Here is a spiritual reality check for all professing Christians. If you have the real thing, that is, eternal life – then you are not of the world! In fact, you are not only not of the world, you are not of the world any more than Jesus is of the world! Does that describe you?
I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. (John 17:14-16)
When a person gets saved, he gets chosen out of the world and the world can tell it. They know it and will persecute that person (the one with eternal life) because he is not of the world anymore.
If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. (John 15:19)
NOTE: The world can tell who the real Christians are, but the apostate church world of our day can’t! With eternal security and its carnal Christian, secret election and wheat and tares teachings, many have been deceived by their distortions thinking there are two types of drunks, two types of adulterers, two types of slanderers, etc.!
So, do you fit in with the people and interests of this world or is there a righteous indignation and godly anger that is stirred in you because of the wickedness and deceptions you observe from them? Are they equally bothered by you? Remember, this is a reality check! Answer these questions for yourself and make the needed adjustments. Don’t be just another statistic among the many mentioned here:
Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Mat 7:21)
