Perseverance Of The Saints

Philippians 1:6 (ESV): And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. I believe in the “Perseverance of the Saints.” I also believe that if you are a “backslider” you were never truly saved. Salvation is preceded by repentance which means to completely turn away from sin. One cannot turn away when given a new nature from God and then turn back; their very nature would rebel against it. I also believe that if one is a “carnal Christian” or uses grace as a free license to sin then they are not and never were saved. When God calls the person out of their state of total depravity their eyes are opened to the things of God and can never return to the way they were before. I would go so far as to say that if a “believer” is not continually submitting themselves to the will of the Father, not continually bearing fruit for Christ, and has no love for any of their brothers/sisters then they are NOT saved. That is why I believe in Perseverance of the saints or as you say, “Once saved always saved.”

[Bible Answer] The only Scripture you cited for backing (Phil. 1:6) offers no support at all for eternal security, also called once saved always saved or the perseverance of the saints. If you check the context of that passage (Phil 1:4-7) it becomes clear that salvation is NOT the subject of Phil. 1:6! The subject is their partnership in the gospel. Therefore, Phil. 1:6 has been misused by the eternal security teachers.

king david lost salvationAlmost everything else you wrote is a direct contradiction of Scripture and/or an invalid representation of Calvinism’s fifth point, the perseverance of the saints. For example, King David backslid into adultery and murder. To say he was never saved because he backslid is ludicrous! (The same is true about Solomon turning to idolatry and Peter disowning Jesus.) You are merely repeating what you heard some misinformed preacher say or you have misunderstood what Calvinism believes. Calvinism absolutely does teach a truly saved person (one who has been regenerated) can backslide and remain saved in the VILEST WICKEDNESS! It is only sometimes that they say, if such a person doesn’t later repent he was never saved. However, the same people also teach the EXACT OPPOSITE when they recite their perverted version of the sin unto death. The way they understand the sin unto death is, the Christian backslider REMAINS UNREPENTANT and God in his holy anger strikes him dead because of his wickedness and then takes him to heaven! (What a religious fairytale!) They want it both ways. What you have written here is NOT Calvinism, but most importantly it is NOT what the Bible says. A righteous person will die spiritually if he turns to evil, according to Scripture. There are many spiritual dangers in the Christian life and he must do his own part to remain on the road to life, under saving grace.

If you want a detailed and documented refutation of eternal security, consult the 801 page volume, The Believer’s Conditional Security. This is a salvation related issue. You need to find the truth.

Frustrated Over Church

I am 60 years old and have been in a state of confusion in all my life. I know I am not alone. I believe 80 to 90 per cent of Christians are just as confused as I am. I do not believe in once saved always saved as the modern “Christians” do and they are the majority. My biggest problem is finding a church that does not believe that. The pastor I have, believes in once saved always saved. He believes God loves everybody. But the bible says God is angry with the wicked everyday. Sometimes I feel like quitting. Who is right. Who is wrong. Who has all the answers. What church has all the doctrine right? There is a church on every block and not a one could probably agree on one thing. Isn’t that sad! I listen to preachers and I have to ask myself where is that at in the bible. It is sad. When you lead someone to the Lord what church do you send them to. Now that is a challenge. I better stop here. I am sorry I spilled all this junk on you just frustrated. God bless.

[Bible Answer] I’m so sorry for the confusion. What you expressed is reality and a serious world-wide problem! As you have observed, it seems that every single doctrine is contested with alternative views! (The same seems to be true in other non-religious areas.) The frustration you experienced to the point of quitting is from the devil. That is what he wants. Please know we are living in a worldwide apostasy. The days are evil and it will get worse until the antichrist comes to power. However, God’s grace is sufficient and one will always have the victory in Jesus.

The so-called “pastor” you are sitting under is a HERETIC. He is a servant of the devil and a snare to souls. How can you go to such a congregation and support such a demonic lie as eternal security by your presence and donations? You are sharing in his wicked work (2 Jn 9-11) and this is SERIOUS. You are much better off not to go inside any church building than to go to one which is once saved always saved church. Once saved always saved is not a Christian belief.

The best advice I can give you besides the above is, learn the New Testament. Read and reread it carefully for yourself. Until you do, you will continue to be swayed by one preacher to another! What you do with the message of the Bible will affect you throughout eternity. That makes learning it of utmost importance. Remember Luke 13:23,24.

Man Gets Crucified On Good Friday

SINCERITY and religious deception sometimes go together. Here is one example which comes from a Catholic man who gets so-called crucified every “good Friday.” [NOTE: We have NO CONTROL over the advertisement at the beginning of this short video.]

The Death Sentence

When we hear of the death sentence, we tend to think it refers to a criminal, probably a murderer, who is sentenced in court by a judge. Clearly such people are not alone in being issued the death sentence!

Another type of death sentence is commonly issued by medical doctors. It is a death sentence for sick people. deathPerhaps it suddenly comes after a surgery, an MRI or a routine blood test, but being diagnosed with a terminal illness can come unexpectedly with no warning. Dying is in accord with the way God has set up the system and designed our earthly tents (our physical bodies) to deteriorate and fail over time:

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment (Heb 9:27)

Dear reader, your vitals signs might be good now, but you have been issued a death sentence by God. There is no escaping it. Scientific advancements to achieve immortality will NEVER occur. It is just a matter of time before you die, regardless who you are! The truth is, even the best medical doctors, surgeons, nurses, hospital staff, naturopaths, health enthusiasts, athletes, etc. all die too! Surely no man can’t permanently prevent your death. You might have already outlived many such people!

Live In Light of Your Death Sentence

Because you have been issued the death sentence by God, live in light of that death sentence. Like everyone before you, you will leave everything behind and enter eternity. Most people will enter eternity spiritually unprepared, so don’t be like them. Find peace with God and live holy. Make your uncertain, short life count for God while you still can. Be like the wise man and not the foolish man in Jesus’ teaching (Mt. 7:24-27).

God’s Chosen People

Contrary to what many people think, the Jews are NOT God’s chosen people now and have NOT been for thousands of years! God's chosen peopleThings don’t always remain the same and that is certainly the case here. Though the Jews once uniquely held that exalted title and had a special relationship with God as God’s chosen people, they have since rejected God’s unique one of a kind son, Jesus Christ, and stand condemned by God for doing such. In Moses’ day, the Jews were God’s chosen people:

For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the LORD has chosen you to be his treasured possession. (Deut. 14:2)

God has since based that privileged stand only for those who know the Lord Jesus Christ.

Antichrist or God’s Chosen People

Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist–he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. (1 John 2:22,23)

All Who Reject Jesus Reject Eternal Life

The Apostle John stated the Jews, and all people like them, who reject Jesus Christ are:

  • liars
  • antichrists
  • denying the Father by denying the Son.

Unlike what the Jews might think of themselves, they do NOT have God because of their rejection of Jesus of Nazareth being the Christ! According to holy writ, only Bible-defined Christians are now God’s chosen people!

Christians Alone Are Now God’s Chosen People

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Col 3:12)

That was definitely written to Christians (Col. 1:2). They are holy and dearly loved as God’s chosen people and have eternal life. Though the children of the devil don’t recognize us now as such, in eternity they will and then they will regret their persecutions and rejection of Jesus Christ.

[BTW, as an ex catholic I once wrongly believed it was the Roman Catholics who were God’s chosen people!]

1 John 2:19 – They Went Out From Us

1 John 2:19 is of major importance to the eternal security proponents. They misuse 1 John 2:19 with their never really saved argument when a professing Christian turns to gross immorality, and in a futile effort to conceal their license for immorality doctrine. 1 john 2:19 they were never savedThe context of 1 John 2:19 excludes the subject of immorality and shows it refers only to false doctrine taught by false teachers. Thus the eternal security teachers are misusing 1 John 2:19 for such:

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us. (1 John 2:19)

When we compare Scripture with Scripture and connect 1 John 2:19 to verses in Acts 15, we have important additional insights. Acts 15 details the Jerusalem council, which was presided over by James (not Peter) and convened over the false teaching that the Gentile disciples, in order to be saved, would have to be circumcised, according to the custom of Moses, and obey the law of Moses. Their exact false teachings are shown here:

Some men came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the brothers: “Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved.” (Acts 15:1)

Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to obey the law of Moses.” (Acts 15:5)

The conclusion of that church council, in part, stated the following about those false teachers:

We have heard that some went out from us without our authorization and disturbed you, troubling your minds by what they said. (Acts 15:24)

The Apostle John might have been referring to the exact same false teachers, who were initially opposed by Paul and Barnabas in sharp dispute and debate (Acts 15:2) and which brought about the need for the Jerusalem Council! John was also at the Jerusalem Council. If he wasn’t referring to the same false teachers, it was ones just like them! The lethal seriousness of believing certain false doctrine is shown by John, showing he was NOT a once saved always saved teacher, as some might think:

See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us–even eternal life. I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. (1 John 2:24-26)

The book of Galatians addresses this same type of false doctrine as dealt with at the Jerusalem council. Today, such is similar to what the Hebrew Roots people teach!

In conclusion, 1 John 2:19, like every argument used for once saved always saved, is misused somehow. The believer’s security is conditional. A Christian must continue in the faith to be finally saved, which doesn’t always happen. There have been many lethal spiritual tragedies in Christianity. Spiritual death can occur to the righteous!

The KJV Perfect Translation Heresy

There are indisputable glaring errors in the King James Version of the Bible. Though such a statement is uncommon in our day of rampant deception, it is still absolutely true! The following are four common examples of translation errors in the King James Bible made by the 1611 translators:

  • Heb. 10:23 – “profession of our faith” should be “profession of our hope”
  • Acts 19:37 – “robbers of churches” should be “robbers of temples”
  • Acts 12:4 – “Easter” should be “Passover”
  • Mt. 23:24 – “strain at a gnat” should be “strain out a gnat”

[NOTE: The same 1611 KJV translators recommend reading other translations of the Bible, according to the preface. They themselves were NOT 1611 KJV Onlyites, like many who cite them!]

The Spirit itself ERROR

king james version, kjb, kjv onlyAnother KJV error that the Watchtower Society, the governing body of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, has exploited is more serious, since it is an attack on the masculinity of the Holy Spirit! The perverted Jehovah’s Witness Bible, The New World Translation and the King James Version of the Bible are both in perfect agreement that the Holy Spirit is an “it” (as referring to a thing) in Romans 8:16 and 8:26. Almost no other English translations render those verses as itself! Here is that error in the KJV:

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God (Rom 8:16, KJV)

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (Rom 8:26, KJV)

The KJV is inconsistent. One example is related to the Holy Spirit (who is also called the Spirit of truth and Comforter) and is correctly shown to be masculine in other KJV verses. That inconsistency shows the KJV is wrong and misleading somewhere (and that is in Romans 8). Here are some Holy Spirit masculine KJV verses:

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. (John 16:13, KJV)

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26, KJV)

Hence, the KJV is NOT a perfect translation of the Bible, as you may have heard. Do not be deceived by such KJV propaganda, which is authoritatively, but erroneously embraced and broadcasted almost as a type of gospel! Some, like multiple times divorced Gail Riplinger, have done that as a source of financial income to the spiritual harm of her own followers! Be assured the KJV is NOT the standard of Bible truth or the only word of God, as too many misinformed people consider it! The KJV does have translation errors in it and some are doctrinal and serious. That is a fact! So even if one could understand the KJV, which 99.99% of the KJV only proponents can NOT, there are other serious issues involved here as to why that English translation should be set aside in favor of a reputable and understandable English translation or plural translations of the Bible. To devote yourself to, or to support the KJV Only message, is both without Biblical backing and counterproductive to the kingdom of God, as it hinders one’s comprehension of Scripture and divides Christians. Persecution is also involved here. It surfaces in both the form of exclusion, as well as hate. The hate many KJV Onlyites have towards non-KJV Only people clearly indicates serious spiritual problems! It is impossible to be hateful and a possessor of eternal life at the same time (1 John 3:14,15).

Also, regarding the translation controversy, the King James Version of the Bible states the last phrase in 1 John 2:23, that is, the words “(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also” in italics indicating it is not in the Greek. The KJV’s Greek Textus Receptus left those words out, but they appear in the English. More clear is the total omission of the word “me” in John 14:14 (KJV), the exact thing they accuse modern translations of! That omission helps to conceal the deity of Christ via prayer TO Jesus. Finally, there were NO Christians, who were KJV onlyites before 1611. The word of God existed before the 1611 KJV and one can be a Christian without the KJV. GOD BLESS YOU.

Antichrist Technology

Antichrist technology is here NOW!  Watch for yourself and notice that, with slight modifications, especially with the RFID computer chip already in existence, the rule of antichrist might come a lot sooner than some have been thinking! Palm scanners are being used now and seem to be just a step or two from the real thing:

He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. (Rev 13:16,17)

NOTE: The real mark of the beast is NOT out yet!

Pride Is A Killer

One of the less obvious spiritual killer sins is pride. Pride can be very subtle, unlike theft, slander, murder, the form of adultery that David committed and many other sins. proud manSome people in pride surely aren’t aware of it or its danger, for if they were they would change! To be proud is to have God against you, which means you are a sure guaranteed loser. It is much worse to be proud than to have the devil himself and all the demons opposing you since God is infinitely greater than them. Here is the warning to take to heart:

Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. (1 Peter 5:5,6)

Those are not mere idle words about pride. God opposes the proud. Since we are saved by grace (Eph. 2:5,8), then one MUST be humble, and not proud, to get grace to be saved. So how does God oppose the proud? Here is the answer:

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.” (Mat 11:25)

The context shows that God hides one’s vital need of repentance from them if they are proud, while he reveals such to the humble (or little children). Remember, in Jesus’ teaching (found in Luke 18:9-14), it wasn’t the proud pharisee, who looked down on everyone else, who prayed for mercy because of his sins and got it. It was the sincere and humble tax collector, who prayed to God for mercy and who got forgiven:

But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, God have mercy on me a sinner.’ I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. (Luke 18:13,14)

Pride and humility are contrasted there. Pride is the killer, while humility led to forgiveness and salvation. Don’t let pride blind your vital spiritual needs. Don’t let pride be your downfall. Humble yourself, as the sincere tax collector did. Pray as he did. It still works today. God bless you.

Useless Catholic Prayer To Mary

Folks, please consult the Holy Bible to learn how to pray and how not to pray. The following is a prime example of how not to pray. It also clearly reveals, as the Memorare does, that Catholics do pray TO Mary. Remember their Mary is not a typical person! Though imaginary, in their mind she is the sovereign Queen of Heaven and there are none that can withstand her power:prayer and worship of mary

Prayer To The Blessed Virgin (Never Known to Fail). Oh Most Beautiful Flower of Mt. Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. Oh Star of the Sea help me and show me, here You are my Mother. Oh Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succor me in this necessity (make request). There are none that can withstand your power. Oh Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Holy Mary I place this prayer in your hands. Say this prayer three times a day for three consecutive days. (Pittsburgh Catholic, 3-15-13, p. 6)

Did you notice all those Mary titles? Sad, isn’t it? Again, do NOT pray like that. It is grossly unscriptural and empty and will fail. Pray to God. God is Almighty and he hears the prayers of the righteous. God bless you.
