Why Isn’t The Biblical Message Clearer

[Bible Comment] My question is this: If what Jesus said was so important as to our very salvation in the bible, why is it that he is not here right now to clear it up once and for all. The bible says that God is the Father. If I as a father said something very important to my son or daughter I would not leave it up to chance, after my death. If I had the power I would come back after my death and dramatically prove my words and not just leave it up to misinterpretation as all are now reading the bible today and making their own ideas of what the bible really says. A truly loving God would not leave us all to our own devices but would come back dramatically NOW and once and for all state the truth  about our purpose in life and salvation. The authors of the old testament speak as if God is speaking himself: ie: Thus Saith the Lord or God shouted down from heaven. Why does not God shout down from heaven NOW so that ALL can be convinced rather than just leave it up to us all to misinterpret the bible on our own.

[Bible Answer] None of the issues you (or any atheist) can cite will change God’s perfect way of doing things. A basic fact about the loving God of the Bible is that we must seek him with all of our heart to find him (Jer. 29:13). Many aren’t willing to pay that price and therefore make the fatal mistake of relying on some teacher to declare to them the Biblical message. Most of the popular teachers in our day, which are allegedly representing Christianity, are not from God!  (We are in an apostasy.) False prophets and false teachers are not declaring God’s truth (with the sometimes disturbing verses), but instead tend to focus on accommodating their audience! They are blind leaders of the blind (Mt. 15:14). They comprise a long list of smiley friendly seemingly harmless people who will hold your hand, take your money and lead you to hell. Joel Osteen, the prosperity teachers, eternal security teachers, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Catholics, Seventh Day Adventists, Messianic Jews, etc. are just some of the main ones, but there are others!  God’s ways and thoughts are NOT like our flawed thoughts and ways (Isa. 55:8,9).  His ways are much better and they consider eternity and the spiritual. Your finite rationale, questioning and blaming God for man’s misunderstandings are therefore flawed for various reasons!

  • It is impossible for any finite being to understand the infinite invisible God, apart from Scripture.
  • To consider all of the Bible on any subject is essential to understand what is the correct interpretation and what are the false interpretations. If one does a careful, tedious, time-consuming personal study, his understanding will sky-rocket, IF he puts into practice the truth he learns along the way.
  • Without the Spirit of God to personally teach us (John 14:26), one will surely get a wrong interpretation about salvation and other things. Hence, salvation itself (when one’s body becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit) is required. Until then a spiritual veil is over one’s heart hiding the truth (2 Cor. 3:14-16).
  • God doesn’t shout down from heaven his eternal truths for all to hear because he set this salvation system up differently. He opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble (1 Pet. 5:5). He hides truth from the wise and prudent and reveals it to babes (Mt. 11:25). It is through the preaching of the gospel that people believe on Jesus and get saved (1 Cor. 1:21 cf. Rom. 10:17).

Jesus has the words of eternal life (John 6:68). Various salvation truths from the Lord are very simple and clear, such as Mt. 7:21; Luke 8:21; John 3:16; Mt. 10:22; Mark 1:15; Luke 18:13,14; John 15:1-6; Luke 13:3; Mt. 25:46; Rev. 2:10,11; etc. All of these verses must harmonize to assure the correct interpretation, which doesn’t exist when a false understanding is present.

Seek the spiritual hidden treasure in the field and pearl of great price and pay the cost to get it for your own good. Be assured that JESUS is the greatest treasure one could ever have. He is our only spiritual preparation for our own inevitable death. Without him there will be no rest for your soul and peace with God here, plus a fiery eternity beyond the grave. JESUS IS ALIVE and one day you and I both (along with all others) will bow before him and confess him as Lord (Phil. 2:11), regardless if you believe it now or not. Remember 1 Cor. 6:9-11.

The Locust Plague – 17 Year Cicada

God does control and uses insects such as the locust for various reasons. In Moses’ day, one of the great plagues against the Pharaoh was with locusts:

So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, “This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me. If you refuse to let them go, I will bring locusts into your country tomorrow. They will cover the face of the ground so that it cannot be seen. They will devour what little you have left after the hail, including every tree that is growing in your fields. 17 year cicadasThey will fill your houses and those of all your officials and all the Egyptians–something neither your fathers nor your forefathers have ever seen from the day they settled in this land till now.'” Then Moses turned and left Pharaoh. (Exo 10:3-6)

Locusts have been a dread to farmers and others who have crops, fruit trees, etc. The Bible says, He [God] gave their crops to the grasshopper, their produce to the locust. (Psa 78:46) God sometimes uses them as a judgment, as in Exodus and in the days of Joel:

What the locust swarm has left the great locusts have eaten; what the great locusts have left the young locusts have eaten; what the young locusts have left other locusts have eaten. Wake up, you drunkards, and weep! Wail, all you drinkers of wine; wail because of the new wine, for it has been snatched from your lips. (Joel 1:4,5)

Just living in our cursed age brings many sorrows and sighs, even for the righteous. For those of us living in the NE part of the USA, the 17 year cicadas (locust-like insects) may soon be coming out of the ground and with them their devastating effects on certain types of vegetation.  17 year cicadasIf you are of that number, when the millions of cicadas come out of the ground, remember it was even worse for Pharaoh in the days of Moses!

[BTW, one day there will be no more sorrow and sighing for the redeemed (Isa. 35:10), but plenty of weeping and gnashing of teeth for the wicked dead (Mt. 13:41,42)! Do you know Jesus?]

Help Me, If You Can

[Bible Question] I know my time is about to run out. I am 70 years old. I would like to know the truth, but I think I already do. My life has been pure hell from the day I was born as my dad cursed me constantly. People have told me though the years I have a black cloud hanging over my head. I be married 4 times and all have been pure hell after a while, as it is with this one as she drinks day and night and it is constant hell living with her. I have been smoking for over 50 years and have tried every thing there is to stop and now I have a tumor on my tongue and was told to quit be doctors. I have had the hiccups day and night for over 5 years been to 35 doctors and they do not know why. I also have A.D.D.  I have tried praying to God, fasting, being still, had people pray for me, used prayer cloths, beat my chest, went to a guy who was a deliverance minister, but never help us, I gave Him my life and would do anything in my power to serve Him. And would do anything, if I understood what to do. If I knew and had been taught this, I would have lived my life differently for sure! As I have found out to late that there is only one power, had I been born to different parents my life might have been different.  I do not want to be lost forever; just thinking about it makes me cry. All I do day and night is think about him and things get worst every day….It says in Romans that it not of him who wills or runs it who God shows mercy. I believe I am a vessel of destructing! It says “life and death are in the power of the tongue and I am damming myself for telling the truth! And 4 women can\’t be wrong and all those others can\’t be either, including my dad as he never curse my brother and sister like he did me. They all say I am not fit for the dung pile. Jesus said there would be gnashing of teeth and mine are worn out from it. He also said it would be better than some were not born, and I wish I wasn’t. It is hard to love a God who would do all this to me for no reason, at least Job knew God, I do not,but I am no one to question Him. I guess it would no make any difference what I do as far as He is concerned, if I quit taking my medicines or whatever, I will do anything to escape this place if I could….Why am I not good and will be destroyed? or is there any hope ?…Please do not think I am feeling sorry for myself as I don’t and I would die right now if I knew I was not lost…will He remember me in the Resurrection? The old saying everyone want to go to heaven but no one wants to die, well I do….I need these demons cast out of me!

[Bible Answer] In the Old Testament there is a character named Manasseh. He was the son of a godly man, Hezekiah. Even though he had the unique and exceptional opportunity to do great things for God, he instead did great things for the devil!  He turned out to be one of the most evil people in the Bible!  Rather than me cite what his miserable life was like, take the time and read it for yourself in 2 Chronicles 33:1-10. Read on down to verse 20 too, which shows what occurred that led him to salvation (and peace with God). You are not like Mannasseh. There was hope for him and there surely is hope for you, but only in God. Also, to have God you must have Jesus. You need to make it personal. He must be your own personal Lord and Savior even though he died for everyone’s sins. You need to cry out humbly and sincerely to God for mercy and ask God to forgive you of your sins. Commit yourself to Jesus as you turn from your sins. You must turn away from wickedness to serve the Lord. True salvation will bring rest for your soul (Mt. 11:28,29) and freedom from your sin addictions (Romans 6:22).

Make your life count for God! People around you are in the greatest danger (hell), yet unaware of their spiritual needs. You can help them much, IF you get forgiven first. Remember how to prepare for death.

BTW, I once heard that if you touch the back of your throat with the round underside of a spoon it will stop hiccups. It is worth a try.

There is hope for YOU1 Cor. 6:9-11. God bless you.

Suicide On The Rise

suicide is on the riseMany people are in hopelessly painful circumstances. For many, no remedy can be found. Sadly, some see self murder as a quick way to escape their pain. Some even wrongly think they will then enter Paradise afterwards. Suicide victims vary. Some are:

Unfortunately, suicide is on the rise to the great regret of the surviving families and the suicide victims themselves. People need to recognize suicide as a satanic temptation and therefore resist his evil thoughts and suggestions. It is the devil who wants people to sin in that way, which offers them no chance of forgiveness through repentance afterwards, unlike most other sins. Here are some of the latest statistics showing suicide is on the rise in the United States:

Over the last decade, the rate of suicide among adults ages 35 to 64 increased 28 percent, from 13.7 suicides per 100,000 people in 1999, to 17.6 suicides per 100,000 people in 2010. The greatest increases in suicide rates were among people ages 55 to 59 (a 49 percent increase) and ages 50 to 54 (a 48 percent increase). (http://www.foxnews.com/health/2013/05/02/suicide-rates-spike-among-middle-aged-us-adults/)

Remember, suicide is NEVER an easy out! Don’t do it. Don’t even entertain such demonic thoughts. Make your life count for God. Live for him. Be an honor to Jesus and you’ll be very happy after your death.

Why Did Jesus Die On The Cross

cross of ChristIf you asked most people, Why did Jesus die on the cross, they would say something like so we could get forgiven and go to heaven after our death. Surprisingly, Peter referred to that event, but stated he took our sins for a different reason – one which is very foreign in our day!

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.  (1 Pet 2:24)

Again, Peter stated Jesus died on the cross so:

  • we might die to sin
  • live for righteousness

Dear reader, is that what you are doing? Have you died to sin? Are you living for righteousness NOW? Notice what Paul wrote:

[Jesus Christ] who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.  (Titus 2:14)

Similar to Peter, Paul stated Jesus died on the cross for us (gave himself for us) to:

  • redeem us from all wickedness
  • purify for himself people who are eager to do what is good

Both Peter and Paul shed precious light on the cross, which is foreign in our day. Furthermore, both of them declared that Jesus redeemed us with no help from anyone else. That fact is significant for Catholics, who have been incorrectly taught that Mary is co-redeemer with Jesus!  We remain in a widespread spiritual apostasy.

[Dear reader, do you know the others reasons why Jesus came to earth? Read the Bible carefully for yourself and change accordingly. It is your only sure source of spiritual truth.]

Catholic Mary on Hospital Window

It has happened again, that is, another image of “Mary” has appeared! This time it is on a hospital window in Malaysia. Catholics have been influenced by it to pray the rosary and light candles! Sadly, the deception about the Catholic Mary is a worldwide phenomena and has a powerful death grip on many sincere people, who don’t know the Biblical salvation message or the fact that the devil can appear as an angel of light to deceive (2 Cor. 11:14). As a former Catholic, I (Dan Corner) know from first hand experience their non Biblical beliefs and pagan practices under Papal influence!

Are There Paul and Joseph Smith Parallels

[Bible Comment] I recently came out of Mormonism and have been attending a Calvary Chapel church. When I kept hearing the accounts of Paul I noticed that they often contradicted the words of Jesus. This bothered me so I was doing more research. I am hyper-sensitive about getting deceived after being a Mormon for 30 years. I found that Paul had multiple accounts of his “first vision” and he often even contradicts himself (Similar to Joseph Smith). He calls himself an apostle, but there are no witnesses to his apostleship. He says he is getting all of his information not from the other apostles, but as direct revelation from God. Paul states that the son is revealing himself through Paul. Something seems really fishy to me. The parallels between Paul and Joseph Smith shock me…. They say that the entire bible is of the same value and that the words that Jesus spoke are no more important than the words that Paul spoke because it is all written by the power of God….What are your thoughts?

[Bible Answer] Greetings in Jesus’ name.  To go to a Calvary Chapel church is to go to a congregation which distorts grace.  That is not a spiritually healthy
environment to be in! Have you seen this about Chuck Smith? For your own good leave ASAP!!!!

Please tell me what seems like a contradiction about Paul’s conversion/salvation vision?  Are you seeing a contradiction in the flawed KJV, which has various translational errors? Since Mormons are KJV onlyites, perhaps you were presented with that translation instead of more accurate ones.

Please know that Paul did NOT contradict Jesus. If someone said otherwise,
please get exact with Bible references. Paul taught Christians, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly” (Col. 3:16) and fully endorsed all of Scripture (2 Tim. 3:16,17). How could that be if he contradicted Jesus? Furthermore, Paul was fully endorsed by other Apostles, including Peter (2 Pet. 3:15,16) and Barnabas (Acts 9:27).  Were both Peter and Barnabas wrong about Paul?  Was the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15 deceived about allowing Paul to share his apostolic experiences and his teachings?  In fact, it was Paul and Barnabas who brought the issue of “circumcision” to the leaders in Jerusalem, which resulted in that church council about salvation.  If he was a false apostle, he would not have been recognized like he was.  In fact, just the opposite occurred and they highly endorsed Paul (and Barnabas) with this:

So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul– men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 15:25,26)

Another weighty endorsement of Paul came through Ananias:

A man named Ananias came to see me. He was a devout observer of the law and highly respected by all the Jews living there. He stood beside me and said, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight!’ And at that very moment I was able to see him. “Then he said: ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth. You will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.’ (Acts22:12-15)

To say Paul was a false apostle is to deny that the Bible is God’s word, because Paul was inspired by God to write half of the New Testament books. Paul did NOT contradict Jesus. The council at Jerusalem (Acts 15) didn’t contradicted Jesus either!  It came after the Jewish Temple was negated by Jesus’ death on the cross. Things changed after his redemptive death.

The similarity between Paul and Joseph Smith is as light to darkness. Paul was a true servant and Joseph Smith was a Bible-defined false prophet who made various false prophecies.  Joseph Smith also stands condemned by Mormon Scripture! Mormonism uses Biblical terms but to them they mean something totally different than how the Bible uses them. There are NO significant similarities between the two. Please do NOT be deceived…. Remember Heb. 3:14.

Deceivers, Liars and Slanderers

As hard as the road to life is (Mt. 7:14), it is even made harder by people who distort the truth and slander for its negative effect on their intended victim! If you have suffered this way, you know what it is like. Deceitful words can be very powerful and have caused great damage, even death. Hence, slanderers, liars and the like will be thrown into the lake of fire for their wickedness. Remember, such persecution will yield a reward for the righteous. Jesus also taught:

Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets. (Luke 6:26)

See also John 15:19,20.

Paul, An Egyptian Terrorist Leader

The Apostle Paul was a consistently holy, zealous, faithful servant of God and soul winner, who certainly had beautiful feet. He suffered much in various ways because he was committed to God to that degree. Among other perplexing events in his spiritual battle, some must have said, Paul was an Egyptian terrorist leader of 4,000, at exactly the wrong time!

“Aren’t you the Egyptian who started a revolt and led four thousand terrorists out into the desert some time ago?” (Acts 21:38)

That was spoken by a commander of Roman soldiers. How he heard that baseless rumor is a Bible mystery, but it certainly wasn’t reality.  Though Paul was a leader and was the cause of multiple riots over the gospel as he traveled about, he maintained a holy and Jesus-glorifying life. If those facts were distorted, he could be misrepresented and smeared as an Egyptian terrorist leader of 4,000! If Paul was really an Egyptian terrorist leader he would be in serious trouble, since he was already incarcerated by Roman soldiers. Perhaps someone wanted Paul dead and lied to that extreme to accomplish it. It is a clear fact that Paul had many enemies who wanted him dead because he taught God’s truth.

Ziba Slandered Mephibosheth

When Absolom was trying to steal the kingdom away from his father King David, Ziba (the servant of Mephibosheth) met David as he was fleeing. Ziba slandered Mephibosheth for land:

The king then asked, “Where is your master’s grandson?” Ziba said to him, “He is staying in Jerusalem, because he thinks, ‘Today the house of Israel will give me back my grandfather’s kingdom.’” Then the king said to Ziba, “All that belonged to Mephibosheth is now yours.” “I humbly bow,” Ziba said. “May I find favor in your eyes, my lord the king.” (2 Sam 16:3,4)

Three chapters later, after Absolom was dead, Mephibosheth meets King David as he returns to Jerusalem:

Mephibosheth, Saul’s grandson, also went down to meet the king. He had not taken care of his feet or trimmed his mustache or washed his clothes from the day the king left until the day he returned safely. When he came from Jerusalem to meet the king, the king asked him, “Why didn’t you go with me, Mephibosheth?” He said, “My lord the king, since I your servant am lame, I said, ‘I will have my donkey saddled and will ride on it, so I can go with the king.’ But Ziba my servant betrayed me. And he has slandered your servant to my lord the king. My lord the king is like an angel of God; so do whatever pleases you. All my grandfather’s descendants deserved nothing but death from my lord the king, but you gave your servant a place among those who sat at your table. So what right do I have to make any more appeals to the king?” The king said to him, “Why say more? I order you and Ziba to divide the fields.” (2 Sam 19:24-29)

Was Stephen A Blasphemer

Stephen was a mighty man of God who was martyred early in his ministry. How did he die? It all started with the false charge that he was an immoral man — a blasphemer:

But they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke. Then they secretly persuaded some men to say, “We have heard Stephen speak words of blasphemy against Moses and against God.” So they stirred up the people and the elders and the teachers of the law. They seized Stephen and brought him before the Sanhedrin. They produced false witnesses, who testified, “This fellow never stops speaking against this holy place and against the law. For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs Moses handed down to us.” (Acts 6:10-14)

The penalty for blasphemy was death by stoning. Though Stephen wasn’t immoral, he was presented as such by others he refuted doctrinally. Stephen’s wicked but religious enemies wanted him out of the way and were willing to mishandle the facts to have him murdered!

Were Jesus and John Demon Possessed

Even the sinless Lord Jesus and John the Baptist were misrepresented and slandered. They both spoke God’s truth and Jesus was love incarnate.  Sin loving false teachers were Jesus’ worst enemies. They were also the established leaders of that day. Their slander was cruel and unjust and designed to hinder and stop Jesus’ vital influences:

For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, “He has a demon.” The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, “Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and ‘sinners.’”  (Luke 7:33,34)

And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He [Jesus] is possessed by Beelzebub! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.” (Mark 3:22)

In fact, there was even a point in time when Mary thought Jesus was crazy! Since horrible misrepresentations and beliefs like those are not new, if you are godly don’t be overly disturbed when such comes your way. To be insulted and have your name rejected as evil goes with living holy in this evil and deceptive society (Luke 6:22,23). Liars and slanderers will not inherit God’s kingdom. Don’t follow their example or share in their sins.

Who Are The Righteous

It is vital to be righteous in God’s eyes when your spirit departs from your physical body. Why? Because it is only the righteous who go to eternal life (Mat 25:46). All the non righteous (or unrighteous) do not inherit God’s kingdom and will enter through the wide gate to destruction (1 Cor. 6:9-11 cf. Mt. 7:13,14).

The Unrighteous

1 Cor. 6:9,10 give a listing of the unrighteous who are such because of certain sins. Eph. 5:5-7, Gal. 5:19-21 and Rev. 21:8 add to the 1 Cor. 6:9,10 listing. Are You RighteousAn apparent observation from those passages is that certain sins will change a righteous person into an unrighteous person and thereby negate his inheritance of the kingdom (salvation). Hence, sin is still the issue, even now after the cross of Christ and the righteous need warned. That is why we read many Scriptures which indicate that, including Heb. 12:4, In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.

Since the Christian’s spirit is alive because of righteousness (Rom. 8:10) and initially gets that way because of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 1:30; etc.), then if that horrible spiritual reversal does occur through backsliding, then the backslider experiences spiritual death and he is worse off in the end then if he never knew the way of righteousness (2 Pet. 2:20-22). If he turns away from his wickedness to serve God, he can become alive again (Lk. 15:24), as the prodigal son and others have become. (Not everyone who backslides returns to salvation again.)

The Righteous

The best way to know who the righteous are is to note the other names, descriptions, etc. which apply to them. The righteous:

  • believe in Jesus (Acts 22:19; Jn. 3:16),
  • are saints (1 Cor. 14:33),
  • followers of Christ (Jn. 10:27),
  • pure in heart (Mt. 5:8),
  • obedient (Heb. 5:9),
  • they put into practice God’s word (Lk. 8:21),
  • are not of this world any more than Jesus is of this world (Jn. 17:14),
  • have Jesus as their first love (Rev. 2:5),
  • love God (1 Cor. 2:9),
  • live holy (Heb. 12:14; Rev. 21:27),
  • have a faith in Jesus which results in good works (John 5:29; James 2:14-18, 26),
  • sow to please the Spirit (Gal. 6:8,9) and
  • are persecuted for godly living (Mt. 5:10; 2 Tim. 3:12).

Know These Symptoms Of Heart Disease

That is just a partial listing, which presents a much clearer picture of the Christian, the godly or righteous person than just one or two verses (and should describe you now). The following two passages also further clarify this issue:

Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey–whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? (Rom 6:16)

Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil …. (1 John 3:7,8)

Religious Deceivers and Who Are Righteous

NOTE: John warned us all about religious deceivers who will try to mislead us about who are the righteous. Unfortunately, that exact attempted deception is occurring and has been lethally successful through the damnable heresy of eternal security and their imputed righteousness propaganda! The eternal security teachers cite verses which they misuse to teach that a moment of regenerating saving faith in Jesus is all one needs to forever be righteous in God’s sight, regardless what one does or doesn’t do afterwards. Their grace teaching is a dangerous lie, license for sin and heresy, though it is popular and treasured, as something precious rather than the deadly snare that it is.

If the above details about the righteous don’t depict you now, then you need to radically change. Your soul is in the greatest danger. Do NOT be deceived about who are the righteous. Your eternity beyond the grave hangs in the balance over this issue! You are battling for eternity! You must die as a righteous person to enter God’s kingdom.
