Art Linkletter Preferred Hell Over Heaven!

CLICK ==> They Know Not What They Do (mp3)

By Dan Corner

The Bible mentions scoffers and mockers who have no fear of God (2 Pet. 3:3). I have met many in my Christian life, especially as I have evangelized on college campuses, on the streets, door-to-door, etc. They are bold and unashamed in their ignorance. Sadly, many made famous on TV are like that, and have become a role model to some! One such person while with Larry King was Art Linkletter! Art Linkletter was interviewed by Larry King, who brought up heaven. Linkletter’s responses were chilling to hear and even more so if you watch his laughing. There is nothing funny about hell nor his horrifying answer:

Larry King:Billy Graham on this program recently said, if he died right then and there, he would be very happy. He knew what would be ahead. It would be paradise. He’s going to heaven. What do you believe?

Art Linkletter: It would depend on what’s going on. I like a lot of activity. Heaven sounds too placid to me. Now, there’s a lot to do in hell. (Laugh)

Larry King: Why would you want to go there?

Art Linkletter: I don’t know! (Laugh)

On May 26, 2010, at the age of 97, Art Linkletter’s spirit departed from his body (James 2:26) and he entered eternity. Certainly, if he could redo his answer it would be much different now!

BTW, weeping and gnashing of teeth in outer darkness (Mt. 25:30; etc.) and crying out for mercy in torment, only to be denied (Luke 16:23-31) is not the kind of activity anyone should want to be busy with.

Back To Billy Graham

Finally, though Billy Graham apparently told Larry King he knew he would go to heaven if he died at that moment, at a different time Billy Graham (when asked about Pope John Paul II going to heaven after his death) stated that there seems to be a question about his own salvation:

King: There is no question in your mind that he [Pope John Paul II] is with God now?

Billy Graham: Oh, no. There may be a question about my own, but I don’t think Cardinal Wojtyla, or the Pope—I think he’s with the Lord, because he believed. He believed in the Cross. That was his focus throughout his ministry, the Cross, no matter if you were talking to him from personal issue or an ethical problem, he felt that there was the answer to all of our problems, the cross and the resurrection. And he was a strong believer. ( http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0504/02/lkl.01.html)

[To correct Billy Graham about Pope John Paul II, the deceased pope’s focus was NOT on the cross, but was instead on the fabricated Mary of Catholicism. That pope even entrusted himself to her and credits Mary in saving his life with no mention of Jesus! That is who Billy Graham, and other compromisers, exalted!]

Repentance Assumed in Romans 10:9-10

Many have misused Romans 10:9,10 to exclude the necessity of repentance (turning from sin) for eternal life. Here is a Bible nugget on Rom. 10:9,10:gold nugget

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Rom 10:9, 10)

If you confess the name of the Lord, which is what Romans 10:9,10 includes, then 2 Tim. 2:19 applies:

Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” (2 Tim 2:19)

The latter part of 2 Tim. 2:19 is the key to properly understanding Romans 10:9,10. Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness. That is the same thing as repentance. So, Romans 10:9,10 does include repentance, unlike what some antinomians and free grace proponents say!

The Alpha and Omega

Only in the book of Revelation is the unique title, Alpha and Omega, found, but to whom does it refer and what does it mean? Important observations should be noted, but first the passages:

Alpha and Omega Passages

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Rev 1:8)alpha and omega

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.” (Rev 21:6)

Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. (Rev 22:12,13)

Observations About the Alpha and Omega:

1. The title of Alpha and Omega is the same as the First and Last, as well as the Beginning and the End (Rev. 22:13; 21:6). Some wonder who can that be? Does that describe the Father or the Lord Jesus? Critical information revealing the identity of the Alpha and Omega is found in Rev. 1:17, though Alpha and Omega are not mentioned there. In Rev. 1:17 the First and Last is clearly identified as Jesus. That is another way of saying Jesus is eternal and was never created. He is the Beginning, the First and the Alpha! A related syllogism goes like this:

  • The Alpha and Omega is the First and Last (Rev. 22:13)
  • The First and Last is Jesus (Rev. 1:17)
  • Therefore, the Alpha and Omega is Jesus.

2. The Alpha and Omega is Almighty (Rev. 1:8). The same truth is mentioned in Mt. 28:18 where the resurrected Jesus states that he himself was given all power in heaven and earth. (Question: Are you worshiping Jesus, the one with all power in heaven?)

3. The Alpha and Omega is the Lord God (Rev. 1:8), while Jesus is the YHWH of the Old Testament. (Jesus is not the person of the Father.)

4. Jesus gives living water to the thirsty to drink, who ask him (John 4:10; 4:14; 7:37), just like the Alpha and Omega (Rev. 21:6).

5. Jesus is shown to be the Alpha and Omega of Rev. 22:13, according to v. 17—where it identifies the speaker who says, I, Jesus.

6. Rev. 22:12 says the Alpha and Omega is coming soon, his reward is with him, and he will give to everyone according to what he has done, just like it refers to Jesus elsewhere (Mt. 16:27)!

7. Each time Alpha and Omega is used, it reveals what was spoken by Jesus, describing himself in a most majestic way. Alpha and Omega is a type of short autobiography of Jesus and reveals his deity.

More Truth About The Alpha and Omega

Remember also that Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. That is significant for the Hebraic Root people, who exalt the Hebrew with Christianity. NOTE: Jesus didn’t describe himself with the first and last letter of the Hebrew alphabet. alef and tavIf he did he would have used Aleph and Tav, but he didn’t!  Greek was the language of the Roman Empire and the original language of the New Testament. Of the few Hebrew words found in the New Testament, Yeshua is never mentioned, which should be the case if his Hebrew name (Yeshua) is a salvation issue like some teach! When the Greek name for the Savior is transliterated into English it results in JESUS.

Over 100 descriptive titles of Jesus are found in the New Testament, which help show how significant and central he is in many areas of our lives. The focus is on Jesus in Scripture and not even the Father and Jesus together! Jesus is eternal life (1 John 1:1,2; 5:12,13) and it is impossible to have eternal life, if you disown him, for he will disown you in turn (Mt. 10:33). Is that the Jesus you believe in or do you have another Jesus?

“I Cannot Take Living Any Longer”

Antjuan Miguel Colvin, 21, from California decided to end his life by parking his car on an Amtrak railroad crossing. When the speeding train hit his car at 75 mph he died. He left a suicide note on Facebook just prior to his death:

To all my friends and family on Facebook. Thank you all you have all made an impact on my life some of you good some of you not but you all are loved I hope you all have wonderful lives. I know its not my time to go but I cannot take living any longer. So as of tonight I will end my life. Again thank you for being apart of my life. Merry Christmas ……. Goodbye. ( http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/man-leaves-facebook-suicide-note-kills-collision-train-article-1.1229256 )

Like many others, Antjuan Miguel Colvin is a very sad case and tragedy of a wasted life.girl weeping Apparently, like all suicides, Antjuan Miguel Colvin saw no hope and purpose to continue on living. Without God there is no peace within and no rest for the soul (Mt. 11:28,29). Christians on the other hand have that plus an extremely important purpose to live, that is, to do the will of God here and now where it is desperately needed. We are God’s fellow workers (2 Cor. 6:1) in this sin-filled deceived world. We need to shine out God’s gospel light for the sake of all who are lovers of truth. Many people are without hope in our current economic Depression and wrongly think the best way out to escape their pain and misery is suicide, especially if coupled with a belief in eternal security. Even the Bible cites examples of suicides who must have likewise thought I cannot take living any longer. Please, if the devil tempts you to murder yourself steadfastly resist his temptations. Do not ponder suicide for a moment. We Christians are told to set our hearts and minds on things above and not on earthly things:

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Col 3:1,2)

To set your mind on earthly things can easily bring you down to hopelessness and discouragement. Be spiritually far-sighted and think beyond the grave. Live in light of eternity. This life is very short in comparison to eternity. Don’t be another suicide statistic, especially around Christmas when suicides increase. Remember Rev. 21:1-8.

The Queen James Version Of The Bible

Without doubt, many professing Christians have heard of the King James Version of the Bible, but this is about the Queen James Version! So what is the newly published (November 2012) Queen James Version? Besides having a very distinctive rainbow cross on the cover, it has altered various Biblical texts, which condemn homosexuality.queen james bible It is a so-called Bible translation on the par with what Universalist Gary Amirault desires to have printed, that is, a Bible with all references of hell removed from it! (May it never come to pass!) The Queen James Version of the Bible is also similar to the New World Translation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, which especially altered the deity of Christ texts, which refute their beliefs! Our day is one in which truth-rejecting people with power and influence change the Bible to read the way they want it to read. The fear of God has virtually vanished and many people, who heard God’s precious truths, have refused to repent and so remain lost.

The Queen James Version of the Bible is not helping homosexuals, since denial of a sin unto death is not helping anyone. Such a denial makes things worse for them and that is what the Queen James Version is really doing. What homosexuals (and all others in darkness) need is repentance unto God and a saving faith in Jesus (Acts 20:21). If done, their spiritual identity will change for the good, along with being freed from sin’s addictions at the point of salvation. In other words, their behavior will change too. That is the medicine homosexuals, and others, need. The truth is the truth and here it is. Forgiveness is available in the Lord Jesus:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (1 Cor. 6:9-11, NASB)

The Sodomites from Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for their sins. Jude 7 tells us it was sexual immorality and perversion. We get the word sodomy from the town of Sodom and its predominate sin. A synonym for sodomy is homosexuality—they mean the same. For the Queen James Version of the Bible to try to change those facts is futile. It doesn’t change the facts. Homosexuality (sodomy) remains a grievous sin in God’s eyes, but eternal life is found in the Lord Jesus Christ. Again, homosexuality is a sin and some do get saved. Don’t allow so-called translations like the Queen James Version deceive you.

The 8:13s and NO Eternal Security

The Scriptures refuting the doctrine of demons commonly called eternal security (or once saved always saved or the perseverance of the saints) are plentiful to someone who has had his eyes opened by the Holy Spirit.Christian lady
They are everywhere, but it is so nice to have several in easy reach by knowing the Biblical references. That is where the 8:13s come in.

They Believe For A While

Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. (Luke 8:13)

This is a key verse to note when studying the Parable of the Sower, but one that has been carefully avoided by the eternal security teachers! Why? Because it proves that a believer can cease believing and die spiritually through persecution. In other words it is a NO eternal security verse.

Simon

Simon himself believed and was baptized, so he had a saving faith at one point:

Simon himself believed and was baptized.  And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw. (Acts 8:13) … When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money (Acts 8:18) and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 8:19) Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! (Acts 8:20) You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. (Acts 8:21) Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. (Acts 8:22) For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.” (Acts 8:23)

Simon, who got converted to Christianity and water baptized (Acts 8:13), later was full of bitterness and captive to sin. His heart was no longer right with God, according to Peter and he would perish in that condition. He needed to repent and get forgiven. His future sins were not automatically forgiven as heretics want us to believe. Also, Peter (who Catholics say was the first pope) did not have Simon confess his sins to him! Instead, he told Simon to pray to the Lord.

Spiritual Death Through Sin

Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation–but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. (Rom 8:12) For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, (Rom 8:13)

It is apparent that Paul is addressing true Christians (saints) and giving them a hell warning without mentioning hell. To die spiritually, as he taught would happen under those conditions, would place the saint back on the road to hell again.

Weak Christian Brother

The last 8:13 to remember is from 1 Cor.:

So this weak brother, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. (1 Cor 8:11) When you sin against your brothers in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. (1 Cor 8:12) Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause him to fall. (1 Cor 8:13)

Example is very powerful. In the above case, a weak Christian would eat food that his conscience forbids him to eat because he saw another Christian do such. That in turn would cause him to fall and be destroyed spiritually, according to true grace teaching. Notable 3:16s of the Bible

There is no doubt about it, all the verses of the Bible are important or they wouldn’t be there. However, some verses stand out more than other ones. It is like that with the various 3:16s, that is, the Scriptures found in chapter 3, verse 16 in various books of the bible. In my opinion, there are 13 notable 3:16s, with only one being found in the Old Testament. That one exception is Mal. 3:16. Let’s start with it:bible

Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name. (Mal 3:16) “They will be mine,” says the LORD Almighty, “in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him.” (Mal 3:17)

COMMENT: Fearing God and honoring his name is elevated by God and should be high priority among us all.

New Testament 3:16s

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

COMMENT: This is probably the best known verse in the entire Bible, which is also directly related to salvation. Sadly, it has been twisted and distorted into something not originally meant by the eternal security teachers and overlaps sometimes into antinomianism.

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see. (Acts 3:16)

COMMENT: There’s the reason the crippled man was healed. It wasn’t because Peter was an apostle, but because he had faith in Jesus’ name.

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? (1 Cor 3:16) If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple. (1 Cor 3:17)

COMMENT: Christians have the Holy Spirit living in their body. Hence, they are now the temple of God and not any man made structure! To defile that sacred temple is to lose salvation.

Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. (2 Cor 3:15) But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. (2 Cor 3:16)

COMMENT: That is a definite evidence of coming to initial salvation. When that wonderful new creation miracle occurs, the Biblical message opens up to a person and he/she hungers for God’s truth.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. (Col 3:16)

COMMENT: The teachings of Christ, as found in the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), as well as Rev. 2 and 3 should be the basis of our teachings, songs and thanksgiving to God. That is not to exclude the other Scriptures (2 Tim. 3:16,17), but to emphasize his teachings. Some in our day reject his teachings!

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. (2 Thess 3:16)

COMMENT: That blessing of peace is a wonderful way to end an email or close out a church service.

Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. (1 Tim 3:16)

COMMENT: The focus is shown to be on Jesus again. The Textus Receptus shows the deity of Christ here, but that rendering is disputed in other manuscripts. While that reading is disputed by some, Christ’s deity is solidly taught throughout the Bible.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, (2 Tim 3:16) so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Tim 3:17)

COMMENT: This is a foundational Scripture in Christianity. The Bible is final authority and the basis for all Christian teaching, correcting, etc.

For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. (James 3:16)

COMMENT: Sin begets more sin, but specifically envy and selfish ambition result in disorder and every evil practice.

He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. (2 Pet 3:16)

COMMENT: Paul’s epistles are elevated to Scripture by Peter. Furthermore, they have been distorted by ignorant and unstable people. A prime example of this type of distortion is the Romans 7:14-25 passage mangled by the eternal security teachers as they smear the image of Christianity by denigrating Paul (as a Christian) to the worst of sinners!

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. (1 John 3:16)

COMMENT: To die for another is the greatest love one can have. Christians are to have that for other Christians!

So, because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth. (Rev 3:16)

COMMENT: The last notable 3:16 in this list is a hell warning to the saved. Unless the Laodiceans would repent and become hot, they would be discharged from the body of Christ and, therefore, lose their salvation.

Once a Son Always a Son Deception

Part of the once saved always saved theology is the once a son always a son argument. last-willTo the grace changers, to reason from the natural to the spiritual without Scriptural backing means nothing, as long as such can somehow be used to support eternal security. Since once a son always a son is natural reality, then it must also be spiritual reality as well, according to them!

For all those who are wise enough to cleave to the Biblical message for all doctrinal truth (2 Tim. 3:16,17), the once a son always a son idea unravels in several ways. Gal. 4:7 does it, but not as directly as dozens of others verses. Here is the word of God and spiritual reality:

So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. (Gal 4:7)

If one becomes a son of God, he also becomes an heir. That means he has a spiritual inheritance. By implication from Gal. 4:7, if one’s spiritual inheritance can be lost, then one’s spiritual sonship can also be lost at the same time. If that occurs, then there is no once a son always a son, as implied by that Baptist doctrine. So can that terrible thing occur? Absolutely and here is the Scriptural proof:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Cor. 6:9,10, NASB)

For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person–such a man is an idolater–has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. (Eph 5:5,6)

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal 5:19-21)

The saints inherit the kingdom of God, but before final salvation that inheritance can be lost through certain types of sin, according to 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph. 5:5,6 and Gal. 5:19-21. Christians were warned about losing their inheritance because it could happen! That is another way of saying that a saint, because of certain types of sin, can become unrighteous, die spiritually and lose his spiritual sonship. Therefore, once a son always a son might be based on natural fact, but it is not spiritual reality and contrary to Scripture. BTW, that is a good way to summarize the whole eternal security theology, that is, it is not based on spiritual reality and contrary to Scripture!

[Since the once a son always a son argument has been dealt with at other points in The Believer’s Conditional Security they will not be rehashed here. Click this link to purchase that NO eternal security book.]

Christian Love

What is real Christian love? If any Christian ever had Christian love Paul certainly did:

The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. (1 Tim 1:14)

Paul’s Christian love was demonstrated in various ways throughout his whole ministry – his zeal, his holy behavior and his teachings. Read this carefully to note something else—the sadness associated with Christian love:

For I wrote you out of great distress and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to grieve you but to let you know the depth of my love for you. (2 Cor 2:4)

God’s truth is the basis and key ingredient in identifying genuine Christian love. It is impossible to reflect true Christian love if God’s truth is not considered! That is because the source of both God’s truth and Christian love is the Holy Spirit. God’s truth focuses on the spiritual and the spiritual reveals that the SOUL of man is his MOST VALUABLE possession. It is only natural love and affection which displays surface acts of kindness, while disregarding God’s truth. Natural love can seem at first glance to be more tender than God’s love because it doesn’t consider eternity and isn’t based on his truth.

The Christian love Paul displayed had eternity in mind. It was central in all he did and taught. In 2 Cor. 2:4 he referred to his first epistle to the Corinthians, which we call 1 Corinthians. In that epistle, genuine Christian love is displayed, but very UNLIKE what many church people would think about Christian love! Are you ready for the evidence?

Christian Love Warns About Sin’s Lethal Power

Sin is always the issue throughout the entire Bible, including after Calvary. Sin drags people to hell (Mark 9:43-48) and therefore must be resisted and warned about. Even the righteous can die spiritually. Just as God’s first recorded words to Adam were a dire warning about quick spiritual death because of sin (Gen. 2:17), Paul warned the saints the same way throughout all his epistles (1 Cor. 6:9,10; 10:1-11; Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:19-21; 6:8,9; etc.). Over and over, to the Corinthians this is shown, especially in 1 Corinthians chapters 5 and 6. The sexually immoral man of 1 Cor. 5:1-5 was shown to be wicked (5:13). Such people who commit that type of sin (a sin unto death) will not inherit the kingdom of God unless they change (1 Cor. 6:9-10). Paul didn’t believe there were any Christian sexually immoral people (like the once saved always saved proponents do) and wanted others to be know the same about that sin.

Paul’s Christian love also informed the saints that they do NOT have to yield to any temptation (1 Cor. 10:13)! That is wonderful to know. That means we Christians can OBEY. We can live HOLY.

Christian Love Addresses FALSE DOCTRINE

False doctrine about the resurrection was also addressed, especially in chapter 15. Why is it so central to know Jesus resurrected?

For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. (1 Cor 15:16,17)

Paul was logical and factual. He also reasoned from the Scriptures (Acts 17:2) for the sake of spreading sound doctrine and getting souls saved. He was severely persecuted as the Christian love in his heart tried to bring others to eternal life and was rejected.

Christian Love Addresses True Unity

The Corinthians were divided over their favorite preacher. Some preferred Paul, some Apollos and others Peter (1 Cor. 1:10-17). Paul opposed that division and promoted the true Christian unity which in our day has been overshadowed by the false unity of ecumenicalism.

Christian Love Encourages The Saints To Labor

Now is the time to labor. Souls need help and we are being tested. The vast majority of what church people in our hour do is completely in vain! Hence, Christian love teaches:

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Cor 15:58)

Jesus was perfect love manifested in every way, yet Jesus offended people with his pure holy love for them! How could that be? Because he gave people God’s word and his word is sharper than any double-edged sword (Heb. 4:12).double edged sword It can cut and hurt a sinful person inside, in his spirit! It can hurt so bad that some sinful people will want to kill the preacher, such as Herodias who wanted John the Baptist dead for preaching against divorce and remarriage (Mk. 6:17-19). Paul’s Christian’s love taught the Corinthians this about that subject:

A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord. (1 Cor 7:39)

To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife. (1 Cor 7:10,11)

If you have a Christian testimony, does it demonstrate that type of Christian love?
