IF the proponents of the KJB only camp would learn to critically think, the whole nonsensical and mean-spirited, condemning KJB (or KJV) movement would rapidly disintegrate! In fact, one doesn’t even have to do much serious testing of the KJV arguments and claims to reasonably reject the King James version of the bible, because it is both incomprehensible and deceptive. This should quickly become apparent to anyone reading the KJV. How people can read it, then insist they can understand what it is saying is to be deceitful. It is an archaic language of its own — one of the past — just like reading Shakespeare, which is now much outdated! The English language has changed over the centuries (and still is) and now many KJB words no longer mean what they did in 1611.
KJV Onlyism Hurts
Reading the KJV is a stumbling block and snare to God’s people, for we MUST learn what the truth is. Since only the Bible is final spiritual authority (2 Tim. 3:16,17) for a Christian to focus his exclusive attention to such an incomprehensible translation is to do so to his own detriment. Our salvation is in dire jeopardy until we firmly learn the message of the Bible, especially the New Testament! Without question, the KJV will surely blur and severely hinder that from happening. I speak from MUCH experience and say these things after careful thought. Especially new converts are much better off reading a modern reputable translation or several rather than the KJB.
The Feeble Chief Argument For KJB Onlyism
The KJV onlyites have made many devotees over the years with their weak arguments and propaganda (and Gail Riplinger LIES). Their chief argument has been to attack the New International Version and its supposed “missing words” to prove their KJV only belief, but such is both illogical and based on a mere assumption! SADLY the KJV only proponents have apparently never noticed such to their own harm and the harm of those they care about! Let me elaborate.
The Car Analogy
If I staunchly believed in driving ONLY HONDAS and condemned all other cars throughout the world by attacking Chevys, could such an attack logically prove Hondas are superior to ALL cars in the world? Never! It is absurd to believe it would. That is true even IF the evidence against Chevys was sound and not based on an assumption that the Hondas are superior, but even more flawed if the attacks are not valid. Such allegations, if true, would only prove that Chevys are not good cars to drive, but says nothing about all other cars throughout the world. Furthermore, IF we compared Chevys to Hondas and noticed Chevys were missing some of the necessary parts found in Hondas, it would be a mere assumption to condemn the Chevys just based on that, for perhaps those “necessary parts” are not valid in ascertaining a superior car! That is very similar to what KJV Onlyism has done to the harm of multitudes of Christians. KJV Onlyism is proof that many professing Christians of our hour have never learned to critically think and are easily swayed to believe something that is obviously wrong and irrational. To fallaciously claim even a 10 year old can understand the KJV when the adult readers themselves can’t is deceitful!
Dear reader, take NO CHANCE with your soul. READ REPUTABLE MODERN TRANSLATIONS SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT GOD WANTS FROM YOU. It is your ETERNITY which is on the line with this issue of GOD’S TRUTH. Don’t allow the KJV proponents bully you away from understanding Scripture.
