Is The Comforter of John 16:7 The Holy Spirit or Mohammed

Strange to Christians, but basic in Islam is the idea that the Comforter in John 16:7 is Mohammed!mohammed Is that a viable possibility, according to the Bible?

John 16:7 Says

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.  (KJV)

So who would not come unless the Lord Jesus left the world, according to John 16:7? The answer is clearly revealed in the context:

I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:12,13)

The Comforter Is The Holy Spirit

The Spirit of truth (or Comforter) is the Holy Spirit and that is proven by looking at other verses regarding him. John 14:26 is the KEY:

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26, KJV)

That could not be more clear. The Comforter is the Holy Spirit and not Mohammed.Holy Spirit The various characteristics of the Comforter also excludes the founder of Islam and shows it is not based on God’s word. Though this is clear to Christians, Muslims were also wrongly taught the Bible has been corrupted (just like the Mormons were taught). Muslims will use any Biblical verse (like John 16:7), if it can be twisted to support Islam, but reject all the verses which teach otherwise, especially showing that Jesus is the son of God (Jn. 3:16; 1 Jn. 5:10; etc.) and deity (Jn. 1:1; 20:28; etc.). Here is a passage which shows both:

We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true–even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (1 John 5:20)

Do YOU know Jesus? Clearly, the Comforter is the Holy Spirit and is not related to Mohammed.

Goats

Jesus sometimes likened people to certain animals, such as a fox (Lk. 13:32), sheep (John 10:27),  pigs (Mt. 7:6) and goats. This is what he said about goats:

Separating The Sheep From The Goats

All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. (Mat 25:32,33)

Spiritual goats are definitely different from the sheep. According to Jesus’ teaching, goats will hear these ominous words in Mt. 25:

Then he will say to those on his left, “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.goats
For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.” They also will answer, “Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?” He will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.” Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. (Mat 25:41-46)

That passage is clear that all people will not be saved. Hence, there is no universal salvation, as people (like Gary Amirault) try to force out from the Bible. In the above passage from Matthew, Jesus pointed out their sins of omission (James 4:17) and condemned them to eternal punishment on that basis! For them, their condemning sins were all related to NOT helping poor, sick or imprisoned Christians! (That is NOT an exhaustive list of sins which damn. See also 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph. 5:5-7; Gal. 5:19-21; Rev. 21:8; John 15:1-6; etc.) James wrote of a dead faith (the faith of demons) which parallels what the goats mentioned in Matthew were guilty of:

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?goats Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:14-17)

Jesus Will Condemn The Goats

While Jesus’ sheep follow him (Jn. 10:27), the goats Jesus condemns don’t. Spiritually speaking, one’s spiritual identity changes from goat to sheep or from sheep to goat again. This can and does occur based on submission to the Lord Jesus (as the sheep have), or a refusal to do God’s will (Lk. 8:21).

I Have Sinned

i have sinned The phrase I have sinned is found throughout the Bible. It ranges from Pharaoh to Judas Iscariot. Strangely, not all who acknowledge their sin in that way repented to find forgiveness.  There is a definite difference between saying I have sinned and actually repenting. Here are six times where the phrase I have sinned is found:

Pharaoh

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. “This time I have sinned,” he said to them. “The LORD is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong.” (Exo 9:27)

Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.” (Exo 10:16)

Balaam

Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, “I have sinned. I did not realize you were standing in the road to oppose me. Now if you are displeased, I will go back.” (Num 22:34)

Balaam is the man who prayed to die the death of the righteous, yet didn’t!

King Saul

Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned. I violated the Lord’s command and your instructions. I was afraid of the people and so I gave in to them.”  (1 Sam 15:24)

Saul replied, “I have sinned. But please honor me before the elders of my people and before Israel; come back with me, so that I may worship the LORD your God.”  (1 Sam 15:30)

Then Saul said, “I have sinned. Come back, David my son. Because you considered my life precious today, I will not try to harm you again. Surely I have acted like a fool and have erred greatly.”  (1 Sam 26:21)

There is no evidence that King Saul ever got his salvation back. His backsliding began by being a man pleaser, which escalated downward. Even though Saul knew he would die the next day (1 Sam. 28:19), he didn’t repent. He sadly died in his sins and was another tragedy of a wasted life.

King David

Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.” Nathan replied, “The LORD has taken away your sin. You are not going to die.” (2 Sam 12:13)

Apparently, King David had repented before Nathan confronted him, for the Lord had taken away his sin. King David should have been stoned to death for his adultery, but wasn’t! To teach King David didn’t lose his salvation is to teach a license to sin.

David was conscience-stricken after he had counted the fighting men, and he said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. Now, O LORD, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing.”  (2 Sam 24:10)

Then David said to God, “I have sinned greatly by doing this. Now, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing.”  (1 Chr 21:8)

I said, “O LORD, have mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against you.”  (Psa 41:4)

To this day, people still mention King David and his sins of adultery and murder in their ungodly effort to justify their own sinful behavior. People need to know that when King David sinned, he lost his salvation. He later got it back, unlike others, through repentance.

Judas Iscariot

“I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” “What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.”  (Mat 27:4)

The intensity of our spiritual warfare is evident with Judas Iscariot, who was once promised a throne in heaven (Mt. 19:28), as Jesus’ disciple (Mt. 10:1-4). He once had salvation, but went to hell after his death. There was no eternal security for him, just like there is none for us!

Prodigal Son

I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. (Luke 15:18)

The son said to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.” (Luke 15:21)

Jesus’ encouraging teaching for backsliders who repent, like the Prodigal, are wonderful. Jesus taught the Prodigal Son lost his salvation, then got saved again, upon repentance (Lk. 15:24).

You Need More Than Just Saying I Have Sinned

Sometimes a person needs to become aware of his sins, before he says I have sinned, but that isn’t good enough in itself — there is more. One must truly repent, turning from his idols to serve God, as shown by the Prodigal and also in 1 Thess. 1:9. Dear reader, where are you with God TODAY? If you aren’t living holy now, you aren’t a Christian now.  Sin is still the issue with God, even after the cross (1 Cor. 6:9,10; Gal. 5:19-21; Eph. 5:5-7; Rev. 21:8)! Backslider, DO NOT BE DECEIVED!

The Horrible Decree Refuted

horrible decreeJohn Calvin’s (really Augustine’s) double predestination or Horrible Decree says one is elected to salvation or passed over as non elect by the sovereign choice of God! According to them man has no free will or choice in salvation, either before or after it occurs! To be overlooked for salvation by God and given the horrible decree of being non elect means that such a person never had any chance for salvation and will surely burn forever in the fires of hell.

The Horrible Decree and Infant Damnation

That even includes non elect infants who die! Calvinism’s infant damnation doctrine is a repulsive myth, which many of them have never been told about and is related to the horrible decree! Such is the mythical cruel God of Calvinism, who does will for some to perish, in definite contradistinction to the Biblical account (2 Peter. 3:9). Scripture is clear that God:

Wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. (1 Tim 2:4)

In fact, the true God of the Bible commands all people to enter through the narrow gate (Mt. 7:13), to repent (Acts 17:30) and to cut off their hand, foot or gouge their eye out if it is causing them to sin rather than go to hell (Mk. 9:43-48). Jesus also invites all to come to himself who are weary and burdened to find rest for their souls (Mt. 11:28-30), and draws all men to himself (Jn. 12:32).

Peter Didn’t Proclaim Calvin’s Horrible Decree

Peter preached to whole groups and made general statements, which doesn’t allow for Calvin’s horrible decree:

With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” (Acts 2:40)

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,  (Acts 3:19)

It is not logical for anyone who believes in Calvin’s horrible decree to preach like Peter did! Clearly, man has a choice in getting saved. According to Scripture, the real reason why people perish is not because they were issued the horrible decree, but because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. (2 Th 2:10) That basic Bible truth parallels Jesus’ teaching in John 18:37 where he said:

“Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

Man’s heart must love truth (God’s word) to come to salvation, for we are born again by the word of God (1 Pet. 1:23). Furthermore, not everyone Jesus told, follow me did follow him!  Matthew did (Mt. 9:9), as did Peter and Andrew (Mt. 4:18,19), but the unnamed in Lk. 9:59,60 didn’t! Jesus called him, but he didn’t respond even though it was God’s will for him to follow and be saved!

Though Calvinists hate to admit it, it is a fact that all 5 points of Calvinism hang or fall together, according to one of their own theologians! Don’t be deceived: Calvinism is not the doctrines of grace as taught in the Bible! Man does have free will and a choice in his salvation. Calvin’s Horrible Decree is mythical as Santa Claus.

Atacama Humanoid

atacama humanoidIf mankind knew all that has occurred on earth or is going on now such as the Atacama Humanoid we would surely be most surprised!

Atacama Humanoid Mysteries

There are many mysteries including the mummified body of a 6 inch creature that is not human. It could have lived decades or centuries ago and gets its name from the Atacama desert in Chile where it was found in 2003. This tiny creature, which researchers think lived 6 to 8 years, is the opposite in size of the huge Nephilim mentioned in the Bible.

Atacama Humanoid Organs And DNA

This entity has internal organs and DNA. It is definitely not a hoax, nor an unborn human. While humans have 12 ribs the Atacama Humanoid has only 10 ribs and a very large head for its body size, as well as a well-developed tooth. It is also not a human deformity nor abnormality!

Aliens Connection?

atacama humanoidCould the Atacama humanoid somehow be connected with aliens? Some think it possibly is, but regardless nothing will change Biblical truth even if aliens do exist and this so-called humanoid is the bodily remains of one! Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Phil. 2:10,11). Do you know Jesus? One day the Atacama Humanoid mystery will be meaningless, but that is not the case with the importance of eternal life!

Life As An Early Christian

early ChristiansTo learn the real truth about early Christian life one must go to the Bible, the only accurate source for such. Do not make the mistake of going to any other book, including the so-called church fathers. Especially the book of Acts will give factual snippets of early Christian life, as they followed Jesus and lived godly separated lives in their society. Ponder the following and see how closely you understand the Christian life.

Christian Life Specifically

Early Christian life two thousand years ago included a devotion to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer (Acts 2:42), persecutions because of obedience to God (Acts 4:3; 5:40; 8:1; 12:5; 13:50), threats for obeying God (Acts 4:21), holiness preaching which focused in upon the Lord Jesus (Acts 4:10-12; 10:43; 16:30,31; 20:21; etc.), great fear of God among the believers (Acts 5:11), jealous and angry opponents (Acts 5:17; 5:33; 13:45); feeding widows (Acts 6:1,2); verbal debates over doctrines resulting in slander and false witnesses (Acts 6:11-13; 9:20-22; 9:29;); martyrdom (Acts 7:59,60; 12:2); exorcism (Acts 8:7); apostasy (Acts 8:13 cf. 8:20-23); the miraculous conversion of Paul (Acts 9:1-9); Christian Jews realizing Gentiles were granted repentance unto life too (Acts 11:17,18); new converts being encouraged to remain true to God (Acts 11:23,24); missions (Acts 13:2,3); fleeing persecution (Acts 12:17); the word of God being spread (Acts 12:24; 13:49); opposition to the word of God by a child of the devil (Acts 13:8-10; etc.); aggressive and bold soul winning (Acts 13:16-41); persecuted disciples being filled with joy (Acts 13:52); enemies poisoning the minds of potential converts (Acts 14:2); enemies pursuing the Christians to persecute (Acts 14:19); sharp disputing over salvation related doctrine (Acts 15;1,2); etc.

Christian Life In General

Elsewhere in Scripture, the Christian life is likened unto running a race with perseverance, putting your hand to the plow and not looking back and being a soldier (2 Tim. 2:3), who needs armor in his battle (Eph. 6:11-18)! Never is the Christian life represented as an easy “cake walk” with a focus on material prosperity or self indulgence. It is a life of denying self to rescue and help others in their desperate spiritual conditions (Lk. 9:23). Furthermore, Jesus taught that the road to life is difficult (Mt. 7:14). Christians are in a life or death battle for truth and righteousness. False teachers and false prophets are a constant danger. SOULS, the most valuable things on the planet, hang in the balance as we fight the good fight (1 Tim. 6:12) holding out the word of life (Phil. 2:16). Furthermore, as all other things occur in the Christian life there are the normal cares of life and schemes of the devil designed to hurt and lethally destroy us if possible. There are many spiritual casualties in this most important spiritual war. He who endures to the end will be saved (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14). This was early Christian life.

Dorcas

Dorcas (or Tabitha) was a first-century Christian woman who got physically sick and died. Her life before that point was noted for her good works and helping the poor (Acts 9:36,37). After her death, several things occurred which reflect what early Christian life was like.

Dorcas – Raised From The Dead

    • She was obedient (Heb. 5:9), for her life was characterized by doing good.
    • She helped the poor (including Christian widows), which is basic to following Jesus (Lk. 12:33; Jn. 13:29; etc.).
    • Though Dorcas went to Paradise after her death, Christians still mourned, crying over her departure. This same similar thing occurred when Stephen died (Acts 8:2) and Lazarus (Jn. 11:33-35).
    • Though all believers can lay hands on the sick and pray for their healing (Mk. 16:18), apparently she didn’t get better, for she died.

raised from the dead

  • She was raised from the dead! Peter was a man of great faith. God used him again in this manner, but this time it was to raise Dorcas from the grave!
  • Many came to a saving faith after she was raised to life again (Acts 9:42). This was not the first time a miracle brought people to salvation (Acts 9:35).
  • Nowhere was her Near Death Experience, if she had one, focused upon as proof of the afterlife or what happens after death. The same can be said of Lazarus who was dead for 4 days before the Lord Jesus raised him from the grave (Jn. 11:39) and all the others. If people won’t believe Scripture (the Bible), they won’t be persuaded though someone raises from the dead (Lk. 16:31).

Remember This Christian Woman – Dorcas

Godly women like her were a true blessing to those around her. If you are a Christian woman, remember her and make your short life count for God while you still can. (There were other noteworthy Christian women besides Dorcas too, but she was certainly one.)

Deceived By The King James Version Of The Bible KJV

king james version onlyThe King James Version of the Bible (KJV) is both a frustrating and deceiving translation to use.  That observation is unusual and strong language in a day when some KJV lovers have exalted this version to God’s only word and his perfect Bible, but it remains factual. How anyone can recognize the seriousness of understanding the Bible and yet exalt this translation to the pinnacle is beyond my ability to understand! The mere fact that there are so many incomprehensible words in the King James Version should, of itself, jar lovers of truth away from this frustrating situation, but it gets even more subtle and sinister in our day!

Different Word Meanings

It is one thing to realize that you don’t know the meaning of a word but a totally different thing to think that you do when you don’t! That will surely lead to deception. deceived by kjv The King James Bible has done that also to its devoted readers!  In other words, there are various words we use in our daily conversations, and they all mean one thing until you read the same words in the King James Version! For example, I just used the word, conversation.  When you read it in the KJV it means BEHAVIOR! That is quite a difference, but adds to the compound problem the readers of this Bible cause for themselves by using this archaic English version. Multiply that type of deception times the different words used in this Bible which mean something else, then multiply it again for all the times those words are found in the KJV.

The King James Version Is A Deceitful Translation

Here is a partial listing of such words (enough to make the point) that the KJV is also a deceitful translation to use:

    • conversation
    • suffer
    • quick
    • peculiar
    • communicate
    • meat
    • prevent
    • wax
    • bravery
    • cabins
    • college
    • cousin
    • curious
    • charity
    • purchase
    • sincere
    • singular
    • faint
    • sober
    • fornication
    • gay clothing
    • score

As a former King James Bible proponent and serious Christian, some of those same words had me deceived for a while. As I earnestly applied myself to learn God’s truth with this translation, it became apparent I was in a frustrating and hopeless task. As discouraged as I was, I didn’t even know about the aforementioned word meanings! That came later and to my surprise. To single out another example, the KJV using the word charity in 1 Cor. 13 instead of love is well known, but not some of the others, especially the word peculiar.

King James Version Calls God’s People Peculiar

I still remember when my wife and I heard a KJV pastor, from the pulpit, point out one of the elderly saints in the congregation to say he is one of God’s peculiar people. Then he went on to say the saints are odd and strange in this world, which has truth in it, but that isn’t the usage of the word found in Titus 2:14 and 1 Peter 2:9. Peculiar in those verses means the saints are God’s personal private property! Hallelujah! That makes me happy to know I’m God’s personal private property, but that pastor was deceived by the KJV and was innocently spreading that deception on to others. Had a modern reputable translation like the NASB, NKJV, NIV, ESV, etc. been used, that deception would not have existed!

Read an open letter to all King James Version (KJV) readers.
