to repent. You might never have another chance to repent to escape hell.

Pope Francis Marriage Annulment Fantasy

The Catholic church, shockingly, assumes for itself the ability to annul (or cancel out) a marriage of perhaps many years! God didn’t grant the Catholic church that ability or any special power. It surely doesn’t say that anywhere in the bible.pope francis marriage annulment The Catholic church just claims for itself that power and has been “annulling” marriages for centuries that God has joined!

Recently (in September 2015), however, idolater Pope Francis has made it much easier for Catholics worldwide to annul their own marriage without the usual costly fees to “marry” another person! Francis wants marriage annulments to be FREE.

The Empty Anathemas In Catholicism

In the same article, the Catholic church speaks of the “indissolubility of marriage” and that marriage is “forever,” but brazenly contradicts itself with their bogus fraudulent marriage annulment, which does dissolve the marriage in the eyes of Catholics!

Catholic doctrine holds that a church marriage is forever. An annulment is a judgment by a church tribunal that the marriage had some inherent defect from the start. Reasons vary, including that the couple never intended their marriage to last or that one of the spouses didn’t want children. Catholics have long complained that it can take years to get an annulment, if they can get one at all. Costs can reach into the hundreds or thousands of dollars for legal and tribunal fees. Without the annulment, divorced Catholics who remarry outside the church are considered to be adulterers living in sin and are forbidden from receiving Communion — a dilemma at the core of a current debate roiling the church. Francis has already called for annulments to be free, saying all Catholics have the right to justice from the church. He has also said the church should take into account that ignorance of the faith can be a reason to declare a marriage invalid. [msn.com]

At Least 6 Popes Heretically Taught Salvation Through Mary

These marriage annulments are a baseless myth founded on false authority, just as empty as Joseph Smith’s self-exalting claims in Mormonism. Through these Catholic marriage annulments, ADULTERY has proliferated over the years, but now remarriage adultery will increase even more! What a cesspool of sin, wickedness and false doctrine the Catholic church is! With 1.2 billion precious souls being under the sway of the Pope, this is another victory for the devil. It is just as Jesus taught, that is, a wicked and adulterous generation and Pope Francis has just helped exponentially with that type of wickedness!

Guard Against Spiritual Sleep

Did you know there are two types of sleep? There are. One is a physical necessity, while the other is to be strictly avoided spiritually! Spiritual analogies to the natural definitely exist and spiritual sleep is one of them.spiritual sleep Spiritual sleep is also one of the many things the Lord Jesus warned about:

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back–whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’ (Mark 13:32-37)

Do NOT Let Him Find You Sleeping!

The context of the above is the return of the owner (Jesus) to his house, but what is this dangerous spiritual sleep? Mark 13:33 say, “Be on guard. Be alert!” That is contrasted to spiritual sleep. Hence, spiritual sleep is to be off your spiritual guard and not alert. That same concept is shown in one of the Pauline epistles:

So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the HOPE of salvation as a helmet. (1 Thess. 5:6-8)

Be Alert and Self-Controlled

To be alert and self-controlled is a common mandate found in the Scriptures and are especially the needed qualities to prevent the devil from devouring us (1 Peter 5:8)! Spiritual sleep is a major problem in our long distance race and overtook the majority at Sardis, who needed to wake up:

Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. (Rev 3:2)

The distractions of this life can wipe us out from being spiritually fruitful, if we are not careful. We must remain focused. We live in this world, but are merely passing through as an alien and stranger. The Christian life is also a walk of faith where we must look beyond the tangible. Remember the Parable of the Sower and the thorns and also Jesus’ warning about not being caught sleeping when Jesus returns. He’s coming back, ready or not!

Bezalel

The little known Bezalel was an important character in the days of Moses when the Tent of Meeting was being constructed in accordance to God’s detailed instructions. In his day, Bezalel was the go to man for craftsmanship. He was specially and uniquely talented, because he was filled with the Spirit of God, to work on different things for the Tabernacle:

See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts– to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship. (Exo 31:2-5)

Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts– to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship.” (Exo 35:30-33)

God wanted the Tabernacle to be constructed a certain way and it was not shabby in the slightest! There were beautiful works of art and designs in the Tabernacle done in gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood. Bezalel, and others, were behind it.

Observations About Bezalel

  • He was filled with the Spirit of God, yet there is no record he spoke in tongues, as we see in the New Testament! So, YES people in the Old Testament were filled with the Spirit of God! Also, though Bezalel was filled with the Spirit of God, he was not a bold preacher, like John the Baptist, who also was filled with God’s Spirit. Bezalel’s God given manual abilities, which were needed, were with all kinds of crafts. The listings of spiritual gifts in the New Testament (Rom. 12:6-8; 1 Cor. 12:7-11), mention no such gift as Bezalel had, perhaps because there is no need for his unique craftsmanship abilities today since the house of God is now the physical bodies of Christians (1 Cor. 3:16,17; Heb. 3:6) and not any man-made structure.

Bezalel had nothing to boast of, since his unique and needed abilities were a gift to him. That is not to say he was boasting, for there is no mention of such. Any gift we, likewise, have to serve God has also come from God himself. We have nothing to boast of either. Nothing! Boasting in that way is a sign of ignorance and reflects pride, one of the conditions the devil wants to get us in to devour us just like unforgiveness, hate, lust, jealousy, envy, etc.

Jesus’ Disciples Should Have Pondered Bezalel

Remember Bezalel when you ponder the passages in the NT where Jesus’ disciples were arguing over who was the greatest among them (Mk. 9:34; Lk. 9:46; 22:24). The Lord Jesus gave a hell warning to his own disciples for that:

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never ENTER the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Mat 18:1-4)

NOTE: Jesus’ warning was about not entering the kingdom of heaven and is not a rewards passage. After initial salvation, we must stay humble, which is easier if you realize any abilities you have, were given to you by God! We must be like little children in that way. Pride is a spiritual killer, as God opposes the proud. Remember Bezalel.

Vissarion – The Siberian FALSE Christ

The Lord Jesus warned us of different types of religious deception. He stated that some would come from FALSE prophets and FALSE Christs! Vissarion, the Siberian so-called “voice of God,” is a negative fulfillment of such Bible prophecy claiming a divine connection to God!

At that time if anyone says to you, “Look, here is the Christ!” or,vissarion false christ “There he is!” do not believe it. For FALSE CHRISTS and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect–if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time. So if anyone tells you, “There he is, out in the desert,” DO NOT GO OUT; or, “Here he is, in the inner rooms,” do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. (Mat 24:23-27)

Vissarion (a former patrol officer) and his 5,000 followers call themselves The Church of the Last Testament. Their community resides in the Russian Taiga forest, 100 miles away from the nearest town. Vissarion falsely claims to be the reincarnation of Jesus and to be speaking the word of God. He also claims he was sent by God to save people! Among other things, Vissarion teaches that suicide (self murder) is okay! His followers (all vegans) call him “the teacher,” which contradicts another scripture:

But you are not to be called “Rabbi,” for you have only one Master and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth “father,” for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Nor are you to be called “teacher,” for you have one Teacher, the Christ. (Mat 23:8-10)

His teachings contain elements of the Russian Orthodox Church with Buddhism, but he also wants to unite all faiths. Vissarion who also considers Mary, the mother of Jesus, his own mother looks gentle and harmless, but he is a DEADLY spiritual viper, as he is leading others to hell with himself:

If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit. (Mat 15:14)

Vissarion — Just Another DANGEROUS Counterfeit

There is no need for Vissarion or other imposters like him. Jesus of Nazareth, the real Savior of mankind (Acts 4:12; John 14:6; 1 Tim. 2:5; etc.) and last Adam (1 Cor. 15:45), said “it is finished” from the cross (John 19:30) meaning our redemption is paid in full by himself and with Jesus’ own blood (Acts 20:28) (with no help from Mary).

Citing no empirical evidence or historical record, Mitchell said extraterrestrials made regular visits to our planet to save us from ourselves during the height of the Cold War. He said “many Air Force officers” told him about working with aliens at missile bases during the height of the Cold War, including NASA’s White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico. “White Sands was a testing ground for atomic weapons — and that’s what the extraterrestrials were interested in,” he told the British tabloid, just in time for the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. “They wanted to know about our military capabilities.” The humans working at those facilities said “UFOs were frequently seen overhead and often disabled their missiles,” Mitchell said. Edgar Mitchell has been talking about UFO and alien theories for decades, despite acknowledging it is “speculation” on his part. “Other officers from bases on the Pacific coast told me their (test) missiles were frequently shot down by alien spacecraft,” he added. “There was a lot of activity in those days.” [http://www.nydailynews.com]

Intelligent Alien Life Is Allowed In The Bible

Wow! What a story! How does that compare to the Bible’s account of the destruction of a city?

When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the people tremble? When disaster comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it? (Amos 3:6)

The truth is, God determines when and if a city will be destroyed, not aliens, ETs or anything else. It is repulsive to think that aliens are being exalted to a type of savior of the world, delivering the planet from nuclear war!

Nuclear War Is In The Future — Aliens or No Aliens!

Folks, sad as it may be, nuclear war is strongly suggested in the book of Revelation.edgar mitchell What else could the following be? You decide:

The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.  The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water — the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter. (Rev 8:7-11)

Other scriptures also allude to nuclear war. Hence, if that does describe nuclear war, then the aliens (if they exist) didn’t prevent it, but God allowed it! If the aliens don’t prevent that future event, why give them credit for anything in the past? Again, it is GOD who brings disaster or deliverance to a city or country, not aliens. Not a sparrow falls to the ground apart from the will of the Father (Mt. 10:29)! Aliens, if they do exist, are irrelevant. God is the deciding factor.

Strict Training For The Prize But Which Type Of Crown

The Bible teaches to train hard to win the prize, but which type of prize and what type of training? Notice how the bible states the Christian life is to be as a racer going after first prize:

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?crown of leaves that will perish Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. (1 Cor 9:24-27)

In our apostate world, sports is a definite IDOL and the athletes are today’s heroes and role models – sometimes treated like a god. Even in the so-called church this is sadly true. One must ask, are the lavishly paid sports heroes really winners or horrible losers?

Michael Phelps and His Crown That Will Not Last

Michael Fred Phelps II is the most decorated Olympian of all time, with a total of 22 medals!crown that perishes Phelps also holds the all-time records for Olympic gold medals, winning 8 gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Games! He is a tremendous swimmer and athlete.

His training regimen included at least 2 to 5 hours in the pool every day of the year! Since 2004 he added weightlifting. He dedicated himself to swimming and is a definite star in the eyes of the world, but spiritually how is Michael Phelps?

Drunken Michael Phelps

Sad for anyone is an alcohol and/or drug problem. That even includes Michael Phelps. In November 2004 he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Paul Trained in a Different Way For a Much Better Crown

Shocking but true is the fact that the Christian life actually teaches STRICT TRAINING to win first prize, but how can that be, since the Christian life is presented so much differently? Paul’s strict training resulted in him being holy, righteous and blameless (1 Thess. 2:10), as well as being VERY FRUITFUL for the kingdom. As a Hebrew of Hebrews (Phil. 3:5) and Pharisee (Acts 23:6), Paul was spreading God’s truth and winning souls, NOT merely going after gold metals. He went after something of real value!

Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. (1 Cor 9:19-23)

From 2004 to 2014 Michael Phelps displayed evidence of being a slave to sin. His exceptional swimming abilities didn’t change that! The same holds true for all athletes, politicians, inventors, scientists, computer developers, etc. Man has a serious spiritual problem affecting his behavior. He is a slave to sin! The ONLY remedy is the powerful and cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, which anyone can contact upon sincere and humble repentance to God and faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21 cf. Rev. 1:5). Making known that remedy should be the main goal in the Christian life, not wasting time trying to be the best in any athletic field. Dear professing Christian, are you strictly training like Paul or Michael Phelps? Which type of crown are you trying to win? One will be lasting – the other is essentially meaningless and very temporary.

Remember: True victory and success are NOT how long you live, how much money you gather or how many gold metals you have won. True victory is associated with following the Lord Jesus Christ to the very end to enter God’s paradise kingdom.

The Temple of the Living God

Things have drastically changed since Old Testament times. Back then sacrifice and worship revolved around the moveable Tabernacle, then afterwards the permanent Temple of God first built by Solomon (then rebuilt in Ezra 4-6 after its destruction). temple of the living GodThe significance of the temple of God can’t be overstated. God’s holy presence dwelt in the temple in the holy of holies into which only the high priest could enter once per year and only with the blood of animals (Heb. 9:7), but no more!

Before that significant spiritual change, back in Jeremiah’s day false prophets were opposing Jeremiah’s message with the concept that the temple of God was among them and therefore Jerusalem would not be destroyed because of it. Jeremiah countered with this:

Do not trust in deceptive words and say, “This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD!” (Jer 7:4)

The temple of God Solomon built was destroyed because of sin, just as we can be today (1 Cor. 3:16,17)!

Temple of the Living God Errors

Things have changed, making such a change about the temple of God one of the most astounding events in the New Testament, accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, since the cross of Calvary, Christians are the temple of the living God! We are the living, breathing and moving temple of the living God! What a flagrant scriptural error it is, therefore, for any church congregation to refer to their church building as the temple of God! It surely isn’t! Christians are the temple of God! They are the sanctuary. Even some “Christian” songs need to be trashed, such as “We Have Come Into His House.”

Deceitful Musical Sermons In The Church Building

Religious songs carry a teaching, and many are used by the devil to deceive! Besides the obvious error of church buildings being called the temple of God, in Catholicism each Catholic church has their own personal “tabernacle” where Jesus dwells! At least that is what they say and want us to believe!catholic temple of God Though God doesn’t dwell in a man-made tabernacle, according to his error-free word (Acts 7:48), Catholics believe otherwise because of their false doctrine of the priest changing (through transubstantiation) the communion elements into the body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ. Those unconsumed communion wafers (which they call the Eucharist) are stored in a boxed tabernacle by their altar. Again, such a religious belief is a direct strike against the fact that the physical bodies of Christians are now the temple of God, not any man-made structure.

God In You

What an awesome thought! GOD DWELLS IN THE BODIES OF CHRISTIANS! Wow! We are the temple of God:

What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Cor 6:16-18)

When a Christian prays, he doesn’t have to “pray through” to a distant God somewhere far away. God is dwelling in his own physical body! He is the temple of God. To realize that we are the temple of God can be life changing! What an important self image changer. God has considered you, because of submitting to the Lord Jesus Christ and following him, worthy of becoming the temple of God! That makes this truth real in your life:

The one who is in you [ALMIGHTY GOD] is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

Another Catholic Error

Catholicism continues to unduly and idolatrously exalt their fabricated image of Mary in many ways, including with the unique title for her of “ark of the covenant.” (That is only one of Mary’s many titles given by Catholicism to their mythical sinless, queen of heaven and co-redeemer of mankind.) The truth is, ALL Christians are the temple of God (or ark of God). If this was common knowledge, religious myths such as the aforementioned would be expelled immediately and the HOLY image of a Christian (a saint) would be much better established. Remember, IF you are a Christian, YOU are the temple of God now. It doesn’t matter if you are a male or female, the color of your skin or your economic condition. IF you are putting God’s word into practice (Lk. 8:21) you are in God’s family and his temple, but this applies too:

But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast. (Heb 3:6)

Reflecting the conditional security for the believer, Heb. 3:6 mentions both COURAGE and HOPE. We Christians must hold on to each for ourselves, which some don’t and consequently cease being the house of God. Moreover, the following warning of destruction similarly applies:

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple. (1 Cor 3:16,17)

That means there absolutely is NO eternal security, even though Calvinism says otherwise.

Another Literal Temple of Brick and Mortar

Another literal temple will be built! In it the antichrist will proclaim himself to be God!

He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. (2 Thess 2:4)

So we are NOT as close to the end as many think, because there is no literal temple yet, but one will be rebuilt. However, we know that temple is NOT really the temple of God, because that privilege is uniquely reserved for Christians.
