Greg Laurie Teaches Eternal Security

Greg Laurie (of Harvest Christian Fellowship and Calvary Chapel) teaches eternal security. The essence of that heresy is clearly shown in his website’s doctrinal statement.

Greg Laurie Believes:

On the divine side of salvation, God sovereignly acts to secure salvation for sinnersgreg laurie

Sanctification: When we become Christians, God sanctifies us, or sets us apart positionally, practically, and permanently for Himself (bold emphasis mine)

Please realize that because Greg Laurie does believe in once saved always saved, he is wrong about salvation itself, the lethal power of sin for a Christian, what saving faith is, what grace is, etc. The issue of the believer’s security is very far reaching theologically. Though he might be popular and a good speaker, his doctrine is fatally flawed by eternal security and therefore his ministry is a dangerous snare. It had been said Greg Laurie might be the Calvary Chapel successor and leader to Chuck Smith.

Greg Laurie Motivates Statement

Do NOT be deceived by other statements made by Laurie like the following:

But salvation brings about a changed life (see 2 Corinthians 5:17) and motivates believers to follow God’s purpose for their lives. (ibid.)

While it is absolutely true that initial salvation (getting born again) results in a radically changed life and motivates the saved to follow God’s purpose for their lives, that doesn’t mean Christians always will. A Christian can backslide. That is why the devil tempts, and unfortunately, he is often successful. The devil knows that sin, such as listed in 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph. 5:5-7; Rev. 21:8; etc. is spiritually deadly to the saved. If a righteous man turns to evil, he will die spiritually because of it. See Ezek. 33:18; Rom. 8:13; James 5:19,20; etc.

Greg Laurie and King David

A key question related to this is, how did King David die when he turned to evil? It wasn’t physical death, but clearly was spiritual death, as warned in the New Testament too. That Biblical truth, however, is denied and opposed by Greg Laurie (and all eternal security teachers), but is foundational from Genesis through Revelation. harvest christian fellowship

Greg Laurie Is NOT A Sound Teacher

Harvest Christian Fellowship is not a sound church and ministry because Greg Laurie himself is not a sound teacher. Take warning! If you don’t believe Greg Laurie is actually teaching a license to sin, please smoke him out for yourself by asking him the acid test question.

Agnostic Crystal McVea’s Near Death Experience

Crystal McVea died for 9 minutes while in the hospital and had a heavenly near death experience. During that time she had a near death experience and says she went to heaven, as an agnostic! crystal mcvea

[Interviewer] “… the school teacher and mother of four explains why she considered herself an unlikely candidate for such an experience.

[Crystal McVea] “I was sexually abused for many years of my life, and it wasn’t that I didn’t believe in God, it was that I questioned his existence my whole life. What kind of God could allow this kind of abuse to happen?”

That spells spiritual deception! An agnostic, like Crystal McVea is a person who isn’t sure if God exists or not. Since she questioned God’s existence her whole life, she was an agnostic! That rules out the possibility that Crystal McVea really went to heaven, since she didn’t have salvation, which only believers have (John 3:18). To have Biblical salvation, one must not only believe in God’s existence, he must believe on Jesus to the point of commitment. Many religions believe in God’s existence, but are without eternal life. To have true salvation, one must meet the requirements for eternal life set down by the Lord Jesus Christ. His faith must be the kind which results in a radical behavioral change, including being set free from his sin addictions to live a holy life. What Crystal McVea said she had only implies a deadly Universal Salvation for all.

Crystal McVea And Eben Alexander Are Calling Jesus A Liar

Crystal McVea, Eben Alexander (pictured to right) and a whole host of other people, who had no genuine profession of faith in Christ at the time of their death, claim they went to heaven for a short time before returning to life! Their experience indirectly calls Jesus Christ a liar, since both Jesus and their experiences can’t be right! eben alexanderWho then should we believe? The answer comes back to authority and credentials. If we go by the evidence, clearly Jesus uniquely has the credentials and authority to declare the truth about eternal life, unlike any other. Hence, it is not logical to believe such near death experiences and the Biblical message too.

Hear Crystal McVea’s Near Death Experience

CAUTION: Near Death Experiences

We live in a day when great religious deception is flourishing to the damnation of others. Many people have had different types of experiences, which likewise contradict others Near Death Experiences and Scripture too! We must glue ourselves to the Biblical message or we will be deceived. Remember, the Bible is final authority (2 Tim. 3:16,17) and the very words which Jesus spoke will condemn people who reject Jesus and don’t accept his words (John 12:48). Don’t be deceived by experiences, including Crystal McVea’s or Eben Alexander’s Near Death Experience.

Alcoholic Risks His Life For Beer

The bondage of sin manifests in various ways and is easily observed in an alcoholic. Recently, an alcoholic who walks with a cane, went back into his burning house in Georgia to get the beer he left behind! That man was Walter Serpit.

Alcoholic Walter Serpit Speaks

“I told them to get the kids out and everything and me myself, being an alcoholic, I was trying to get my beer out,” he told the news station. “I went back into the house like a dummy and the door shut on me because this back draft was about to kill me.” ( http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/georgia-man-saves-family-burning-house-turns-back-save-beer-article-1.1497313  )

Hope For The Alcoholic

The alcoholic, Walter Serpit and all others, can be set free from their sin addictions, just like those addicted to pornography or any other sin! The sole but sure remedy is the precious, cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. At the point of true salvation, when one receives eternal life, he (the alcoholic) is delivered from the cruel slavery of sin and has peace with God. His heart is instantly washed clean and pure. Multitudes of former alcoholics can testify to that and it is available for all who will take Jesus’ yoke upon themselves and learn from him. The same will find rest for their soul (Mt. 11:29).

Certain Hope For The Alcoholic

If you are an alcoholic, Jesus WILL set you free from your slavery to that addiction, IF you repent. alcoholic If you are an alcoholic and refuse to go to God on his terms and try an alternative, such as AA, you will be cheating yourself. Alcoholism is sin and must be dealt with spiritually. To do that effectively you must go by the Biblical directives. That means the alcoholic must become a new creation in Christ. Do NOT be deceived: there is NO such thing as a Christian alcoholic or eternal security.

Thief Makes Restitution

How can a thief  make it right? Since stealing is a unique sin it is different from others.thief People who steal are grouped with other sinners who will not inherit God’s kingdom (1 Cor. 6:9,10), but with Jesus, getting forgiven is available for them too (1 Cor. 6:11).

Restitution – A Unique Situation

Unlike other sins, a thief is to make restitution along with his repentance. That restoring what was taken, according to Scripture, varies. Here are related Scriptures:

If a man gives his neighbor silver or goods for safekeeping and they are stolen from the neighbor’s house, the thief, if he is caught, must pay back double.  (Exo 22:7)thief restitution

A thief must certainly make restitution, but if he has nothing, he must be sold to pay for his theft.  (Exo 22:3)

Men do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy his hunger when he is starving. Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house. (Prov 6:30,31)

To merely ask God for forgiveness, without a willingness to restore what was stolen, is not Scriptural. The stolen item/s must at least be returned plus more, according to those Scriptures! An exception to this, however, was the dying repentant robber crucified next to Jesus, who couldn’t make restitution. He had no chance of making restoring the stolen goods, yet he got forgiven and entered Paradise (Lk. 23:42,43). God knew the circumstances and his sincere HEART, even in those unique circumstances.

Modern Day Example Of A Thief Returning Money

Thief, Change Your Spiritual Identity

Along with getting forgiven goes a spiritual identity change. That is shown in 1 Cor. 6:11 with the past tense word were. Among such are forgiven alcoholics, adulterers, and thieves. There are so many wonderful things that happen at the point of salvation that it is almost to fully understand it all. The point is God no longer views a person who has stolen things and has truly repented as a thief.

Cell Phones and The Bible

In our modern day, cell phones are everywhere. China is the world leader with over one billion cell phone users, followed by India, then the USA with its 300+ million cell phone users, then Brazil. Many people rely on their cell phones and use them frequently throughout the day, but how do the same compare their dependence on cell phones to the Bible? bible cell phone Folks, it is only in the Bible that we can find God’s eternal word, which contains the precious truths about eternal salvation. Jesus has the words of eternal life (Jn. 6:68) and people will be condemned based on his words (Jn. 12:48). How can a cell phone compare with that importance? God’s word is living and active, as well as sharper than a two-edged sword. It penetrates to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, judging the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Heb. 4:12). There is no other book that is the proven word of God, including the Book of Mormon, Koran, etc.  Think about it.

Pope Francis and The Catholic Mary

On October 13, 2013 Pope Francis entrusted the world to the most powerful entity he knows. That personage is Catholicism’s Mary, who is sovereign, as various Catholic authorities have called her, including Pope John Paul II.

Pope Francis Entrusting The World Mary

Pope Francis on Sunday entrusted the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to her maternal care before the image of Our Lady of Fatima, asking Mary’s help to “revive and grow faith.”pope francis and mary

“Our Lady of Fatima, with renewed gratitude for your maternal presence, we join our voice to that of all the generations that have called you blessed,” Pope Francis said at the close of Mass in St. Peter’s Square Oct. 13. “We celebrate in you the great work of God, who never tires of bending down with mercy to mankind, afflicted by evil and wounded by sin, to heal and to save it.”

The original statue of Our Lady of Fatima was moved from its home shrine in Portugal to St. Peter’s Square especially for the entrustment. The act marked the culmination of a weekend of Marian prayer and devotion.  ( https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/pope-entrusts-world-to-immaculate-heart-of-mary/)

Did you notice the Pope’s prayer to their Queen of heaven was NOT asking her to pray to God in intercession to save the world, but a prayer TO her asking her to save the world? As Paul prayed to God for him to save the Israelites (Rom. 10:1), the Pontiff prayed to his female sovereign to save the world!

Pope Francis, An Idolater

There are supposed to be over one billion Catholics worldwide. With a leader like the present day pontiff, and all his papal predecessors before him since Vatican Council II, it should be plain that the changes in Catholicism since Vatican Council II were only surface changes. Roman Catholicism remains just as spiritually dark and idolatrous as ever. For the sincere Catholic to ever learn the plan of salvation, he will have to get it from an outside source for himself. Preferably that will be the Bible itself, as it was with me — a former Roman Catholic who found salvation. The Pontiff is wrong.

John MacArthur and Getting Forgiven For Taking The Mark of the Beast

How well do you know the teachings of John MacArthur regarding the mark of the beast? Do you think John MacArthur is sound? Please be aware that there are many FALSE teachers, which have crept into the churches.john macarthur In our day the same ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing are also on radio, TV, have their own study Bibles, etc. Those ear-ticklers come in various forms, from eternal security teachers to prosperity teachers to Papists, etc. All of that is plenty bad enough, but especially to teach one can take the mark of the beast and be redeemed is super dangerous for the last generation, which is fast approaching. Believe it or not, the well-known and popular Calvinist, John MacArthur, does that very thing!

John MacArthur Poison About The Mark Of The Beast

Listen carefully to John MacArthur’s ear-tickling explanation, taught from his pre-trib rapture point of view.

The question is, if you’re living in the tribulation period, and you take this mark — in other words, you identify with the beast’s empire — will you still be able to be redeemed? And I think the answer to that is, yes!

To hear John MacArthur’s heretical words on this, click
John MacArthur is a Calvinist heretic.

Though John MacArthur believes in eternal security, he didn’t base that statement on once saved always saved! But regardless, John MacArthur teaches that one can take the mark of the beast and afterwards be redeemed! To commit that single sin is a sure formula for damnation for all who believe MacArthur and are living during the time the Antichrist and the mark of the beast, which isn’t here yet.

The Angelic Warning vs John MacArthur

A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.” This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus. (Rev 14:9-12)

That Bible warning is specifically geared for the saints  (or redeemed) to know, beyond any doubt, that taking the mark of the beast is NOT like sins which can be repented of such as sexual sins, drunkenness, theft, murder, etc. To receive the mark of the beast, which will be needed to buy or sell (Rev. 13:16,17) at that future point, will bring instant spiritual death to the saints who yield under the pressure then. The same act of disobedience will cause them to be tormented for ever and ever! That shows the EXTREME DANGER in what John MacArthur, and others, are teaching.

Related Scriptures on The Mark of the Beast

Those who enter God’s kingdom from that last generation are mentioned in the following two passages from Revelation:

And I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name. They held harps given them by God  (Rev 15:2)

I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. (Rev 20:4-6)

NOTE: Though it is crystal clear from Rev. 14:9-12, the aforementioned two Scriptures excludes any mention of even one person who received the mark and afterwards entered God’s kingdom after their death because they repented! To receive the mark of the beast is certainly to forfeit being victorious over the mark of the beast (Rev. 15:2)! Please remember that. That alone proves John MacArthur is dangerously wrong.

Furthermore, Rev. 20:4-6 shows the overcomers had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. In other words, they NEVER received the mark of the beast, needed to buy or sell, and suffered the earthly consequences of their obedience and faithfulness to God when the antichrist is reigning. They endured and will reign with the Lord Jesus. (2 Tim 2:12). They didn’t worship the image of the beast and maintained their testimony of Jesus (Rev 6:9; 12:17), though they shed their blood to do so (Rev 17:6). Rev. 12:11 is most important and should be memorized:

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (Rev 12:11)

Do NOT Believe John MacArthur!

If you follow the advice of John MacArthur or others who teach the same heretical way about taking the mark and getting forgiven afterwards (like Chris Pinto, Mike Desario and Jimmy DeYoung), you will surely be damned. DO NOT BE DECEIVED. There are many savage wolves in sheep’s clothing in our day and some might be your friend or favorite teacher! Again, this warning about wolves, includes John MacArthur, so do not be deceived about taking the mark of the beast and being forgiven afterwards!

This We KNOW

Many things in the Bible are not clearly and precisely explained in Scripture, as we would like, because they don’t deal with the main reasons we have God’s written word, that is, the issue of sin, how to get forgiven and how to enter God’s kingdom after death. Just one example of a Bible mystery is, what did the devil want with Moses’ body (Jude 9)? John MacArthurHowever, some important Biblical issues are clearly stated to the point of knowing about them, and they are related in one way or another to salvation. The Apostle John, who also gave us the Gospel of John, especially stated such and these are recorded in 1 John:

● But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:  (1 John 2:5)

COMMENT: Obeying God’s word is the basic way to identify a righteous person, a person who is in Christ. Obeying God’s word includes believing in Jesus Christ (1 John 3:23) and that includes repentance.

● Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.  (1 John 2:18)

COMMENT: The many antichrists that existed in John’s day (before the one main antichrist mentioned in Rev. 13) is proof that even back then, 2,000 years ago, was the last hour.

This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. (1 John 3:10)

COMMENT: 1 John 3:10 is essentially the same as 1 John 2:5. Obeying God’s word is the same as doing what is right and loving the Christian brotherhood.

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. (1 John 3:16)

COMMENT: Jesus died for us. That is the only reason he redeemed mankind and that was an incomprehensible act of love on his part. We are to love the Christian brotherhood to the point of dying for them.

● This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence (1 John 3:19)

COMMENT: 1 John 3:18-20 says if we love in action and in truth, we KNOW we belong to the truth (Jesus) and how we can set out hearts at rest in God’s presence.

● Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. (1 John 3:24)

COMMENT: Again, it is clear that OBEDIENCE to God’s commands is the proof that God lives in Christians. We are the temple of God (1 Cor. 3:16,17) and God gives eternal salvation to those who obey him (Heb. 5:9).

● This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. (1 John 5:2)

COMMENT: We know we love the children of God by loving God and obeying God’s commands. Did you KNOW those things? IF not, you should now.

Was Solomon Saved In His Early Days

[Bible Question From Russia about Solomon] Thank you so much for your site! I really enjoy studying the doctrine of salvation with you! I still have some questions. One of them is: Can we conclude that [King] Solomon was saved during his “early” period when writing the inspired Scriptures of God or some other period before his falling into syncretism/idolatry? Thank you in advance!

Solomon Was Saved When He Wrote Scripture

[Bible Answer] Greetings in Jesus’ name from the USA. Thanks for the gracious and encouraging words. king solomonEVERY Bible writer was saved when writing their book/s of the Bible, including King Solomon when he wrote those books. Scripture says of itself:

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (2 Pet. 1:20,21, NKJV)

So the writers of the Bible were all holy men of God who were moved upon by the Spirit of God as they wrote Scripture. That includes all the ones who afterwards backslid, like King Solomon and King David. They were previously saved before they turned to such wickedness. They are examples of righteous men who turned to evil and died spiritually:

If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, he will die for it.  (Ezek 33:18)

Before Solomon Turned Away

King Solomon also prayed when dedicating the Temple and God miraculously answered with fire (2 Chron. 7). That too indicates he had salvation at that point. In the latter part of his life, he turned to idolatry and there is NO evidence in the Bible that he ever repented! Idolaters go to the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8). Hope that helps. BTW, if you have never read “The Believer’s Conditional Security” please consider doing so. It deals with this whole subject of the believer’s security in great detail, including Solomon.

Tikker Death Watch

Fredrik Colting is the inventor of the Tikker Watch, a digital wristwatch which calculates the wearer’s life expectancy down to remaining seconds, based on various health questions and their age!tikker watch That watch is supposed to help the wearers make the most of their remaining time rather than wasting it so they can live their life to the utmost! Of course, it cannot predict fatal unexpectant accidents, which may occur to almost anyone. Besides that the Tikker watch ads recommends worthless earthly pursuits and views death as a secular humanist would, which is typical from a spiritually dark point of view.

Because the fear of death is almost universal among the unrighteous, but not the righteous because of Jesus’ death on the cross, the Tikker watch will probably never be a best seller:

Since the children have flesh and blood, he [the Lord Jesus] too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death–that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. (Heb 2:14,15)

We Christians know what will happen after a righteous person dies, that is, he will consciously and immediately go into Paradise and the holy presence of God (2 Cor. 5:8; Phil. 1:21,23). The extreme opposite place is awaiting the multitudes who die in their sins. A fiery tormenting environment, prepared for the devil and his angels (Mt. 25:41), will be occupied by most humans (Mt. 7:13,14)! These stirring facts should help motivate all Christians to spread the gospel, with the various conditional security terms for believers (1 Cor. 15:2; 1 John 2:24-26; etc.).

Time Is Ticking Away

The Tikker watch is definitely correct in one way — that we need to be mindful of our remaining days, which can’t be retrieved once it is gone. Wasting precious time trying to enjoy our earthly life to the full is antithetical to the Biblical message. We are to be servants, doing the will of God and laboring in his vineyard! Though not ear tickling, that is the Biblical message (1 Thess. 1:9; Mt. 20:1-16; Lk. 8:21; etc.). So in one way, this watch will help people become more aware that we all have a terminal disease and have been issued a type of death sentence according to Heb. 9:27.

Our Death Is Approaching

We all need to prepare to stand before a HOLY God with a pure heart so we can see him (Mt. 5:8). Maintaining heart purity should be the primary goal of all Christians (1 Tim. 5:22; 1 Peter 1:14; Heb. 12:4), as the devil will surely do his best to deceive and lead astray the godly. Another main goal should be exalting the Lord Jesus with our life and death (Phil. 1:20). Think Judgment Day and plan for your certain physical death and eternal existence beyond the grave. We shouldn’t need this watch to remind us of our approaching death, since we have the Holy Bible, a more sure word than God’s audible voice (2 Pet. 1:18,19).
