I am 60 years old and have been in a state of confusion in all my life. I know I am not alone. I believe 80 to 90 per cent of Christians are just as confused as I am. I do not believe in once saved always saved as the modern “Christians” do and they are the majority. My biggest problem is finding a church that does not believe that. The pastor I have, believes in once saved always saved. He believes God loves everybody. But the bible says God is angry with the wicked everyday. Sometimes I feel like quitting. Who is right. Who is wrong. Who has all the answers. What church has all the doctrine right? There is a church on every block and not a one could probably agree on one thing. Isn’t that sad! I listen to preachers and I have to ask myself where is that at in the bible. It is sad. When you lead someone to the Lord what church do you send them to. Now that is a challenge. I better stop here. I am sorry I spilled all this junk on you just frustrated. God bless.
[Bible Answer] I’m so sorry for the confusion. What you expressed is reality and a serious world-wide problem! As you have observed, it seems that every single doctrine is contested with alternative views! (The same seems to be true in other non-religious areas.) The frustration you experienced to the point of quitting is from the devil. That is what he wants. Please know we are living in a worldwide apostasy. The days are evil and it will get worse until the antichrist comes to power. However, God’s grace is sufficient and one will always have the victory in Jesus.
The so-called “pastor” you are sitting under is a HERETIC. He is a servant of the devil and a snare to souls. How can you go to such a congregation and support such a demonic lie as eternal security by your presence and donations? You are sharing in his wicked work (2 Jn 9-11) and this is SERIOUS. You are much better off not to go inside any church building than to go to one which is once saved always saved church. Once saved always saved is not a Christian belief.
The best advice I can give you besides the above is, learn the New Testament. Read and reread it carefully for yourself. Until you do, you will continue to be swayed by one preacher to another! What you do with the message of the Bible will affect you throughout eternity. That makes learning it of utmost importance. Remember Luke 13:23,24.
