Are you careful and think you’re physically safe from deadly harm? Maybe death is much closer than you realize! Your approaching death might be at the door and ready to over take you!
We all have a terminal disease and something will bring us down to the grave. Guard your heart first and foremost at all times (Prov. 4:23). Be slow to speak, quick to listen and quick to forgive others (James 1:19; Mt. 6:14,15). You might not have an opportunity for a “death bed repentance” like the one dying thief did who went to Paradise after his spirit departed from his earthly tent. The Bible says:
In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Selah (Psa 4:4)
QUESTION: How often are you on your beds and should search your hearts to make sure you are clean spiritually? The answer is daily, because you go to bed everyday to sleep! Don’t be deceived by those who say:
- sin is no longer the issue
- a Christian’s future sins are already forgiven
- God can’t see a Christian’s sins because of Jesus’ blood or grace.
Stay ready to go. Your turn is coming and most will go to hell (Mt. 7:13,14)! Don’t follow the crowd. Be righteously different. There is no Universalism!
