Please know, the kjv only controversy is based on propaganda and misinformation. For example, you mentioned “missing words.” 
The so-called “missing words” are NOT a translational issue as you have been told! The difference is the GREEK MANUSCRIPTS the translations are based on. The kjv is based on the Textus Receptus, which is different than many of the modern translations. Hence, the “missing words” are NOT MISSING IN THOSE OTHER GREEK MANUSCRIPTS! **It is just as rational to say the kjv has ADDED WORDS which shouldn’t be there. But the so-called “missing words” are not really missing, since they are footnoted in many of the modern translations.
KJV Is NOT Understandable
Getting past the missing/added words, the kjv is NOT understandable. That is enough reason to set the kjv aside. It is self-deceived people who say they can understand the kjv and even a 10 year old can understand it (like heretic David J. Stewart spreads). That is utter nonsense. Can you understand this from the kjv:
O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged. Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels. (2 Cor 6:11,12, kjv)
CAN YOU? Why read a translation like that? It only because of propaganda and tradition.
Changed Word Meanings
The kjv has many words which have changed their meanings over the years, since 1611. That is another major issue with the kjv. Reading the kjv will mislead the reader when coming to certain words.
Do you believe GOD REPENTS OF EVIL? I consider that BLASPHEMY, yet it is the translation in the kjv — the actual reading! Kjv onlyites want us to believe the kjv is the PERFECT bible, PRESERVED bible and GOD’S ONLY Bible. That is propaganda and nonsense, based on the facts. We have many teachings to help you better understand this. (The false god of the kjv REPENTS OF EVIL! That is not my God, who is holy, sinless, does everything perfect and knows the future.)
**BTW, in some cases kjv onlyism is elevated to a SALVATION issue! That makes it a FALSE GOSPEL!
The Real Issue — Are You Living Holy NOW
ARE YOU LIVING HOLY NOW? That is the issue, not what translation you are reading! Can you relate to this verse NOW:
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. (Rom 6:22)
In other words, are you FREE from your SIN ADDICTIONS, as Christians are? There is NO eternal security. Remember Heb. 3:14.
