(BIBLE QUESTION) I reviewed your website response to the Near Death Experience phenomenon. I feel I must respond to your comments. You seem to make a sweeping accusation that Near Death Experiences are inherently evil. I’m not sure this is true or wise. Religious dogma is not the appropriate response. I know of a an Near Death Experience case that lead to an individual becoming an ordained minister. How is that evil? Please be careful of condemning rhetoric. There are mysteries of GOD that we cannot explain, and certainly should not label as evil. HIS ways are not our ways. The minister I refer to clearly understood that he was touched by JESUS in a way that was pure love. His life was changed forever. To clarify, I am a believer. I know the bible well. I do not see Near Death Experiences as incompatible with scripture. As Christians we are taught to love one another. Near Death Experiences seem to repeatedly stress this need to love unconditionally. Judge not, lest you be judge.
(BIBLE ANSWER) Thank you for your email on Near Death Experiences. Since Near Death Experiences contradict one another, how do you know which ones should be discarded? If you are a Christian, then you should know the devil is VERY SUBTLE and DECEITFUL. He is the father of lies and could be the only source who would try to lead people away from the Biblical message of salvation only through the Lord Jesus (Jn. 14:6; Acts 4:12; etc.). The Near Death Experiences have people in heaven who were NOT Bible-defined Christians!!!! There is something very wrong with them. God can’t, therefore, be the source. We are to draw our doctrines from the Scriptures ALONE (2 Tim. 3:16,17). BTW, just because someone became a minister after a Near Death Experience doesn’t mean he is good or even that he is doing the work of God by being a minister. There are MANY false prophets and false teachers (Mt. 24:11; etc.). Ponder Mt. 7:15. **Jesus taught MOST will go to hell (Mt. 7:13,14). That is NOT the message conveyed through the Near Death Experiences. Such is to make a right judgment, as commanded (John 7:24). GOD BLESS YOU. Remember 1 Cor. 6:9-11.
