Sinning Ignorantly vs Deliberate Sin

[Bible Question] The apostle Saint Paul states in 1 Tim 1:13 that he received mercy because he had sinned ignorantly. If you look at the surrounding verses 14/16 the context seem to be mercy shown when he sought forgiveness. Had Paul not done those things ignorantly would his pleas for forgiveness have been rejected? In the Old Testament no sacrifices were made for deliberate sin. What is your interpretation of this scripture. Thanks,

deliberate sin willful sin[Bible Answer] Greetings in Jesus’ name. Here is the passage you referred to:

Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. (1 Tim 1:13-16)

Paul was referring to his pre Christian life when he persecuted Christians (both men and women) to their death (Acts 22:4)! That was his sin. During that time he actually thought he was serving God, while serving the devil! That is how he was the worst of sinners, which only refers to his great wickedness prior to him receiving mercy and getting salvation. [Paul (as a Christian) was holy, righteous and blameless (1 Thess. 2:10; 1 Tim. 1:5; etc.), unlike what the eternal security teachers want us to believe.]

There definitely are different degrees of sin. There is a major difference between judging death inflicted by malice aforethought in contrast to homicide which was accidental (Ex. 21:12-14; Num. 35:20-25; Dt. 19:4-6 cf. 19:11-13). Hebrews 10:27, 28 speaks of deliberate sin. The context of the whole book connects it to those in Hebrews 6:4-6 who fell away and could not get saved again through repentance unlike others (Lk. 15:24; James 5:19,20; Rom. 11:19-23), but why were they so different? The implied answer is they had deliberately committed eternal sin, which is unforgivable. In fact, it is the only type of sin which is not forgivable!

Not The Typical Type Of Sin

Paul’s sin of ignorance, before becoming a Christian, was not the typical type of sin! Neither is the deliberate sin of Heb. 10:27,28 associated with a man trampling the Son of God under foot, treating as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace (Heb 10:29). That same type of extreme sin must be the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit because it is not forgivable. NOTE: Such was a former Christian — one who was sanctified by Jesus’ blood (Heb. 10:29) — who fell to that extreme degree and consequently had the raging fire of hell awaiting him with no hope of becoming alive again as with the Prodigal son (Lk. 15:24)!  The Prodigal repented of his deliberate sins and found forgiveness, but the kind of sin in Heb. 10:27-29 has no hope of forgiveness, because it is eternal sin. Eternal sin is NOT sexual sin, drunkenness, murder, bank robbery, etc. Eternal sin is believing/saying Jesus had a demon and by the power of the devil he performed his miracles (Mk. 3:22-30). That was the deliberate unforgivable sin of Hebrews 10 and Hebrews 6:4-6, but not Paul’s horrible sins before his salvation.  Remember, twice lost always lost is false as is eternal security. Hopefully that helps. God bless you.

Don’t Miss the Rapture

[Bible Comment] Our pastor preached on the rapture today. One of his main points was that if you miss the rapture, you are likely to be deceived by the Great delusion and end up in hellfire if you haven’t made up your mind about following Jesus. There are a lot of people looking into becoming a believer but think that they still have time to get right with GOD. After all, they are taught about the mid or post trib position, so that they think they will see the AntiChrist and the first several trumpets before having to make up their mind about following Jesus. This is SO dangerous, as the Pre trib rapture may well be correct….

post trib rapture[Bible Answer] Greetings in Jesus’ name. What you were taught is built upon the faulty concept that the pre trib rapture is true, but it isn’t. Because it is mythical, that automatically reduces down the teacher’s whole conclusion to empty useless words. It’s like saying, IF there really is a tooth fairy or IF Santa Claus is true, then….  A valid conclusion must be built upon truth.  Please examine the Biblical evidence for a post trib rapture for yourself and without preconceived ideas. It is clear and there will be no pre trib rapture, as nice as that would be. Truth is often very disturbing, but it doesn’t change truth.

Furthermore, for anyone to wait to repent to get forgiven of his sins is foolish and very dangerous. We will all die, unless we go up in the rapture (1 Cor. 15:51).  The rapture could be scores of years down the road. Meanwhile, millions will die and enter eternity. We must all get ready to depart and stay ready. This is serious business.

Finally, in no salvation sermon recorded in Scripture (Acts 10:34-43; 13:16-41; etc.) did any servant of God ever cite the danger of missing the rapture and being deceived by the Great delusion as a reason for his audience to repent. Remember, there absolutely is NO once saved always saved. GOD BLESS YOU

Another Lying Devil

Our day is rampant with blatant outlandish religious deception. Such deceit often comes through various types of religious leaders cloaked with authority. For example, Stephen Scheier, a Catholic priest, gives his alleged NDE testimony of what he claims happened after he died. He states how Mother Mary saved him from hell after Jesus condemns him there:

At the end of his speaking, he [Jesus] said, “The sentence that you will have for all eternity is Hell.” I thought internally, “I know this is what I deserve.” Um, at that moment, I heard a female voice. The voice said, “Son, would you please spare his life?” Our Lord said, “Mother, he has been a priest for 12 years for himself and not for me. Let him reap the punishment he deserves.” At that I heard her say in response, “But Son, if we give to him special graces and strengths and come to him in ways that he is not familiar with and see if he bears fruit. If he does not, then your will be done.” There was a very short pause and he said, “Mother, he’s yours.”

The Bible says:

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)

Mythical Most Gracious Advocate

Stephen Scheier’s NDE testimony is truly appalling to anyone with even a basic understanding of God’s word. That same Catholic priest also said the following, which centers around the mythical Mary of Catholicism and deifies her:

We have an advocate in Heaven, an advocate to whom God the Father and his Son, and the Holy Spirit, her spouse, are unable to say “No” to. They, it’s impossible for them to say No to her. Isn’t that the kind of person that, that we would like on our side a whole time …

Biblically Tested and Shown Wanting

1. Jesus is our only advocate (1 John 2:1, 1 Tim. 2:5), not Mary.
2. To elevate Mary to such a degree that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit can’t say “No” to her makes Mary the sovereign ruler instead of God! Only God is sovereign.
3. If his experience was true, then Mary becomes the focus and savior instead of JESUS! However, in the Bible God himself and all his servants make Jesus the focus for salvation and other important things, without including Mary.

Possible Reasons For Him Failing The Test

We can’t be sure why that Catholic priest was so far from spiritual reality with his NDE, but such is proof in itself that NDEs are NOT reliable. It is possible that:

1. The priest flatly lied.
2. He had a hallucination, but thought it was real.
3. Demons gave him that Marian vision.
4. Something else occurred, which wasn’t from God.

One thing is absolutely certain. It is impossible that what he stated is from God. Why? Because his testimony and message violently contradict the Biblical message and elevates Mary to an idolatrous level!  Since the Holy Spirit inspired the writings of the Bible, for any person to give a testimony, experience, teaching, etc. which is out of harmony with the Bible, proves that the spiritual source was NOT the God of the Bible and void of truth. The Bible teaches devotion to Jesus Christ, not devotion to Mary. The Bible is final authority (2 Tim. 3:16,17). DO NOT BE DECEIVED.

Woman Caught In Adultery

A woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus (John 8:6). In short, after the accusers of the woman caught in adultery left, we read:

Woman Caught In Adultery Scripture

Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”  “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:10,11)

Neither Do I Condemn You!

Because of Jesus’ words neither do I condemn you have been removed from their context some people throw those words around as to downplay and excuse sexual sin as something far less serious than what it actually is. woman caught in adulteryPlease know the condemnation Jesus didn’t place upon the woman caught in adultery was stoning to death, the penalty under the law of Moses!  That surely doesn’t mean her sin of adultery was a trifling matter before God! Regarding sexual sin Jesus taught:

He went on: “What comes out of a man is what makes him ‘unclean.’ For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man ‘unclean.'” (Mark 7:20-23)

Sins listed above spiritually defile and the seriousness of that is clearly revealed in the following passage:

Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. (Rev 21:27)

That’s another way of saying that the sin of adultery (and all sexual sin), unless forgiven through repentance, will exclude one from God’s kingdom (1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph. 5:5-7; Rev. 21:8; etc.) and the guilty party will be thrown into the lake of fire. That condemnation is much greater and very different from the condemnation of stoning to death Jesus didn’t place the woman caught in adultery.

Leave Your Life of Sin

BTW, Jesus also told that same woman caught in adultery to REPENT, but with these words, “Go now and leave your life of sin.” Please know that God’s word can be misused and twisted (and has been) to allow for something which is very evil, lethally deadly and never intended in the meaning.

Adultery Will Condemn You

DO NOT BE DECEIVED. IT IS HOLINESS OR HELL. Adultery will condemn yo and the woman caught in adultery was no exception to that!

Serial Killer Gary Ridgway Forgiven By Victim’s Father

Gary Ridgway (born in 1949) was a serial killer in the 1980s and 1990s in the state of Washington. He killed 70 or more people, mostly prostitutes, and was known as the Green River Murderer.  He is also known as the most prolific serial killer in America’s history!

Gary Ridgway Finds Forgiveness

Gary Ridgway serial killer Green River MurdererVarious family members of the victims addressed Gary Ridgway, after his conviction, in the courtroom with anger and hatred, but one (Robert Rule) was righteously different and shined out because he forgave Gary Ridgway for murdering his own daughter!  This video is very touching! BE SURE TO WATCH IT. Jesus taught:

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Mat 6:14,15)

Jesus taught we forgive others FOR OUR OWN SAKE! We must forgive others who sin against us to get forgiven ourselves.  In connection with this, Jesus also taught:forgiveness

If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven. (John 20:23)

Reader, don’t let the devil take you down through unforgiveness. It is one of the most subtle and unrecognized satanic temptations there is and is designed to destroy you! SIN is still the issue with God.

Gary Ridgway Confessed

(BTW: Gary Ridgway confessed to his many murders, but “passed” a lie detector test earlier, proving they are NOT reliable!)

Who Was The Prophet Like Moses – Mohammed or Jesus?

Islam teaches that Mohammed was a prophet and the one likened unto Moses, as mentioned in Deut. 18:15-19. Christianity teaches the Lord Jesus is that prophet:

The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. prophet like mosesYou must listen to him. For this is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.”  The LORD said to me: “What they say is good. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account.

Are the Moslem’s claim about Mohammed being likened unto Moses true or have they somehow been misinformed, as with God’s choice of Isaac, and not Ishmael, for his covenant promise?  What is the evidence about the prophet likened unto Moses?

Peter

Peter preached the following and referred to the prophet likened unto Moses. He believed that prophet was the Lord Jesus:

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you–even Jesus. He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets. For Moses said, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from among his people.” (Acts 3:19-23)

Though it may sound strange for Peter to refer to the Lord Jesus as a prophet, make no mistake about it, that Jesus was/is also much more than just a prophet likened unto Moses! The Lord Jesus has over 100 titles and names of various types reflecting his infinite importance in all spiritual matters, including receiving worship and being God in the flesh. Jesus, though a prophet like Moses, is worthy of greater honor:

Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, testifying to what would be said in the future. But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast. (Heb 3:3-6)

The Lord Jesus Is The Prophet

The sinless Lord Jesus declared that the words he spoke came from the Father. Furthermore, to reject Jesus’ teachings is to condemn yourself, which is also related to the prophet likened unto Moses:

There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day. For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say. (John 12:48-50)

The prophet like Moses would also have to be Jewish like Moses, which Jesus was. prophet like mosesMoses produced powerful miracles and signs, which Jesus also performed, but more of. Moreover, both the Lord Jesus Christ and Moses were powerful deliverers, with Jesus being much better and greater than Moses. Mohammed was not sinless, had no recorded signs or miracles in the Koran and was not a Jew. The overwhelming evidence clearly shows the Lord Jesus is the prophet likened unto Moses and much more. He also has the words of eternal life (John 6:68), which point us all to him:

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:11,12)

To have Jesus like that is to have rest for your soul (Mt. 11:28,29) and to be delivered from sin’s addictions. True Christians can relate to that precious truth:

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. (Rom 6:22)

Follow JESUS

How important do you think it is to follow Jesus? Do you think it is a salvation issue? If you examine what the Lord Jesus taught you will notice he repeatedly told people to “Follow me.”  Those two words are the most concise way of preaching the gospel.follow Jesus For Jesus to say, Follow me implies:

  • submission to Jesus
  • trust in Jesus’ leadership

Two thousand years ago people did follow Jesus by walking behind him as he traveled along. Such followers also OBEYED his commands, as he sent them to do various things. Though a Christian can be defined in various ways, the Lord Jesus himself equated them to sheep and said “they follow me” (Jn. 10:27).

That same train of thought continues from John 10:27 down through John 10:28,29 which states the most wonderful salvation assurance verses in the Bible for those who qualify, that is, those who follow Jesus. Such blessed people alone will:

  • continuously be given eternal life
  • never perish
  • never get plucked out of Jesus’ hands
  • never get plucked out of the Father’s hands

Backsliders Used To Be Followers

Backsliders are people who used to follow Jesus, but are not doing so in the present time. follow JesusThey are NOT described in John 10:27-29. Somehow something led them astray. Backsliders have wandered from the truth and eternal life to:

  • follow Satan (1 Tim. 5:15)
  • follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons (1 Tim 4:1)
  • They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness (2 Pet 2:15)

For them to cease following Jesus means they ceased having a spiritual relationship with the Father. They disqualified themselves from eternal life by turning away from Jesus to another, whom they are now submitting and listening to.  The same message applies as Jesus told Peter, who returned to salvation after disowning him (Mt. 10:33) – Follow me (John 21:19,22).

HERETIC Pope Francis Offers Indulgences Via Twitter

If you do what the pope says on Twitter, you can get out of Purgatory quicker!

Vatican Council II on Indulgences

“… it [the Roman Catholic Church] condemns with anathema those who say that indulgences are useless or that the Church does not have the power to grant them.” (Vatican Council II printed by Costello Publishing Co., Northport, New York. Austin Flannery, O. P., is the general editor and each volume contains the Nihil Obstat and the Imprimatur. The editions are: 1984, Vol. 1, p. 71)

An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, which the faithful Christian who is duly disposed gains under certain defined conditions through the Church’s help when, as minister of Redemption, she dispenses and applies with authority the treasury of the satisfaction won by Christ and the saints.” (Ibid., p. 75)

“An indulgence is partial or plenary according as it removes either part or all of the temporal punishment due to sin.” (Ibid., p. 75)

The Catholic idea of indulgences is based on the non-existent place called Purgatory, a false belief embraced by Calvinism’s real founder, Augustine of Hippo.  In Catholicism, some who die are too good to go to heaven and not bad enough to go to hell. In their theology Purgatory exists. The chief verse used in support of praying for the dead is found in the Apocrypha. Here is how it reads from the 1611 King James Version, which did contain the Apocrypha:

(For if he had not hoped that they that were slaine should haue risen againe, it had bin superfluous and vaine, to pray for the dead.) And also in that he perceiued that there was great fauour layed vp for those that died godly. (It was an holy, and good thought) wherupon he made a reconciliation for the dead, that they might be deliuered from sinne. (2 Maccabees 12:44,45)

Father and Son Backslider Relationship

[Bible Comment] When we have a biological father he still is our father even if we stray.  When we ask Jesus in our heart God becomes our spiritual father. He is not our father one day and not the other based on our sin. We are in God’s family bound for heaven’s glory.

[Bible Answer] Greetings in Jesus’ name.father and son THANK YOU for your email. Please note the following verse:

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. (Col 2:8)

Hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ is the type of argument the eternal security teachers use when they reason as you did. They are wrong because spiritual truths are different than natural truths. We must go strictly by Scripture for teaching, correction, etc. (2 Tim. 3:16,17).  If we do that, it becomes VERY CLEAR that backsliders DIE SPIRITUALLY, as I detail in teachings on spiritual death and losing salvation.

The only ones who enter God’s paradise kingdom are OVERCOMERS. They
endure to the END for salvation’s sake (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; Rev. 2:10,11).  Please consult The Believer’s Conditional Security: Eternal Security Refuted at Evangelical Books for much more information on this salvation related issue. Following Jesus,
