Tattoos, Body Piercing and Role Models

lizzard manThe society of 30 years ago has radically changed and disappeared. Besides crime being much lower, the teenagers and young adults back then used to try to make themselves look physically attractive, but that does not seem to always be the case any more! Many teenagers and young adults now dress with some kind of face piercing, black makeup and tattoos that makes themselves look the walking dead! Even the girls are now tattooed and pierced! I personally believe satanic bands, TV and secular school have all helped to lead our society to its present depraved state. Young people see role models there and behave like they see the musicians, actors and administrators, who are nothing like they were 50 years ago!

To compound the problem, even some of the churches have tattooed preachers who display the ugly body-harming tattoos without shame. Todd Bentley is a prime example. His appearance is repulsive and unbecoming for any preacher. If he was tattooed up like that before his alleged conversion, then he should at least be wearing long sleeved shirts to cover up those shameful tattoos, but he doesn’t, and it seems most professing Christians don’t care in the least, even though the Bible says:

Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD. (Lev 19:28)

While evangelizing on a college campus I remember one student, whose mother was an Episcopal priest, had rubber spikes coming out of each nostril! His face also had various clips and pins in his eyebrows, tongue and lips! What a horrid display he was. When I was growing up, no one dressed like that, and had someone tried to pay a young adult to disfigure himself in that way, I doubt if very many would have done so. Now they do it voluntarily. It seems to make them popular and cool. As strange as it may sound, our deteriorating society was predicted in God’s word:

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. (Mat 24:12,13)

cat manWickedness is steadily increasing and it shows up even in the way people dress with body piercing and tattoos in astonishing places. Did you know some people have had their tongues tattooed? If you are a Christian young person, take the above to heart and don’t disfigure yourself.

Good Guys Don’t Finish Last

It seems to be a common belief in the world, no doubt created by the devil, that good guys finish last! In fact, you might have heard people say those exact words. I remember hearing one serial killer speak his heart about life with those words. He chose to travel the opposite way, which landed him in prison and subsequently caused him to lose his own family – the only ones he ever cared about!

The view that good guys finish last is a subtle attack on being faithful to God. The God fearing, conscientious, Jesus lovers are viewed by people who believe like that as being unwise and weak, when the exact opposite is the truth! Perhaps the wicked, who say what they want, think what they want and live like they want, are trying to reassure themselves that they have to be sinful like they are to maintain what they have, prevent people from taking advantage of them, and get ahead. Hence, some think they need to be lustful, hateful, revengeful, greedy, deceitful and more to fit in and gain the approval of co-workers, neighbors and family. But notice who such people set up on a pedestal as seeking favor from. They want the favor of ungodly feeble people, who have but a breath in their nostrils (Isa. 2:22), not God! How foolish and nearsighted!

Years ago, I once had the opportunity to preach a free 20 message to be aired on a popular Christian radio station. I preached a strange-to-our-day customized sermon for the good of the listeners, which upset the general manager of the station to the point where he wrote me a letter! In brief, I responded to him that I would be most concerned if it was him who was sitting on the throne, but since he isn’t, his view of me has little significance. That is the basic position embraced by the good guys, the ones who don’t finish last in light of eternity! We good guys know in this world we will have trouble (Jn. 16:33), but we also know we will exist forever in an endless eternity depending on how the thrice holy God views us. From his perspective, good guys finish first and the bad guys finish last:

Those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. (John 5:29)

To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. (Rom 2:7-10)

Unless you view this life in light of eternity, you will have a distorted and self-destructive view. Think beyond the grave with your judgment before you and run your race with perseverance to come in first as a good guy. Exciting days are ahead for good guys as described above!

The Hidden Treasure and Pearl Of Great Price

treasure in fieldThe Lord Jesus taught about salvation and the Christian life in various ways. Together they all present a much more complete understanding about what it means to believe on Jesus, receive Jesus, be his follower, etc. than just any single verse. Sometimes the Lord revealed his precious words of life through parables. In fact, in just 3 verses he gave us two very similar parables uncovering basic truths about salvation and eternal life seldom mentioned in our day:

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. (Mat 13:44-46)

The kingdom of heaven is a super treasure, but it is also hidden. The place it is hidden is in a field, not in a city where the multitudes are, thereby suggesting few rather than the majority will ever find spiritual life. The man who found it could also recognize its great value and became joyful because he knew it could be his. He was also willing to sell all he had to pay the price to get it.

The second parable about the pearl of great price is very similar. The major difference seems to be that the pearl merchant was clearly searching before he found the pearl of great price. He too sold everything he had to get it. In our day, an expensive pearl is a rare pearl that is tinted pink or bronze or may even be black! Maybe it was such a costly pearl like that which Jesus was referring to and to which he compared the salvation of the soul.

In both parables the spiritual cost was the same – all you have! Compare to Luke 14:26-33. NOTE: salvation will cost the rich man to the poor man the same – everything! The poor man is never too poor to pay the price, if he is willing to surrender his heart, but many poor people don’t! In contrast, because most rich people love and serve money the way they should be loving and serving God, they will never pay the needed price either!

The price isn’t necessarily monetary wealth, but it could be included. To give up everything and sell all you have means you are going to serve God and put him first even above your own life, natural family, job, reputation, comforts, etc. To have the hidden treasure and pearl of great price will mean that your family will be divided because of Jesus (Mt. 10:34-38), you will be unjustly persecuted and hated over godly living (2 Tim. 3:12), and perhaps a whole host of other unpleasantries and sufferings, including being slandered (Heb. 11:35-39; Rom. 8:17,18; 1 Cor. 4:12,13; etc.).

Most church people are repulsed by such a message, but it doesn’t change anything. JESUS must be our first love and he will not settle for second place (Rev. 2:4,5). That means we will live a life of OBEDIENCE (Heb. 5:9; etc.) and HOLINESS (Mt. 5:8; Rom. 6:16,22; Rev. 21:27; etc.) as we take his yoke upon us in submission (Mt. 11:29,30) and deny ourselves (Lk. 9:23) to follow his lead (John 10:27). It is a path which is traveled by few and the road to life is difficult (Mt. 7:14), but with God’s help you can hold on to what you have (Rev. 3:11) and not go back like a dog to his vomit. The hidden treasure and pearl of great price are likened unto eternal life, which is only in Jesus Christ (1 John 5:11,12) and only for those who pay the required price to be worthy of him. They are wise and made a great exchange.

Is Mary Co-Redemptress

What would you think of a denomination which claims to be Christian, yet violently contradicts the very way salvation itself was purchased? Shouldn’t you consider it fatally flawed on that point alone? Furthermore, wouldn’t such also show its leaders are not directed by the Spirit of truth (the Holy Spirit)? Absolutely!

Roman Catholicism actually declares that very thing by teaching Mary is Co-redeemer with the Lord Jesus! Catholicism has done that through various popes and Catholic church councils, which have referred to Mary as the co-Redemptress. Here are a few quotes:

Pope Leo XIII: “The recourse we have to Mary in prayer follows upon the office she continuously fills by the side of the throne of God as Mediatrix of Divine grace; being by worthiness and by merit most acceptable to Him, and, therefore, surpassing in power all the angels and saints in Heaven. Now, this merciful office of hers, perhaps, appears in no other form of prayer so manifestly as it does in the Rosary. For in the Rosary all the part that Mary took as our co-Redemptress comes to us, as it were, set forth, and in such wise as though the facts were even then taking place; and this with much profit to our piety, whether in the contemplation of the succeeding sacred mysteries, or in the prayers which we speak and repeat with the lips.” (Iucunda Semper Expectatione, n. 2)

Mary is queen not only because she is Mother of God, but also because, associated as the New Eve with the New Adam, she cooperated in the work of the redemption of the human race (Pope John Paul II, Theotokos, 2000, p. 210).

The antithesis of such fabricated theology is stated in God’s word. It is only Jesus, and his precious blood shed on the cross, which has paid for our sins and he alone should get the credit for it. In Scripture there is never any mention of Mary, in any way, sharing in man’s redemption:

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, (Eph 2:13,14)

And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. (Heb 13:12)

He [Jesus] is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. (1 John 2:2)

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. (1 Pet 2:24)

Those Scriptures are all crystal clear and already set the record straight. The next one is the proverbial icing on the cake since in heaven they sing about man’s redemption and give all the credit to Jesus without mentioning Mary, even in the slightest way:

And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.” (Rev 5:9)

The magnitude of that sole Catholic error about redemption is enough to identify Roman Catholicism, and its leadership, as being apart from Biblical Christianity! Their false exaltation of their Catholic Mary, is a lethal stumbling block and idolatrous snare for hundreds of millions, yet very few are saying anything about it! In fact, just the opposite. The established and supported spokesmen for Bible-believing Christianity endorse Catholicism as Christian and praise the popes, such as John Paul II as though they were great spiritual lights! Billy Graham, Benny Hinn and Jack Van Impe are just a few horrible examples. Our present day apostasy is glaringly obvious, if one has eyes to see and ears to hear. BTW, there are other areas of lethal Catholic deception, which also show it is a bogus Christian system. As an ex Catholic, I was never taught correctly by them about how to find peace with God!

Preachers Turn Atheist

jerry dewittSadly, spiritual tragedies do occur in this dangerous spiritual environment. That is why Christians are told to guard themselves, hold on, keep themselves, etc. One of the most recent and openly publicized spiritual tragedies among preachers losing their faith would be Jerry Dewitt. Jerry DeWitt, from Louisiana, became an atheist after more than twenty-five years of Pentecostal ministry! He was senior pastor of a congregation when he became an unbeliever and now claims he could not be happier because he feels he has regained his integrity.

teresa macbain[Teresa MacBain, former pastor at Lake Jackson United Methodist Church, resigned because of unbelief also. She claims to have been a Christian for 44 years before losing her faith and becoming an atheist! BTW, I reject the idea that the United Methodist church teaches sound doctrine and that any woman should be a pastor. Teresa MacBain should never have been in that position in the first place.]

If Jerry DeWitt, Teresa MacBain or any atheist ever came to initial salvation or not, I can’t say. It is possible they were once saved at some point before getting back on the road to hell as they are now. As sad as it is for them to openly reject the existence of God (and therefore Jesus Christ), it is even worse when one ponders the many under their influence who might also be hurt by their horrible example. It is horribly bad for any professing Christian to renounce his faith, but even worse when a person who is considered by some to be a spiritual leader does it. That, in part, is why the spiritual credentials for spiritual leadership are so strict (Titus 1:6-9 ; 1 Tim. 3:1-13 ; 1 Pet. 5:1-4).

Apostate Preachers

Jerry DeWitt’s apostasy is not new, as shown in the pages of the Holy Bible. To get more specific, Paul mentioned two apostate preachers to Timothy who turned from Jesus (the truth) and destroyed other Christians by teaching false doctrine:

Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. (2 Tim 2:17,18)

So what was Paul’s counsel to Timothy so he too wouldn’t become a shipwreck of the faith?

Holding on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith. Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme. (1 Tim 1:19,20)

Hymenaeus and Alexander were once Christians, like Timothy, but something happened which shipwrecked their faith! The preventatives were simple. It didn’t have to happen:

  • Hold on to faith
  • Hold on to a good conscience

That is where Jerry DeWitt failed, assuming he was previously a righteous person! Also, Paul knew the same DEADLY thing that happened to Hymenaeus and Alexander could happen to Timothy, thereby implying they were previously saved, as was Timothy! Paul never taught Timothy that God would assure that wouldn’t happen to him! He taught Timothy that it was his responsibility to do that. He had free will to obey or be negligent to his own harm and destruction. That is how the devil gets victories, as he does over people like Jerry DeWitt.

Prayer Disappointment

I personally believe the devil often uses prayer disappointment to instill doubt and unbelief, if possible, in Christians! There are various reasons why prayers are not answered and prayer can be a very complex subject to study. Backsliding does occur and has different faces. With Jerry DeWitt it was turning to atheism. With some others it is wild living, as with the prodigal son (Luke 15:13). With Solomon it was idolatry. With Judas Iscariot it seemed to be love of money. There are many ways to go to hell, while the way to eternal life is narrow.

We must run our race with perseverance being mindful that many who start will not finish. Jerry DeWitt appears to be an example of this! Don’t follow his example. Hold on to faith and a good conscience. Regardless, what others do or don’t do, God still exists, the Bible remain true and you must endure to the end for salvation (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; Rev. 2:10,11).

Be Sin Conscious

To teach be sin conscious in our day of rampant heresies is to invite ridicule and opposition. I know that, but that doesn’t change the Biblical message one iota! The grace changers (mainly consisting of the once saved always saved teachers) are boldly teaching that sin is not the issue (when it is), our future sins are already forgiven (when they aren’t), all sins are of the same degree (when they are different) and Christians should not be sin conscious (when they should)! That is the definite receipt for spiritual disaster. As with any teaching, to test its soundness, we must consult the Bible to see if it is true or not. When that is done, the evidence to the contrary, clearly shouts out that Christians are to be sin conscious! Directly or indirectly, that fact is shown in different ways. Here is proof:

  • To the same group who originally heard that we are saved by grace (Eph. 2:8,9), three chapters later Paul wrote:

But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person–such a man is an idolater–has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. (Eph 5:3-7)

OBSERVATION: It is clear from that alone that to be sin conscious is under grace and definitely a Christian emphasis today, as it was for Paul. NOTE: other similar teachings are also found in Col. 3:5-10; 1 Cor. 6:9,10 and Gal. 5:19-21.

  • Paul also taught:

… Hate what is evil …. (Rom 12:9)

Avoid every kind of evil. (1 Th 5:22)

Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. (1 Cor 10:6)

OBSERVATION: Since sin is evil, those commands all refer to sin. To obey those commands, a Christian would have to be conscious of sin. Again, this is more Biblical evidence against the popular, but blind leaders of our day.

  • Paul stressed that same message to his spiritual child and co-laborer, Timothy. Other teachers did the same:

… Keep yourself pure. (1 Tim 5:22)

In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. (Heb 12:4)

Paul was a holiness preacher as he also magnified grace!

Be Sin Conscious To Avoid Hell

The ultimate expert on everything was the Lord Jesus. He repeatedly taught that sin will land the sinner in eternal fire and it needs to be resisted:

The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Mat 13:41,42)

And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. (Mark 9:47,48)

He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. (Mat 25:45,46)

Even sins of omission can be lethal. So the emphasis is again on sin and the opposite, which is obedience. (Throughout Revelation 2 and 3 the same truth about being sin consciousness continues to appear.) From the first recorded words to Adam, which were about sin (Gen. 2:16,17) to the very end of the Bible (Rev. 22:18,19) the dangers of sin are mentioned.

The Devil Tempts Us To Sin

The devil is called our enemy or adversary (Mt. 13:39; 1 Pet. 5:8) and he tempts us all to sin! WHY? Because he knows how destructive sin is! Since that should be apparent at this point, then Christians need to be conscious of sin as they resist the devil (James 4:7) and follow Jesus (Jn. 10:27) in this world filled with false teachers and false prophets. It should be clear that anyone, popular or not, who declares that Christians should not be conscious of sin, is speaking for the devil, though they may sprinkle their explanation with Biblical terms. DO NOT BE DECEIVED, sin is still the issue and you therefore need to be conscious of sin:

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars–their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. (Rev 21:8)

Lou Gehrig

Lou Gehrig
Lou Gehrig (1903-1941) was a legend and phenomenal Yankee baseball player during the 1920’s and 1930’s. He was nicknamed the iron horse for his endurance and strength and played 2,130 straight games. Lou Gehrig was young, strong and healthy when he started to play in the major leagues. He set more than 20 records and even had 4 home runs in one game! After years of hearing cheers from the fans for his star athletic abilities, he started to deteriorate physically in his prime due to a very rare disease. It was a slow deterioration which adversely affected his motor skills and therefore his baseball abilities and career. He finally took himself out of baseball altogether because of his inabilities. The baseball league had a farewell tribute to Lou Gehrig and after he walked off the field they played ball without him! Lou Gehrig died a couple of years later at the age of 37 and the disease which brought him to his untimely death was named after him – Lou Gehrig disease.

The uncertainties of this earthly life shines forth when one ponders Lou Gehrig’s rise to fame, abilities and unseasoned sad decline. We notice the same when we read the obituaries or walk through a cemetery. People die young, they die old, they die sickly and can even die healthy from an accident, but they continue to die. The grave is greedy and never satisfied. Death takes down the rich, poor, well-known, little known – everyone. Death is approaching and it is closer today than ever for both you and me. Though Lou Gehrig died so prematurely at 37, he still outlived many! Also, when it comes to baseball, he made his mark and is still remembered 80+ years later primarily because of the fatal disease which killed him. Do you think if he could turn back the time and live his earthly life all over again he would do things differently? I do. Surely, now in eternity, he realizes his baseball accomplishments and records were all worthless! All people who acquire wealth and fame, but die spiritually unprepared, show in the end they were lethally deceived and wasted their life. Many are like that. They reached out for goals and accomplishments, which were really a worthless bag of spiritual trash and it became crystal clear at death.

The Apostle Paul said he counted all his prior accomplishments (and they were spiritual) as dung and rubbish compared to knowing the Lord Jesus in the way of salvation ( Phil 3:4-8 ). To have the gift of eternal life is to have the greatest, most precious possession possible in this life and in eternity. Nothing can compare to it and if a person would exchange eternal life for various temporal treasures he has made a terribly bad deal (Mark 8:36,37).

If Lou Gehrig died a righteous man, or not, is not readily known. If he did, he is rejoicing now because of what the Lord Jesus and his blood has done for him. If he didn’t die with a pure heart, his misery is much worse than from the disease which finally killed him! Remember: just like us all, even a super champion like Lou Gehrig was a mere flower that blossomed for a while, then faded away. So let’s think and live in light of eternity:

For, “All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you. (1 Pet 1:24,25)

The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:17)

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Cor 15:58)

The Ouija Board Forbids Me To Use The Name of Jesus

[Comment] I am using a ouija board.  It has told me that I am incapable of making my own decisions, so I must commit to its judgment and discretion. It has forbidden me to use the name of Jesus.  So I must obey.  Somebody told me that I am a servant of the devil for doing so.

[Bible Answer] You are actually being directed by a demon, one who wants to deceive you and hurt you the worst possible way — spiritually! Instead of relying on the ouija board and his dark counsel, rely on the God of the Bible as you seek him through the truth found in the Bible. In Acts 19:18,19 there were some people who WISELY turned to God. They burned their witchcraft scrolls. That is what you should do with the ouija board – burn it. Then cry out to God for mercy and forgiveness and commit your life to follow and serve the Lord Jesus. The difference between where you are now headed and what repentance will lead you to (if you do it) is the difference between “eternal punishment” and “eternal life” (Mt. 25:46). The choice is yours! It is your DECISION!

[NOTE: Some Yeshua people view the holy name of Jesus about the same as the demon behind the ouija board!]

Answering A Catholic

[The following is my answer to a professing Catholic about how to become a Christian.]

Your answer, does indeed, show you have thought about your answer before emailing me back. It really blessed me to read that you consulted and cited only the Bible, which is not typical for a Catholic. That is to your credit and major advantage (2 Tim. 3:15-17). That is great! You also gave a MUCH BETTER answer than the indoctrinated Catholic who would say one becomes a Christian when he is infant baptized. Again, good for you!

If you asked me the same question I asked you [If I didn’t know how to become a Christian and I asked you, what would you tell me?], if I answered in a few words I would say cry out from your heart to God for mercy and forgiveness in humility and sincerity as the tax collector did in Lk. 18:13,14 and you’ll be justified. (That summarizes how I personally came to initial salvation and was instantly changed.) That same answer implies repentance (turning away from all sin) and committing to Jesus though it isn’t clearly stated. The same can be said about the words to “believe on Jesus,” which becomes apparent if one compares Scripture with Scripture. So it isn’t a mere mental assent in or about Jesus which brings about eternal life. One must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Jesus unashamedly in this sinful, truth-rejecting world (Lk. 9:23-26; John 10:27; etc.). He must be FIRST, even before our family and life, to be worthy of him (Mt. 10:37-39; Lk. 14:26,33 cf. Mt. 12:49,50). We must take his yoke upon us (which implies submission) to be a Christian!

A more detailed answered from me might point you to the nearly 2 dozen salvation sermons or inferences in Acts about their gospel message which they taught for initial salvation [to get one born again]. Since their message is what CHANGED LIVES back then, it will do the same today, IF we do the same as the recipients did (from our hearts) today. That same change is what both the Lord Jesus and Paul referred to when they mentioned being set free from sin addictions (John 8:34-36; Rom. 6:16,18,22; etc.). That same spiritual freedom and deliverance from sin occurs when one contacts the cleansing blood of Jesus (Rev. 1:5) and gets forgiven. Anything less than getting set free from sin addictions (lust, greed, hate, alcoholism, cocaine addictions, adultery, etc.) is a worthless religious counterfeit which only has people thinking they will be okay, when they surely will NOT. They remain on the road to hell as a religious church goer. When one gets saved there will be a RADICAL change in his life. When I got saved that happened to me. All my ungodly friends etc. knew something happened to me!

KJV Only Wrath

After I posted KJV Only Propaganda and Implications, the attacks came. What where they? One staunch extreme KJV onlyite wrote:

Your hatred for the KJB only shows you are not a Christian but an agent of Satan. I have sent you undeniable proof that your hatred is not basted on historical facts, but only on your personal humanistic feelings …. My God rebuke you and your false teaching about the KJB …. Your hatred for the King James Bible is beyond belief and is anti semantic.

mad personAgain, the KJV (or KJB) people have exalted their personal view of the King James Version of the Bible to be a salvation issue! If any person dares to reject their view, he/she is an agent of Satan, according to some. There is NOT a shred of evidence in any translation of the Bible, including the KJV, which says using any particular translation of the Bible is evidence of salvation or the lack of it. However, in the KJV Only cult-like mind, if one rejects the KJV because it is NOT understandable, then he is not a Christian and that’s that! Perhaps such KJV Onlyites need to be honest with themselves and others and just admit they can’t understand the KJV either! They are self-deceived, thinking they can understand the KJV when they can’t.

The missing word/s argument is no more valid than the other camp saying the KJV has added word/s which shouldn’t be there! It is what the Greek manuscripts say that counts, NOT any translation! If one is partial to the Textus Receptus, he should read the NKJV, Modern King James, Green’s or Young’s. Those translations are more understandable than the KJV.

NOTE: We acknowledge some Christians do use the KJV, but those same people do NOT believe one is unsaved if he doesn’t use that translation! That is the important vital difference.

The KJV Onlyites are not preaching the word of God when preaching their KJV Only gospel message. Such is not the message Christians are to spread. That makes the KJV gospel, no gospel at all, that is, it does not declare the plan of salvation! It doesn’t point people to JESUS. It doesn’t magnify holy living. It magnifies a translation which is 400 years old, which is NOT understandable to a large degree.

Finally, remember this: VICTORY and SALVATION is found only in JESUS CHRIST, not the KJV or any translation, church group, denomination, lodge membership, Mary, etc. If you escape hell, it will be because the Lord Jesus has saved you and has given you eternal life. Your faithfulness to JESUS is the issue, not what translation you read. God bless you.
