Jonah In The Fish

Jonah was a true prophet of God (Mt. 12:39), who had a most unique life-threatening experience. He spent three days and three
Jonah in the fish nights in the belly of a huge fish!
God never dealt with anyone else like that over their disobedience to preach a message. Jonah was swallowed by a specially prepared fish, and while laying in its dark moist belly (filled with digestive fluids and partially digested food), he had time to think about his folly as seaweed was wrapped around his head (2:5). In his distress, as his life was ebbing away (2:7), Jonah prayed to the LORD and was given another chance.

Regarding his whole ordeal, including the time that Jonah was in the fish, he made a remarkable statement about forfeiting grace, which blows away various aspects of Calvinism, including eternal security. Jonah said:

Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. (Jonah 2:8)

Grace (favor) can be forfeited by sin. That is similar to the New Testament truth about saving grace:

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age (Titus 2:11,12).

Since God’s grace (which brings salvation) has appeared to all men, then why don’t all people have salvation? Jonah 2:8 tells us why — those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. God wants all people saved, but some people are clinging to worthless idols and consequently forfeiting the benefits of grace! So just as a Christian can fall from grace through false doctrine (Gal. 5:2-4), receive the grace of God in vain (2 Cor. 6:1), grace can also be forfeited by clinging to idols! That means the once in grace always in grace evangelical slogan in our dark day is no more true than the Catholic statement, to Jesus through Mary. Religious lies like them, have sent multitudes to hell.
Jonah in the fish
God provided Jonah with deliverance and an express submarine ride to dry land, after he humbly and sincerely prayed to the LORD. Jonah turned loose of self-will to do God’s will and could say, Salvation comes from the LORD (Jonah 2:9). Dear reader, are you clinging to worthless idols and forfeiting the grace which could be yours? Jesus said:

The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Mat 13:41,42)

That doesn’t have to be your future! You decide! It’s your choice. You have not been predestined one way or the other regarding eternal life. Idols or grace, which will it be?

Guard Your Life

If YOU are one of the spiritually wise minority, who is a follower of Jesus Christ and therefore also a present tense possessor of eternal life, then you yourself are responsible to guard your life — your eternal life! In a general way, we are told to be on our guard (1 Cor 16:13). God is not going to be on guard for you. It is your responsibility. That means your negligence or lack of knowledge to do this will prove spiritually lethal. Furthermore, it is important to know what we Christians are specifically told to guard our life from. In Proverbs we read:
guard your life

He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin. (Prov 13:3)

The highway of the upright avoids evil; he who guards his way guards his life. (Prov 16:17)

He who obeys instructions guards his life, but he who is contemptuous of his ways will die. (Prov 19:16)

If you are guarding your life, you are therefore guarding your lips (your words), ways and obeying God’s instructions (commands). These are all basic truths, but very important. We must finish the Christian race and endure to the end to be saved (Mt. 10:22). Along the way to the finish line, different things will occur, including temptations with various types of greed. We must be on guard regarding them too:

Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” (Luke 12:15)

Peter warned to be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. (2 Pet 3:17) We have a most secure position in Christ, as long as we continue to follow him (John 10:27-29), but we can still fall from that secure position, as well as from grace itself to the point where Christ is of no value to us at all (Gal. 5:2-4). People who refuse to believe these things, endanger their own souls and those they love the most. There is no once saved always saved, and all five points of Calvinism are Biblically wrong. Under grace you are to guard yourself and keep your lamp burning. Do not be deceived. God bless you.

Why Are There Droughts

droughtPlease know that the sovereign God controls the weather and that includes all extreme cases:

He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground, and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there. He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs; (Psa 107:33-35)

Since God does control the weather, and that includes drought with its accompanying famine, why do droughts happen? The answer is stated in the above passage. It is because of the wickedness of those who lived there. Here is a supplementing passage:

“I also withheld rain from you when the harvest was still three months away. I sent rain on one town, but withheld it from another. One field had rain; another had none and dried up. People staggered from town to town for water but did not get enough to drink, yet you have not returned to me,” declares the LORD. “Many times I struck your gardens and vineyards, I struck them with blight and mildew. Locusts devoured your fig and olive trees, yet you have not returned to me,” declares the LORD. (Amos 4:7-9)

The intended purpose of God withholding rain in drought, famine, etc. is to get sinful people to return to the Lord through repentance, that is, if they are willing to turn from sin. The Bible speaks of God’s goodness leading us to repentance (Rom. 2:4), but many don’t seem to know that God’s goodness, according to various Scriptures, includes adversity and hardship through drought, etc! Remember, it wasn’t until the Prodigal Son first faced a famine before he got so low that he longed to eat hog food and got nothing from anyone. In that humbled and starving condition, he then came to his senses and repented (Luke 15:14-24)! In his case, discipline worked and reversed his spiritually lost and dead condition and brought him back to salvation again. Unfortunately that, however, is NOT always the case! Sometimes discipline doesn’t bring people back to salvation, because they refuse to repent. As we already read in Amos 4:7-9, agricultural disasters, through drought, don’t always result in sinful people returning to God. Discipline doesn’t always work! God’s goodness which leads to repentance doesn’t always work:
drought

They turned their backs to me and not their faces; though I taught them again and again, they would not listen or respond to discipline. (Jer. 32:33)

So, drought, famine, plague, etc. can actually be acts of the goodness of God humbling people to result in their salvation, if they respond. Many might find it hard to believe that such could be acts of a loving God and his goodness when a drought comes. Don’t forget that God’s ways and thoughts are not like ours (Isa. 55:8,9). Hence, we must view God, eternal life and all that is spiritual, according to Scripture. If we don’t, chances are we will be deceived. That includes the reason behind droughts and why they occur. Finally, remember this: God is infinite, assesses things in light of eternity and he places the highest value on the SOULS of men (Mark 8:36,37)! According to 1 Cor. 6:9,10, are you in a spiritual condition which shows you will NOT inherit God’s kingdom (unless you repent)?

Bodily Exercise

bodily exercise
What is the proper view a Christian should have about bodily exercise? Does it have any value at all? Is it completely useless or extremely important since our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 3:16; 2 Cor. 6:16)? Paul gives the answer, as he instructs Timothy:

Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. (1 Tim 4:7,8)

Exercise for the physical body has some value, but it is far less than the value of godliness. When a person strengthens himself through bodily exercise, it can only have temporal benefits, which can be very short lived. On the other hand, training ourselves to be godly has much longer lasting benefits. Living godly will extend beyond this present life into eternity and all along the way help people with their greatest need – salvation and eternal life! Hence, bodily exercise is de-emphasized.
bodily exercise
To be a godly example in the midst of wickedness will be a major advantage for all who have such a wonderful example. Many who go to church do not qualify for this! It takes a person who is committed to doing things God’s way to be such a spiritual blessing to others, as he also helps himself. It is very dark spiritually, and far too many people see their broken life as a hopeless, painful and useless ordeal as they toy with the demonic temptation of suicide. People need a solid reason to live and some will see that in someone who is living godly. Paul and his companions were holy, righteous and blameless (1 Thess. 2:10) and that example caused others to imitate them!

You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. (1 Th 1:5,6)

Paul also mentioned godliness is to be pursued:

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. (1 Tim 6:11)

On Paul’s priority list, bodily exercise was low while godliness was repeatedly magnified. How do you compare with that?

The Eyes Of The Lord

The eyes of the Lord are everywhere. That truth reveals that God is omniscient (all-knowing). That particular attribute, unique to God, is under attack, even by people who believe in God’s existence! In various subtle ways, the implications of  – the anti eyes of the Lord are everywhereare far from wholesome. Why? If God does not know certain things, including the future perfectly and in every detail OR when a person once saved turns to evil, etc. then the integrity of the Bible is lessened and the holy image of a Christian is distorted. That’s not all!

The Eyes Of The Lord and Prophecy

eyes of the lordIf God doesn’t know the future perfectly, then Biblical prophecy, yet to be fulfilled, might never be fulfilled, including the Lord’s return, Judgment Day, the devil being thrown into the lake of fire, etc! That would also imply that the Bible is less than 100% reliable. Any strike against the word of God, like that, can only lead to SOULS not trusting its message fully and being misled about God’s truth and will. That in turn would hinder people from reaping the wonderful benefits of his various promises such as eternal life.

The Eyes of The Lord and Sin

If God can’t see the sins of those previously saved (which is the teaching of eternal security imputed righteousness) then such proponents will think they are free to commit the vilest sins, but still remain a possessor of eternal life. (Joseph Prince, Hal Lindsey and a host of others teach that way!) According to Scripture that type of doctrine is an attempt to mock God. Such people who sow to please the sinful nature (flesh) will reap destruction, not eternal life:

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Gal 6:7-9)

The Eyes Of The Lord Scriptures

The Biblical message given by God states God knows about us all:

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. (1 Pet 3:12)

For a man’s ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all his paths. (Prov 5:21)

The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. (Prov 15:3)

The number of our hair changes daily

The Lord Jesus also implied such with this:

And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. (Mat 10:30)

God knows, even the insignificant details about us all including how many hair we have on our heads and that number changes daily! So, make no mistake about it – God knows the future perfectly and in detail, which includes his ability to know when any person sins, even those previously saved. The eyes of the Lord are on you, if you believe it or not!

Joseph Prince EXPOSED

Joseph Prince(Bible Question)Joseph Prince made a statement that when we were sinners, no matter the good we do it does not earn us salvation / righteousness, so also when we became believers, no matter what sin we commit it does not make us a sinner. This sound logical but not scriptural …. Joseph Prince also said “we sin because we are sinners and that we did not become sinners because we sinned” What do you have to say to that? … Joseph Prince … said that there is nowhere in the New Testament where believers were asked to confess their sins, hence when believers sin they do not need to confess their sins. He also said that 1John 1:8-10 was written to Gnostics and not believers. Thanks and God Bless you Sir.

Joseph Prince Is Wrong

Joseph Prince(Bible Answer) What Joseph Prince has done is merely learn and repeat the same old feeble arguments for once saved always saved used by the grace changers before him! Joseph Prince (like many others) is wrong! To say, “… when we became believers, no matter what sin we commit it does not make us a sinner” is to clearly oppose Scripture! James 5:19,20 state that if a believer strays from the truth he becomes a SINNER (but he can come back to salvation again and have his soul saved from death):

My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, let him know that he who turns a SINNER from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. (James 5:19,20, NASB)

Similarly, the Prodigal Son became a spiritually dead and lost man through sin (Lk. 15:24). It is also possible for a Christian to become an enemy of God (James 4:4). Romans 4 is only referring to initial salvation or getting “born again.” There is NOTHING in Romans 4, or anywhere else, which shows a righteous person who turns to evil will NOT die spiritually (lose his salvation)! Remember that. Just the opposite is taught in God’s word. Don’t get confused about Paul opposing “works” (or the ceremonial law and circumcision). He was not referring to good works produced by a saving faith in Jesus, which accompany true salvation (James 2:14,17). Have you noticed what Paul wrote about sowing to please the Holy Spirit? That can ONLY be done by OBEDIENCE:

The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap ETERNAL LIFE. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Gal. 6:8,9)

Eternal Life Does Not Come Automatically

Paul taught the saints, in order for them to get ETERNAL LIFE, they would have to sow to please the Spirit. Reaping eternal life will NOT COME AUTOMATICALLY because one was previously saved, according to that verse and Rom. 2:7. The fabricated theology of Joseph Prince doesn’t allow for Gal. 6:8, Rom. 2:7, Rom. 8:13 and many other verses.

Are you aware that there are different degrees of sin? What John wrote in chapters 1 and 2, etc. of his first epistle must be understood in light of all he wrote, which includes:

We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:3,4)

See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us–even eternal life. I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. (1 John 2:24-26)

The Mythical god of Joseph Prince

For Joseph Prince to say 1 John 1:8-10 was written to Gnostics and not Christians is to ignore the plural pronoun we, which is used repeatedly in that passage. The Apostle John put himself in on it too! In other words, as a Christian, he also wrote to other Christians. Joseph Prince is debunked again.Joseph Prince Rushed Into Balaams Error He has erected a mythical false god, which can’t see the sins of those previously saved, but can only see Jesus’ blood, when he looks at those once regenerated! His false god also loves us all infinitely and that means we can’t ever be lost and the list goes on and on! For Prince to teach like he does is to twist and distort the truth of God on various key areas to allow for wicked living and eternal life too.

Joseph Prince Rushed Into Balaam’s Error

Joseph Prince has rushed for profit into Balaam’s error. He has gotten rich and popular at the expense of his followers. It is to their eternal harm that they have accepted his empty effortless success and grace teachings. His deadly religious fables are popular and fine-sounding, but not true. Take this warning to heart. DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY JOSEPH PRINCE.

Our Earthly Tent

The real you is not visible with the natural eye! The real you is living inside your physical, tangible body, which is likened in Scripture to a tent!
tent

Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. (2 Cor 5:1)

For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. (2 Cor 5:4)

To have the correct view of your physical body, that is, as a mere perishable, temporary tent, will help you focus in upon eternity and magnify the spiritual part of man.

A person who has been living in a tent for awhile will see signs of it aging. Maybe a little hole here and tear there, with sun bleached spots and stains, but that tent will surely show it has been used. People are like that. As we get older, more and more signs of aging appear – wrinkles, gray hair, age spots, failing health, etc., but that is nothing more than our tent wearing out! The real you isn’t growing older and wearing out like a tent. The real you is being renewed day by day:

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. (2 Cor 4:16)

mud pack womanMany people place far too much emphasis on the physical appearance of their earthly tent and far too little on their own spiritual condition. The spirit of man is eternal. That is why this whole scheme of things revolving around salvation and eternal life is so important. It will influence our eternal destiny. One day our bodies will die (our earthly tents will be rendered useless), but our spirits will continue on forever! Those same bodies, which many spent far too much time grooming and trying to make attractive, will rot in the grave and return to dirt while their eternal soul will continue to exist indefinitely! Peter viewed his body as a tent too and his death as putting it aside:

I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. (2 Pet 1:13,14)

Is it well with your soul today?

Jesus Before Earth

Who was Jesus before he came to earth? Did he even exist before the virgin birth? If so, who or what was he? Is it credible to think he was created and was named Michael the Archangel like the Jehovah’s Witnesses teach or the spirit brother of Lucifer like the Mormons say? Was he God? Does the Bible say anything about that period of time or is it silent?
jesus before earth
Those are all valid questions and issues that people have. Some have even built important doctrines around them. The Bible does provide some very surprising answers in various passages! Let’s examine the evidence. When Jesus was on earth he was a man, who prayed to the Father:

And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began. (John 17:5)

OBSERVATION: Jesus clearly existed before the world began and he shared glory with the Father. The kind of glory he had then is better understood from other related Scriptures:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. (John 1:1,2)

OBSERVATION: Jesus was God before he came to earth. See also 1 John 5:20. Also, he was NOT called Michael. Instead, he was the Word and was with God (the Father) at the very beginning. John 1:1 also shows he is different from the Father. The Word is not the Father. Since we also know the Word became flesh (Jn. 1:14), we know John 1:1 is referring to the Lord Jesus. Paul wrote:

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death– even death on a cross! (Phil 2:6-8)

OBSERVATION: Again, we learn Jesus (or the Word) was God before he came to earth and became a man. Hence, Jesus was God, who became the God man.

Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. (1 Pet 1:10,11)

OBSERVATION: The prophets of God in the Old Testament predicted the future through the spirit of Christ who was in them! A comparison of OT Scriptures shows they prophesied “thus saith the LORD.” Hence, we have even more evidence that the Word or Jesus is YHWH. All of that helps to better understand the type of glory Jesus had with the Father before he came to earth and he mentioned in John 17:5. The following adds to that:

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” (Mat 28:18)

OBSERVATION: Jesus now has all authority (power) in heaven and it is implied that such was restored to him, since his resurrection–again showing Jesus before earth was deity and called the Word. This evidence also shows he was never created, as does his own name–eternal life (1 John 1:1,2).

At this point in time, he is sitting on the throne of God at the right hand of the Father (Heb. 1:3) and praying for the saints (Heb. 7:25). Do you know him as your own Lord and Savior? He is the only way to escape eternal fire and punishment!

Scientology

Since Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are well known in our dark society, their divorce has focused the spotlight on Scientology because of their religious issues. Scientology is a very small religion with some very strange beliefs! While I was doing research on their beliefs, I ran across some strange terms unique to them. Three are: thetan, Xenu and Dianetics.symbol for scientology While Christianity speaks of man and his body, soul and spirit (1 Thess.5:23), Scientology speaks of mind, body and thetan! At least some in Scientology believe a human to be an immortal alien, i.e. extraterrestrial, spiritual being, termed a thetan, that is trapped on Earth in a physical body. A different source gave definitions to their terms:

Thetan — an invisible part of a human being, similar to the concept of a soul or spirit in other religions, that exists whether or not it is currently operating a human body. Scientologists believe Thetans are trillions of years old, having been reborn repeatedly in various earthly bodies. They are responsible for the existence of the material world, which they willed into being, according to Dianetics.

Xenu – according to Hubbard, the dictator of a Galactic Confederacy who brought billions of people to Earth and massacred them with hydrogen bombs 75 trillion years ago. The slaughter, known as “Incident II,” sets up a major conflict in Scientology, as the thetans of the victims devolved into “body thetans” that torment modern humans. Releasing their grip is part of the goal of Scientology. The story of Xenu, which the church tried to keep secret until it leaked via an Internet newsgroup in 1994, is revealed in Operating Thetan level three, or OT III. Some Scientology officials now deny the existence of the Xenu story.

If you know the Scriptures, you have to admit those are some very strange beliefs and poles apart from the Biblical message of Christianity. Their religious myths distort or omit sin, the Lord Jesus Christ and his redeeming blood, Judgment Day, the lake of fire or Paradise for the overcomers, etc. as mentioned in the Bible! Hence, Scientology is beyond outside the ballpark, so to speak! But without the light from Scripture and it being the criterion of where all teachings are found (2 Tim. 3:16,17), any person can drift into any kind of wild belief system. For Scientology it doesn’t stop with the above. Their view of salvation is also strangely different and DANGEROUS. The following is from the Scientology website:

Scientology holds in common with many of the world’s oldest religions that Man was put here to work out his own salvation by attaining an understanding of himself and the universe and that only in this way can he understand God the Creator and his relationship to the Allness of All. ( http://www.scientology.org/faq/scientology-beliefs-and-practices/what-are-the-religious-tenets-of-scientology.html )

Again, not a single word was mentioned about a submissive faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and turning away from sins, yet they have a salvation teaching! Scientology uses Biblical terms, like Mormons, but they mean something altogether different than Christians, who possess eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ and have true salvation.

Global Warming Is Coming

global warming
The main advantage in reading the Bible is to be exposed to the pure truth of God about spiritual things, especially the subject of eternal life and how to get it and keep it. Besides mainly addressing salvation, the Bible also touches on many other issues, including the future of our planet! There is, therefore, no need to get involved in any debate regarding global warming. Since the Bible teaches the climate of the planet will increase in temperature, we know the future before it happens! (No one needs a crystal ball and the witchcraft associated with it!) The Bible ends the debate without even considering the glaciers melting:

Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes(Rev. 7:16,17).

The context of that passage is the end of this age and the people referred to are overcomers who inherit God’s kingdom, that is, people who endure and persevere through the sufferings and persecutions related to godly living. There will be no global warming debate among the overcomers referred to in Rev. 7:16,17. It is inferred that they were hungry and thirsty [maybe because of famine and drought] and the sun was beating down on them with scorching heat. Since the overcomers are from all parts of the world (Rev. 7:9), then the worldwide global forecast is HOT (global warming), according to the infallible, error-free word of God. The radical deliverance for those faithful overcomers from being hungry, thirsty and hot to being led by the Lord Jesus himself (the lamb of God) to springs of living water PLUS having God wipe away every tear, implies excitement, relief and deliverance from their earthly pain and the sufferings they endured.

Another passage strongly implying global warming is at the same approximate time:

The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him. (Rev 16:8,9)

That shouts out global warming. No one could get global cooling out of that! It is going to get HOT, but for the people who die without Jesus and eternal life, it gets even hotter in the fiery furnace where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth (Mt. 13:41,42).
global warming
In contrast, the best word to describe where the faithful (mentioned in Rev. 7:16,17) go is PARADISE, the same term used by Jesus himself when he told the newly repentant thief who got forgiven, where he was going!

Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43)

Jesus believed there was a PARADISE awaiting people, who turn to him in repentance, like that former thief (who was a criminal). So criminals can get forgiven and go to paradise, while many church goers will go to eternal punishment and fire for being unrighteous. The one sure hope for all of us is found in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our hope of glory (Col. 1:27). That is much more important than global warming!
